My wife and I have been looking to upgrade our car since last August. We came in because they had a 2018 Mazda CX-5 which I was really into at the time. The car salesman that helped us out was Andre and he is a nice and knowledgable guy. He was patient with the other cars we wanted to see and answered our questions when he had the answer. If he didn't which happened from time to time he didn't make stuff up but checked the internet or asked other salesmen. We didn't end up buying last August, but returned this past weekend. We took a look at maybe 10 cars and we had it down to a beautiful 2018 Infiniti QX30 and a nice 2017 Outback Impreza. Both vehicles came at a reasonable cost and I felt we would have gotten a deal buying either one. We ended up choosing the Outback. We decided to finance through Car Heroes because on certain vehicles this gets you a reduced price of around a grand. Both my wife and I have excellent credit so we figured we would get a finance rate of 5%. Well, unfortunately we were pretty far in when we found out our rate was 6.9% for two co-owners with excellent credit. This was probably the most negative aspect of the car dealing experience for us here. Of course we could have skirted around the issue if we had come pre-qualified through one of our banks. The cost of the vehicle would have been an extra grand though. There are trade-offs. Through all of the finance applications and signatures we were helped by Brian who is a nice guy. We were probably with him for and hour and half to two hours. He didn't rush us through any of the process and we felt free to back out or say no on any occasion. The cars sold here are all ex car rental vehicles so they come with more miles than usual for their age and a bit more wear and tear. People don't treat rentals with care or respect, because its not theirs after all. However, you are free to inspect and drive all the vehicles here and you may save just enough that it ends up being worth it for you. I thought our Outback was in great condition and three days in and it is running great. Only time will tell if there is an issue we don't know about, but I think we got a nice car. This business is expanding so wait times can get up there. We went on a Saturday and with all the looking, driving, and signing we did we spend about 4.5 hours there, but during previous visits it was pretty empty. During the week and work hours is a great time to come. As they increase in size and hire additional employees this place should improve. This dealership may not be for everyone, but I like the transparency of their fees, they get nice cars in all the time, the staff is nice, and the prices are very competitive even with the negatives. read more

Once you get there, they'll tell you the car sold last night. The car we went to view was sold "out of state." However, it wasn't on the lot when we arrived disproving this story. When I got there after paying $700 plus to fly there to pick it up. I saw that the full self driving option was NOT included. The screen did not show that. They did not make it right and did not accept any type of responsibility for false Advertisement. I Will be taking them to court if they do not make it right within 14 days. Wow. Where to begin. . . We purchased a 2022 Chevy Silverado with 65,000 miles on it in Seffner FL. We intended to pay for the vehicle at time of purchase. The price was good - until we were told the lower price was only if we financed the vehicle through them and made at least 3 payments before we paid it off. A bait and switch tactic. While the sales staff and financing person were personable and friendly, the truck we were sold was CRAP. Turns out there were many things wrong with the vehicle. Things that would have been found if a simple diagnostic had been run. We were told a diagnostic had been run and everything was good. IT WAS NOT. There was NO oil in the vehicle when we were told an oil change had just been done. We could tell from the way the truck drove when we had it for a few weeks that something was off. Within the first few months of having the truck we replaced the turbo - $2600, and then the torque converter - $1800. The tires on the truck were the originals and very worn. We were aware of that but the dealership said the tires were good and they wouldn't replace them or negotiate. There was also no spare tire. This wasn't apparent until we got the truck home. (Our bad since we didn't look specifically for the spare). We replaced the 4 tires and used the best of the 4 tires as the spare. At this point we have put over $5500 into the vehicle and will be trading it in. We won't be making the 3 payments on the financing for the dealership to get there "kickback." DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT deal with Car Heroes. There are many more ethical and honest dealers out there to choose from. Wish we had known about this dealership sooner . . . read more

