I waited 45 minutes in the examination room, and when the doctor finally came in he was very rude and had a horrible bed side manner, and made me feel like I was inconveniencing him. None of the nurses smile and the one particular one that was attending me was very sarcastic. Also, (having no insurance) I was told I would be charged $120 for my visit as long as I did not have any additional tests, labs, etc. done, I did not get anything extra done and they charged me $167, when I asked why it was more than I was told, the nurse said "it's what the doctor saw fit to charge you". Then the prescription he wrote me was $75 for the generic brand and it didn't even work. I ended up taking the prescription he gave me and when I finished taking the antibiotic I was still sick. I ended up going to PRIMACARE (so much better) and they prescribed me a $4 antibiotic THAT WORKED! read more

We read the reviews before going to this clinic. Sounded good. we are currently "private pay" so we were sure to check out how much the visit would be before hand. We were advised $130 for an office visit and x-rays, test, or injections would be extra. Understood. We checked in online, got a call about 20 minutes later and were told they were running behind and they would probably get us in in about an hour. 2 hours go by and we decide to call them back. We were advised to just come in. So we did. We got there, filled out paperwork and they got us into a room within 5 minutes where we waited for an additional 45 minutes before the doctor could see us. He apologized for the wait and was very helpful even advised us that we would save money if we got a prescription for steroids instead of a shot. Ok. We kept going with the flow. So, I went to check out and the clerk at the front advised me that the visit was now $170. I asked her why it was more than what we were quoted and she showed me a form that showed that office visits were $130 but due to the complexity of the visit it was now $170 because the $130 rate was for returning patients who are getting refills. I asked her what the complexity of the visit was. She said the complexity was the diagnosis and the prescriptions that were written. I can't see how that is different from an "office visit". Be advised that if you go in for a diagnosis and need prescriptions written that they will probably charge you extra. Never going back. read more

I am one of the lucky few that actually still has decent insurance. In fact it is really good. I live in Arizona and I am visiting Plano TX. I woke up with a very red and very irritated eye. I did a little searching and found Care Now. I went online and filled out everything and received a call back in about 45 minutes saying it was a 5 our wait (this is the day after Christmas and not unexpected). The disturbing part was that the VERY snippy lady on the phone told me they be charging me for the full amount of the services as my insurance deductible was not met. i told her that i am pretty sure that is not the case as I don't think we had a deductible or that it was met previously as I took my daughter into an urgent care back in AZ and paid a small co-pay and that was it. She dug in and basically told me I had no idea what I was talking about and she was absolutely certain. So I tell her that I or my wife will call her back and it must be a mistake. She basically gives the hard press on the appointment, I say one of us will call you back. I know that if I do, it will get ugly so I have my wife call her with a copy of our policy in hand. Things went every bit as poorly with her as well. The lady on the phone was adamant about the deductible. My wife ended up hanging up in frustration. So my wife called our provider and they confirmed that there was no deductible and the Care Now had to be mistaken. My wife then asked if this was some sort of issue and the provider indicated that it was not the first issue with Care Now. To make a long story short, if you are paying cash, I am sure they are great (I don't know as I went to a competitor that understood my insurance), but they do not care enough to investigate further when you dare to contradict the supreme ruler of the front desk! So one star for being rude and too ignorant to get the money from a paying customer! I would think their follow up may have the possibility of being just as poor in other billing practices and god forbid the paperwork on meds and health follow up. read more

I arrived just before it opened. The doctor was attentive to my questions and addressed my concerns. Service was prompt and they had the fore site to obtain lab work early in based on my symptoms to improve wait time. Everybody was professional and friendly. I preregistered the night before (after hours), but didn't d wait for them to call me. Excellent service,. Set an appointment online, they called five minutes later to let me know they were running two hours late and would call me 30 minutes before they could see me. I was so surprised when they did call back and when I get there I only had a five minute wait and was show into a room. Excellent service!!!! read more

