Not only did they have just what we were looking for, they were very accommodating in answering many questions, always helpful with straightforward, no nonsense advice, and not at all pushy the way many sales people can be. Our sectional was delivered flawlessly, with great care, and kindness. We are very happy we found such a dedicated family business to work with and highly recommend them to anyone looking for furniture. We also saw the same sectional "on sale" at Cardi's for a few hundred more. Friends have shared stories of their difficulties in ordering furniture during this time and while the whole industry is dealing with setbacks, especially family run stores, they communicated well and were great to work with. This is one of those stores that looks small but that you could spend longer than you thought browsing in. Unlike many vintage shops with mildew and funky smelling items, everything here is pristine and clean. You never know what you'll find ... home decor, furniture, jewelry, wall art. The staff is SO helpful here ... as near as I can tell its an all-female owned collective. There are a few different sellers who have space here, so its a varied theme. The owner was absolutely super helpful in answering questions and facilitating a sale. She even helped us park and load a small piece of furniture into our car. I really can't say enough great things about the owner's helpfulness and the friendliness of her staff. We make it a point to stop here each time we pass through or by Newburyport and each time we come across something new and fun. There are a few similar shops in town but we find the selection and prices are the best here. Newburyport itself is such a fun little town to walk around. It feels like a little town in England. They even have a small store which sells English goods across the street from Green Plum. (see my review of that shop.) The only thing I'll say is that it would be nice if there was some hand sanitizer at the door when you walk in. And because there are a lot of cool things to look at in a long, narrow shop, it can get a bit crowded near the cash register area from a social distancing aspect.

Over the years I have traveled from Kennebunk Maine to Newburyport in search of something special for my home and they never disappoint. The owner Carrie has unbelievable Good taste when it comes to buying for her shop. She has been extremely helpful and has given so much of her valuable time to assist me. Every time I go there I find the decor refreshed with something new to feast your eyes on. I have purchased a carpet, sofa, a chair, Moroccan end tables (which she had custom made for me) ,Lighting and lots of decorative items. I have also found the staff knowledgable and helpful. Their upholstery is 8-way hand-tied springs! and kiln dried hardwood frames, which are hard to find at their price point today. Quality, quality, quality! I sing Red Bird's praises to everyone and I highly recommend their other shops (Wish Basket and Nola).

I really like being able to find cards that are unique & somewhat local instead of CVS, target type places. I spent more time in this store than I should've but bought several birthday cards that were pretty neat. Many of them were either made from recycled materials or had soy free ink, not the usual Hallmark crap. The store is a decent size & they have other random household items that they sell here. They have a rather large selection of jewelry with many earrings that I would appreciate that dangle. They also have a good selection of candles and if you stand right in front of the selection the aroma is just amazing! Today I walked out with seat kelp soap and candle. They come in small, medium and large sizes. The bags can be washed in the washing machine and she does have a policy that if your bag needs repair you can send it back to her and she will fix it for no charge! Pretty cool huh? I purchased my first bag from her and loved it so much that I am having her make me a custom bag. They are sturdy as heck and easy to fold up and store.
