The biggest issue was the management and the overall work environment. There was a level of…read morefavoritism, poor communication, and unnecessary workplace drama that made the job far more stressful than it needed to be. Management often failed to communicate properly with employees, and concerns didn't always feel like they were taken seriously. Instead of creating a professional and supportive workplace, the environment often felt toxic and uncomfortable. Some employees contributed to the negativity as well, with gossip, attitudes, and behavior that made it difficult to feel like part of a team. What makes it worse is that Boot Barn presents itself as a company with a strong workplace culture, but my experience at the Boise location did not reflect that. Good employees shouldn't have to constantly deal with poor leadership or a hostile atmosphere just to do their jobs. There are some good people who work there, but unfortunately, good coworkers can't make up for poor management and a toxic workplace culture. I would strongly encourage anyone considering working at this location to ask a lot of questions about management and employee turnover before accepting a position.

We were immediately greeted by a cheerful clerk, named Shree (I hope I spelled her name correctly). She asked if she could help us and we said yes that my cousin was looking for dark denim jeans with no distress, faded nor rips in them. She took us to the section where the pants are located and started to select several pairs to try on and she took us to the dressing room where my cousin could try on the pants. I waited outside of the dressing rooms in a comfortable chair. I have been to several Torrid stores in the Bay Area in California and I have used their dressing rooms. None of them were as nice and as spacious as the Torrid in Boise, ID. It had a three fold mirror that customers could step out of the dressing room and see themselves from different angles while anyone accompanying the customer could sit and wait and/or watch as the customer showed them how a potential outfit looks on. The salesclerk, Shree, was awesome! She continued to bring other pant sizes and options when the first pair of pants didn't work for my cousin. Then when my cousin said she was thinking of getting a bra, Shree offered to select a few bras for her to try on. Shree even stepped inside of the dressing room with my cousin after asking if she could enter to measure my cousin for her bra size. It was a good thing that she did because my cousin's size had changed since the last time she bought a bra. At the same time as Bree was helping us, she also set up dressing rooms for two other potential customers to try on clothes. She also catered to those two women bringing them various dresses that they were looking for. Shree was good at multitasking and making each customer feel like they had her individual attention. In addition, to ringing up customers who were ready to make a purchase. All done with a cheerfulness that made our shopping experience positive. She provided excellent customer service. Thank you very much!

Today we got great service, a sale price, and even got an additional $10 off on a coupon, because we are "Eddie Bauer Friends". ---Update to Review on April 8th, 2016--- More good news to report about Eddie Bauer. The shoes I purchased felt fine while trying them on in the store, but I wore them two days and they began to make my feet and hips hurt. The fit was just off. Well, Eddie Bauer gladly accepted the return, and I got all my money back. Later that day, we returned to the store to buy three pairs of pants that were on sale for 40% off. Very cool! Provided…read moreamazing customer service, and this is coming from someone who has worked in customer service and retail her entire working career. Story time: my boyfriend and I have just moved to the boise area from an area that had a moderate climate where legitimate winter wear does not exist and isn't needed. The best and warmest we have are $25 jackets from Costco that act more as windbreakers. I went on a hunt for good quality coats for us about a month ago, did a ton of online research and browsing. Eddie Bauer was a recommendation from local family members but the price points were a little bit of a sticker shock for me. Thankfully, just in time for the upcoming snow and bitter cold, EB had a killer sale. We bit the bullet and placed our order online for two coats we really wanted because the Boise store didn't have the exact color, style or the sizing we wanted. Waited patiently for our shipment to arrive, only to have the arrival date pushed back twice. Delivery date came and next thing I know our address was determined to be "unshippable" and the package was being sent back to Ohio with no way of stopping it. I made many frantic calls to EB Customer service and to fedex. I was told my only option was to wait for the items to return back to Ohio (14 day wait), then EB would issue a refund and our order would go back into their inventory without any notification. The exact items we wanted would then be available to all and as of now the items are listed as sold out. So our coats could potentially be sold to someone else. If we were lucky and diligent in calling everyday, we could possibly get them sent back to us with express shipping (so now we are looking at getting them towards the end of December). All of it was a big MAYBE and I didn't want to waste mine or EB's time and frustration of calling customer service everyday between now and then. I was pretty upset and frustrated at this point and still without coats, without the refunded money, and snow and bitter cold closing in. Seriously I was on the verge of tears. We decided to go into the Boise store and explain our situation to the manager. This is where Stetson came in! I showed him our order and tracking proof, told him of our troubles and asked if he would be able to honor the sales pricing we got if we could find comparable coats in the boise store today. He said he would and then he went above and beyond by becoming our personal shopper without us even having to ask. He helped us find comparable coats and searched for the right sizing and helped us settle on colors. I didn't feel rushed and he was friendly and informative through the entire thing. Although the coat I got wasn't the exact one I originally wanted and my boyfriends is a different color than the one we ordered we are both extremely happy. Stetson completely turned our entire EB experience around. It will still be a few weeks until we get our refund from EB online customer service but at least we won't have to freeze or wonder if we will ever receive coats at all this winter in the meantime. Thank you Stetson! You have turned us into two loyal EB customers.