It is so sad to see that the ones who are in charge of your health are thieves and liars who try to get rich quick by ripping you off. I sent my son to the CareNow on Spring Creek PKWY in Plano, TX for flu treatment. the front desk lady told him the charges would be $110.00 to maximum 158.00 Dollars. Dr. Vivian Jones charged and over charged my son for every step of diagnosis when it would have been free or charges explained by the other care providers. by the time it was said and done, less than 5 minutes, the bill was $350.00 . Had a great experience here. Checked in online and was quoted a one hour wait time. In less than an hour they called and said my room was ready, and when I arrived, I only had to wait a few minutes before being called back. The staff was very nice. I was diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection and given a shot and two prescriptions and was on my way. Overall it was a quick and pleasant experience and I'll definitely return in the future for my medical needs. I even received a follow-up call the next day. read more

And web check-in is the best. Once we receive the call to come to the clinic-we only have to fill out a few papers and then we are back in an exam room in no time. I spent 3 hours at their place the first day. The first dose of medicine made the symptoms much worse and i have been calling them about 10 times and they keep rerouting me or keeping me on hold before they answer my call. Even after that the Doctors are so precious that they dont have time/interest to come on the phone for their patients that too when their prescription is not working well. The doctor will only talk to us if we pay them again for a visit. They have stupid policies and just dont know any word other than Policy Policy Policy. Just a few patients to attend and still they take hell amount of time to cater to them. A lot of time wasting and lot of unnecessary information to fill and still the medication is no good. read more

I have been going to this CareNow for many years after work. I put myself or my family member on the list by web check in. In about 15-20 minutes, someone usually calls and tell me how long the wait is. It's usually one to two hours, which is ok because we are waiting at home. In the past few years, however, when we were called to come in, we also had to wait about an hour in the lobby. I always wondered why we were told to come in if they were not ready for us. However, this time, we only waited about 5 minutes to go into a room and 5 minutes later, doctor came in. Doctor was very nice and both my daughter and I liked him. I really like the fact we did not have to wait in the lobby for along time. I hope this is the new standard for CareNow. If not, it should be. When a sick person gets a call to come in, have a room waiting for them. Also, I have a new insurance that no one ever heard of before and the ladies at front desk only let me pay our deductible, even though they could not verify at the time of our visit. When I arrived after receiving my Web Check-in call, I was not greeted at all. I don't remember the name of the tall male with the dark hair behind the counter, but he was absolutely awful. Seemed inconvenienced that I was there, was completely dismissive. He didn't seem to know what to do or how to do his job, no ability to multi-task let alone follow a single task without issue. Once I finally made it into a room after waiting nearly 30 minutes (Why bother calling me if you weren't ready to receive me like you said? I drove 20 minutes and still had to wait a half hour before even getting a room.), I had the displeasure of dealing with Dr. Lam. She had zero bedside manner, and honestly did not listen to what was going on with me, the patient. I would not call her a competent doctor. She barely made eye-contact, hardly anything I or my boyfriend said seemed to register with her at all; it was like she didn't care what we were telling her about my symptoms. She prescribed me the wrong medication after I specifically told her my insurance wouldn't cover it, and the other medications she gave me I basically felt I had to fight for so I could get SOME relief from a $35 visit. Why bother being a doctor if you're not there to listen and actually help people? Why is it SO difficult to acknowledge and give a patient what they need? It's not like I walked in with an illness I had never experienced before. This wasn't the first time I had experienced this illness (tis the season), but Dr. Lam acted like it was the first time she had to actually give any treatment. I'd rather spend $150+ at a real urgent care facility than deal with Dr. Lam again. I will say that Alma was nice and the person that checked us out was pleasant enough, but that hardly makes up for anything. I even called back the next day requesting information and possibly other assistance; neither the nurse nor Dr. Lam were helpful (again). I will not be visiting her again, nor do I recommend that anyone else take the chance on spending their money to feel like you don't matter, and to receive hardly any assistance or satisfaction. Pass on this location. Go elsewhere. read more
