Came in and immediately felt comforted by Miss Shannon who greeted me at the desk and repeatedly reassured me that all would be taken care of ie first priority = me and my health. I had just gotten insurance, and didn't have my proper paperwork. Her demeanor stayed steady throughout, and later when all had calmed down, she walked me through options for coverage in all cases. Nurse Christen and ER Tech Sandra were warm, efficient, and personable when they checked in with me. Christen, whom I saw several times through the visit was consistent and helped me feel like she really had my back throughout. Radiologist Keith was equally warm and helpful, patiently explaining my CT procedure to me. And Dr Racey helped me work through my various ideas as to what might be going on while being absolutely direct and honest with his answers, including what he didn't know and couldn't confirm. He was also clear in his recommendation to me to do what was needed to rule out stroke completely, and set up an emergent MRI for me at Seton Hayes nearby. I was SO grateful for that. Total, trustworthy, boss handling. In case it matters to anyone reading: no stroke, mass, or bleeding in my brain/neck. On to the Neurologist we go. 5 stars EASILY.

When I asked if they could recommend another clinic that might work with me, the front desk staff said they "didn't know." It was honestly disappointing and discouraging. If you're struggling financially or don't have insurance, be aware that they will not work with you at all. I left without care even though I genuinely needed medical help. Typical American healthcare experience -- expensive and inaccessible when you need it most.

They have everything setup very user friendly on the app & online which made setting up appointment very easy and also found they were in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield which was a plus! Once in an ER room, the nurse, Teresa(I believe) was very up front and told us everything they were going to do. I have never seen a medical team swarm around someone the way those nurses did my mom! It was awesome! The doctor on duty that day was Dr.Torey Elizabeth Alling, MD. She truly knows what to look for by "reading the room". The fact that my mom is almost 84 and had Flu A&B and pneumonia, Dr. Alling immediately went into action and drew a lot of blood, got a CATcscan and ECG. Turned out, my mom was in Afib! The Dr. admitted her right away and put her on oxygen and a breathing treatment, as her oxygen was low...due to the pneumonia. The first nurse we had was Bryant. He was helpful and kind and friendly. Our second nurse was Tommy (overnight nurse). Tommy was A+, 100% FANTASTIC! He truly listened to my mother's concerns on some of the meds that were prescribed to her and consulted with the doctor (Dr. Mac). They adjusted the medication to fit her needs and help her rest. WOW! Truly amazing care at Baylor, Scott & White. The morning nurse was Rumi and he was also very friendly and helpful! The staff here is concerned with their patients. My mom was asleep and Rumi was going to come to check on her, but waited because she was asleep. So nice since usually when you're in the hospital, the nurse will come in, turn the lights on and wake you up startled. They knew she hasn't been sleeping, so he let her rest. My mom was discharged with in-home PT. Dr. Mac is a caring and knowledgeable doctor and Dr. Alling was so wise to do all those tests, knowing the "perfect storm" my mom was experiencing for Afib or worse. I am thankful for this staff and wish them all good health and I encourage them to keep up the stellar work they are doing! Two thumbs up, 10 stars and all the good vibes, thanks and prayers to all the staff that helped us during our visit. I am referring everyone to this BSW in Buda!!! Thank you again.

I had a very disappointing experience at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center's Emergency Room. My…read moredaughter was crying in severe pain from what appeared to be a migraine or severe headache, and before deciding whether to check her in, I simply wanted to ask if the hospital had the appropriate equipment and specialists to treat her condition. If not, I was prepared to take her elsewhere. Unfortunately, the receptionist, Jessica, was on her phone when I approached. When I asked my questions, she was rude, dismissive, and spoke in a condescending tone. Rather than showing empathy or helping us understand our options, she responded, "This is an emergency room hospital," in a way that made it clear she didn't want to be bothered. As a parent with a child in tears and obvious pain, compassion and professionalism matter. Instead, I left feeling like my daughter would not receive the care or attention she needed. Because of that interaction alone, I made the decision to drive 40 minutes from Kyle to Dell Children's Medical Center in Austin. The difference in care was night and day. From the moment we arrived at Dell Children's, the staff was compassionate, attentive, and made us feel like my daughter's well-being truly mattered. I understand working in an emergency department is stressful, but there is never an excuse for treating worried parents and children with such a lack of empathy. First impressions matter, especially in healthcare. I sincerely hope Baylor Scott & White addresses this, because no family should feel discouraged from seeking care due to the attitude of the person greeting them.