The staff is friendly, helpful, and welcoming, and the store is clean, organized, and easy to shop. I'm so glad we have a Nordstrom Rack in the area--I'll definitely be back!

October 23 is the official opening date for this Rack at The Village outdoor mall in Meridian, next…read moreto the newly opened Barnes and Noble, but yesterday, October 21, they held a "by invite only" opening event and I attended. I use Rack to easily return things I order by mail from regular Nordstrom, where I have been a card holder since my college years and that was a literal lifetime ago, and this is much closer to my house than the Boise store. So, I was eager to see inside and said "yes" when I received an email from Nordstrom asking if I'd like to attend a pre-opening event. Based on my "look see" at the inside of the store, if you are a Rack-shopper-person and enjoy the Rack in Boise, this store seems much larger and brighter and new with lots of stock and friendly people so you'll probably love this one. Now to the pre-opening event itself, to suggest a different view than A.M.'s 3 star rating comments. She is correct that it did seem employees were letting in anyone who lined up in the very, very long line inside instead of checking the e-tickets sent to invitees. As someone alongside me in the tight space inside the store said, "So much for reservations only. PLEASE!" My response was that what looks feasible in plan sometimes doesn't work on the ground and improvising is necessary. Given the long line and that some people had several friends and family members with them (including multiple children including stroller age) it may be the employees felt they couldn't manage crowd behavior if they were reviewing tickets at the entry to allow only ticket holders access. I assumed, as A.M. did, that this would be a controlled gate. But when I showed up at 4:00 for the 4:00 to 6:00 entry option (the other option was 7:00 to 9:00 but that is after my bedtime) the line was already very long and growing rapidly. Nordstrom had employees on the sidewalk reminding people this with a ticket only event, and also asking them to please not block the entry doors of other retailers as people were doing that. There was also a sign at the Rack door saying "ticketed event" but many people ignored that. It also looked as if employees were metering in so that the store didn't get overwhelmingly full and waited for some to exit before allowing others in. I imagine for people with tickets who were waiting a long time in line that this was frustrating but it was necessary to avoid a crush in the store. Employees were lined up inside as shoppers entered using "applause sticks" to welcome us in and thank us for coming. They managed to keep this a couple of ticks short of chaos and some people were actually shopping for items and then lining up at check stands to buy them. They also had a DJ set up in the back and a free refreshments stand with cans of beer, sparkling wine, water, cookies and pretzels and people were lining up there too (free stuff has fans always it seems) and then strolling around the store munching and sipping. I applaud the Nordy's staff on the ground at the event for their friendly grace in all of this. As I was leaving an Nordy's employee standing outside the door thanked me for coming and said "come see us again on Thursday" (opening day). I laughed and said I would probably wait a couple of months until the horde abated and she chuckled, "Probably wise."
