We appreciated that when installation day came, he swung by to ensure all was going well. Oh, how did the installation go? It was fantastic. Not only did the windows and door come earlier than promised, the American Windows crew came on time and worked quickly and professionally. The delivery of kitchen cabinets were the primary driver to begin the process which were delivered in early April. The contract required the remodel to be completed between four and five weeks. On 22 April, the contractor began demolition which continued sparely throughout the week. On that Friday (25 April) we believed that the project would continue to move forward throughout the next week (the week of the 28th). Since no one showed up Monday morning, we contacted S&K and were told that nobody would be onsite Monday and Tuesday with no explanation. This practice continued off and on throughout the project which culminated in over 2 weeks of days when nothing was accomplished. This resulted in the period of performance to balloon from 4 to 5 to over 7 weeks. One of the outrageous claims was for 2 days that they didn't work because an unwarranted claim regarding my wife's heath. It appears that S&K is in need of significant improvement in the following areas: Communication: between the customer (not updating project process unless asked) and the S&K employees (arriving on site with no idea of current arrangements). Project Management: As described above, the project experienced many unproductive days. S&K does not seem to understand "project work arounds" when certain areas cannot be accomplished but other parts can. Quality Control: All project discrepancies/issues (plumbing, electrical and drywall) were identified by the customer and not S&K. S&K supervision never checked on site project status nor the quality of the work...both S&K and trade vendors.

The original manufacturer could not provide individual pieces but Jorge found a similar one that is nearly identical. Jorge approaches issues creatively. Instead of just replacing the siding (which was at a very visible spot in our backyard), he decided to take siding from the side of the house that is covered and use that at the back of the back of the house. That way, the siding all matched in the back where people hang out. The new pieces (which were very close to the original pieces) were put up on the side behind bushes. His knowledge about siding is high-level -- he knows his stuff.