Had my son drive up and view the vehicle, which I then followed up on. The simple truth is that they love to play games. They absolutely would not even discuss pricing until we drove there - which clearly would have been a waste of time - as there are deals done daily, online and via phone, for cars all over the country. We have done such deals in the past - reputable car dealers have no problem putting an honest deal together without baiting the customer into the store. Place is a joke. Bait and switch pricing. You walk in with excellent credit and are told the supposed price out the door, sit down to sign papers and suddenly the price has increased 30%, your credit is ran for several tiers lower than actual, and your skepticism of the scam unfolding in front of you is met with a backhanded attitude and cheesy smile as if nothings wrong. Question the $9500 in nonsensical fees and get a lecture on how the "ceramic coating comes with the vehicle" (meaning that $2500 charge is non negotiable for something you didn't ask for and the vehicle either doesn't need or obviously didn't get. It's scratched beyond belief and missing paint, now we need to add paint protection?) $2500 dealer fee, don't forget the fee for the fee, fee fee fee fee fee. I could see a lot of bait and switching with this dealership's website description. I was in the market for an Altima and their cars flooded sites with vehicles that has Navigation and sure enough it didn't. You could clearly tell from looking at the pictures of the vehicle's head unit. I then saw a Q50 that really sparked my interest - Two things I noticed is that the vehicle came with Navigation and has remote start. I called the morning before the drive there and spoke to a receptionist. She advised me that the vehicle does not have the two things stated on the website. Do your research on the vehicle before making the drive here otherwise you may be disappointed. Update: I decided to stop in because they had two Maximas that sparked my interest (why do I keep doing this to myself) I checked out both vehicles and they both had something wrong with them that made me walk. Also, the vehicles do not come with any dealer warranty meaning if you buy it - You are stuck with anything that happens as soon as you drive off the lot. I noticed a lot of engine degreaser under the hood of both Maximas and battery corrosion. When I went to give the salesman the keys back he was nowhere to be found I think his name was Ethan or Emmanuel, I'm not sure. These guys are thieves! I purchased a vehicle, Mazda CX-5 2021 on October 5th, 2024. It was advertised for $18484 and when I got there and spoke to the manager Kyle for the final price the cost was more than $24,500!!! These guys exercise bait and switch to first lure you to their dealership and then inflate the prices with outrageous fees! I negotiated the price down to $22,900+ and I was told that they will check the vehicle for safety prior to delivery and do an oil and filter change. When I showed up to pick up the vehicle none of these services had been performed. They didn't even clean the vehicle! I got a copy of the registration, and I was told that the registration sticker will be mailed to me. It was never mailed. I called and texted the finance manager, Stratos several times and I was promised that I would get the paperwork, but never got it. I was willing to do a cash transaction, but was forced to finance it because they said this is the only way to get the advertised price, because they get kickbacks from the finance companies they use per Chaz and Stratos! Go figure! I am from Massachusetts and the dealers up here pale in comparison in terms of piling up fees to the advertised price of a vehicle for sale. I have never experienced anything like this before. I don't know how dealers are regulated to operate in Florida, but CarHeroes should be unlawful to operate! I am going to report them to the Department of Business and Professional Regulation, the Better Business Bureau and the DMV.org. This was a fantastic experience from beginning to end. My car was totaled in an accident and I searched and searched for my "perfect" replacement. I spoke with Will, asked a lot of questions over a period of days while I was trying to decide and go through the insurance process, which he readily answered, and was able to purchase this car after Christmas vacation with family. He showed up early to work before they opened to ensure that I would have enough time to test drive and complete the process since he knew I had a long drive ahead of me. I was looking around for a Ford Edge, I found one with a good price here, so we went to check it out and it looked like a good option, so before we considered buying, we had our mechanic come look at it. To our surprise, there was no insulation pad on the hood and MANY pieces of insulation fell down into the car around the engine and engine components, especially pieces around the fan belt. We immediately notified them of the problem and they were quick with a solution, they stated they would have it cleaned and get a new part, for which this case was extremely weird, insulation parts in the engine? I called and asked if the car was ready and they said that it was ready, within a few days we went and purchased the car. (The car came with only 1 key fob and they did not know the code to the keypad entry). After buying the car i went to get it serviced and have the oil changed, and the mechanic STILL found pieces of insulation foam and they did not do as they said they were going to do. So i went back to show them what we had found and the basis of that was horrible, the person working was extremely rude, wouldn't let me talk and instead of asking what he could do to help, i got "I don't know what you expected from coming in here today". If the employee would have let me spoke i would have explained that i was wondering if they could at least help with something like getting us the second key or paying to get the code to the door since they didn't do as they said, with something like foam insulation in the engine. I had to walk out and leave because the employee was being so rude and couldnt be bothered to help at all, probably because we already bought the car and they got their money. read more