I have two titanium plates and 9 fractures in my left arm from a previous motorcycle crash. I thought I re-fractured some. My pain was a level 9, and the doctor wanted to give me ibuprofen and when I told him I could have went to my medicine cabinet for that, he said he wouldn't prescribe anything stronger until he saw a fracture on the X-rays. I got upset and decided to go somewhere to get real treatment. This place is a joke along with their mission, and vision statement. WORST EXPERIENCE in an ER I've ever had.

They don't balance bill after your insurance pays them (plus whatever your portion is, under insurance). I did their detox program. While I didn't like not being able to interact with anybody other than staff (I mean, it's a hospital setting, so...), they have Roku Tvs with Netflix in the rooms, and you can sign into any of your own services. Jason and Tina in particular are amazing, but I had no negative experiences with anyone working there. I will say, if you're there long enough for a meal, it's going to be a frozen dinner that they throw in a microwave. The upside is you have an exact calorie and carb count, if that matters (I'm on insulin, I have to dose based on carb intake - they let me self administer since I'm on an insulin pump). At one point they apparently would order from restaurants, but that probably cut into the CEOs hush fund too much (joking) Thr care is great. The food is terrible (I mean... It's a frozen dinner). The bill will max out your deductible (and likely your out of pocket even on a HDHP). But they truly do care, and they've stayed in touch to see how I'm doing. I know how to check a background, I know what a thorough exam and appointment is, and I know what rushing a patient through in order to see more patients a day for money means to the patient. Additionally, I can recognize better equipment and practices. I had a great doctor in Dallas (Dr. Bonnet) and I could not find a satisfactory one after moving to Austin that met my scrupulous checks & desire for excellence. At other offices I was rushed through appointments, kept waiting endlessly due to overbooking, or not questioned well during the appointment or answered thoroughly...or not called back when I had a question or needed something or had to get a refill, etc... Dr. Browining is unique & wonderful!! And I thank the above posters who allowed me to finally find him! You are not only never kept waiting for much time at all, he is amazingly smart in discussions, he is so thorough in questions and answers that you feel you are his only patient... He has state-of-the-art equipment. He is caring, thorough, and beyond impressive. I've already recommended him and immediately gotten the response back that he was an incredible doctor who spends a great deal of time to ensure you are cared for. He will not schedule unecessary procedures or cram patients in as so many doctors do when a monetary business becomes a goal over care...yet, like today when I needed an ultrasound, (which is what made me think to write this), he ensures I immediately get the care needed. Care is evident in this office...but that means very little if the physician isn't a brilliant doctor...and I've been beyond impressed in that regard as well. He obviously is one of those doctors with a passion for what he does and for what's current in medical journals. I joined Yelp for one reason alone...I thought I'd be remiss in not giving credit where credit is due. I looked for 3 years for a doctor I liked in Austin. I used to have to drive to Dallas to go to my old doctor because no one else's practice ever measured up. He immediately addressed the issue in his office rather than referring me to a dermatologist to do the dirty work. I truly did need immediate attention and he gave it to me. I can't speak highly enough of him and his assistant for bravely going where no one should have to go. I hope this does not sound like an exaggeration, but I feel like I owe my life to him. It has only been a day, and I'm still a mess, but I have to express my gratitude to this incredible doctor. I also want to publicly apologize for cursing as he cut into it. I hope your medical emergency gets taken care of by Dr. Browning, or someone as talented and compassionate as he is.