I'm never moved to write reviews. Moreover, I buy cars with frequency. I know the dance better than most. In fact, friends and family alike consult with me prior to their purchases given my expertise. That said, I was compelled to write one here. Absolutely deplorable experience with this CarHeroes. To summarize: I inquired about an Audi for sale and asked politely that the car be taken to a local Audi dealer (at my expense) for a pre-purchase inspection. Typical, standard request. Was lectured for the request and told, repeatedly, that CarHeroes hasn't the staff to accommodate such a request. I even offered to pay a valet or the like for his/her time. Flatly refused. Days pass. All of a sudden, salesman is back in touch, all too happy to heed my request--only after admitting that the CarHeroes owner put a special bonus on moving that car. Suddenly, the impossible is possible. Salesman arranges not one but two inspections. The day of inspection comes and goes, no word. Then another day. Finally, salesman gets back in touch to inform me that the inspecting Audi dealer BOUGHT THE CAR. This happens without my knowledge. So, to summarize: I ask the car be inspected, am told no. Salesman admits to added financial incentive, changes his mind. Then car is sold out from under me without warning, to the very place I'd asked the car be taken. I confront salesman as to this tactic, he blames "market fluidity." I tell him verbatim that such fluidity is, in fact, deception. read more

We found CarHeroes through USAA's car buying service, which provides a price the consumers will pay utilizing TrueCars no hassle transparent cost. When we arrived, we spoke with a salesman and went through the whole process of looking at the car. Once we were pretty interested, he explained the cost process and the difference in price using their preferred financing vs others. (CarHeroes utilizes Capitol One for their financing.) When we showed the document showing the price we were quoted through the service, they told us there must have been an error on our side and the price was incorrect. The price we received through USAA was the exact same as their "preferred payment discount". This is blatantly a tactic geared to get you to finance through them so they can receive whatever incentive from Capitol One, seeing as even consumers with excellent credit receive high interest rates. read more

This was a great place ! I'll get to why it's four stars and maybe you can pick it out yourself. This place was very welcoming ( the people ) when we parked which we weren't sure where to , a nice young tall skinny gentlemen greeted us to see if we needed help. We told him why we were there and he said no rush look around and tell me when you're ready. So I find a few to test drive and it is packed so this isn't a star loss. It's not anyone's fault but he said it would take a good minute to do that. So we waited patiently and then someone else found someone else to test drive with me. Great guy. Tony I think. Anyway. We test drive two cars and I had my heart set on the first one. So we get ready to start that process. Mind you it's very busy and I take that into account. They did an amazing job for how packed it was. Because it's a great and very affordable place to buy a car ! Anyway it takes forever to get through the buying process. Like I said it's busy. But once Tony's done with the credit check and seeing if we qualify etc etc you know that drill. We head over to another building. That's another thing. I wasn't a fan of walking back and forth and back and forth to do business. Anyway after that's FINALLY done tony Takes us to where we'll purchase the car , talk payments , transfer tags and a million things. So from my understanding tony didn't exactly communicate with Brian we were waiting so brian has no clue other than forms he got. He thought we were still wandering outside. Again they are stupid busy I get it but we waited an hour before my dad got a little miffed at the diabetic guy which I'm sorry for ! He can be a little extra sometimes. Anyway an hour later we finally get Brian's attention. He's the jack of all trades here doing ten jobs. I commented thee! The process with Brian took half my life lol. Even without that happening it still took awhile BUT I'd you think about it all the stuff you have to do with the car before it's yours..... he gets it done in a matter of two hours maybe. Instead of days. Basic idea here is make sure you have all day for this place on a weekend. They sold cars left and right. Brian was very nice and knowledgeable I was happy to have a salesman like him. Once we're ready to pay.... guess what .... back to the first building we were at to run our card. Then BACK around the second building to finish things up and we're done. The time. The walking back and forth , lack of communication and just kind being under staffed and waiting way too long for the success they are is what loses the star. They are the best cars , very affordable and great people. I definitely recommend this place ! Don't be afraid to speak up about anything but be courteous. It's okay to ask questions when it pertains to waiting , why this is like that or this is like those etc just be polite. Anyway. I'd also have the salesman ( not the y'all black skinny young man who was awesome !!!) be a little more knowledgeable about each car. Tony didn't seem to know tooo muchhhhhh but he knew enough ! I've had my fair share of what's considered luxury vehicles so I knew what to ask. I hope the friend I recommenced comes your way cause I told her how awesome you guys are. Tip. Buy a bigger lot. I reached out on Tuesday 9/13 about purchasing a 2022 Ford Maverick XL. I spoke with Kyle. I told him I wanted to purchase the vehicle in question, and he said that sounded great and that he would send over a credit application which he did that evening. I asked if there was anything I needed to do to reserve the vehicle and he said a version of "No, we wouldn't sell the vehicle from under you." I filled out the application that Tuesday night. I heard nothing on Wednesday 9/14 and called on Thursday 9/15 morning. I spoke with William who informed me that the vehicle I was told was mine had been sold. They only had the next model up which they were willing to sell me but at no discount or deal of any kind to resolve their mistake. They offered what they said was a better financing rate, but it was still at a higher interest rate than I was eligible for according to their website. They kept insisting that it was my fault for not putting down a deposit, but I was not told I needed to do this by Kyle. Then they said that Kyle was new and was still learning their process which was why he had told me one thing and then they had done a different one. All of this meant that they made a mistake that would have cost me $4000 or more and they would not do anything to help fix that mistake. read more

I found two cars that I wanted to test drive with CarHeroes in Jacksonville, FL because their prices were competitive. The first car came out and had a loud "tic" coming from the engine bay as it turned the corner. I asked to see the second one since there was something not right with the engine and it had a large number of dings and paint chipping all around the car. The second car, which I ended up buying, was much better. I liked it and decided to test drive it. I had to turn around before the test drive even began at around a quarter mile after leaving the dealership. Needless to say, I didn't get a feel for the car and didn't get it above 35 mph. We took a break to think about the rough numbers and weigh out all our options (since I have been looking for this particular car for about a year now and didn't want to miss a thing) and to eat; we needed to give our 3 kids a break since we drove 2 hours to buy this car. When we got back, I had to go through and explain my USAA pricing to the guy because it was apparently not valid; the salesperson was seemed understand what I was saying but kept trying to give me the go-around until I showed him whet I was walking about on my bank app. Once we got that settled, we went on to the paperwork. It took us about 2 hours to get through that whole process and right before we were done, I reminded the sales guy that the car was out of gas. He has one of his coworkers put fuel in it as well as my temp tag and we finish up. We finished up, they were very patient with our boys as they were starting to get restless, and my wife and kids left in our other car to meet a friend. I drove away in my new car and noticed that when the guy "gassed up," he didn't even put half a tank in. When we finally left Jacksonville to go home in Georgia, I felt some shakiness at certain speeds. I couldn't get it checked out as soon as I got back because of work but as soon as I got a short day (3 weeks later) I took it to the shop to get the tires balanced and rotated, get an alignment done if it needed it, and to get services done since I felt I couldn't trust the dealership's judgement at this point. I got a call from the shop and they said the shakiness was from a bent wheel. They also suggested that whomever inspected the car and sold it, put that bent wheel furthest from the driver (rear passenger side) to hide it as much as possible. Since I couldn't do any highway driving during the test drive, I never noticed it. I called the salesperson I worked with at this dealership because it is a safety issue and he disregarded my complaint stating the "As Is" sign that was on the car when I bought it. I would have had them fix the bent wheel if I would have known what was wrong with it in the beginning. We talked for a while and even gave me the impression he was blaming me for the issue since it had been so long before I took the car to the shop. I only drive ~3 miles to work and there is no speed limit above 40mph. The thing he did say is that he would ask the manager if they could do anything for me (although it was a safety issue that was well hidden until after the purchase was made) and would call me back if there was anything he could do. That was exactly a week ago and I have still not gotten any reply from him. I don't mind getting the replacement wheel and wouldn't have really cared about it as much if they had told me there was an issue. The salesperson told me that they inspect the cars before they are sold so someone must have known about a bent wheel if they checked every part of the car. If I knew about it, I would have just been more cautious and not taken my kids with me on our 2 hour drive back home from Jacksonville. If they would have told me it would have been a different situation. I understand this dealership isn't like other, big-name dealerships, but trying to hide wheel damage is reckless and dangerous. read more
