I called twice for information pertaining to a CDL physical I had done here trying to find out if my information had been submitted through the proper channels to be attached to my drivers license. I spoke with MALLORY both times and got ZERO help. This lady is rude and does not want to be bothered by phone calls. She offered zero help, refused to give me any information, would not answer any of my questions, refused to let me speak to or give me the name of a person in charge, and just kept trying to give me a phone number to somewhere that nothing to do with the information I needed from THEM. She shouldn't be dealing with the customers, and if she hates her job that bad, she should find another one. read more

The staff here are wonderful and I never have to wait a long time to be seen by the health care professionals. My frustration is with the check in process. Because I don't want to check in on my small phone screen, I am forced to use a tablet that every other sick person has touched that day. Every time I have to have my drivers license scanned, they have scanned it several times before, so why? I believe this process allows them to staff at a lower level in the reception area, but it is not a good experience for the patient. read more

Went to get a covid test and rapid strep test . Front desk receptionist was very nice. The med tech who took my vitals very nice . The Nurse Practitioner was nice at first but then light switch of personality change when I asked her what was wrong with me since the tests came back normal and my throat was swollen and felt like I it was burning: she said you went to the blue springs clinics on Monday and they diagnosed you with a sinus infection but this is more than a sinus infection . I said I agreed and asked if she could give me an antibiotic to help reduce the swelling of my tonsils. She became very angry and started telling at me telling me there is nothing I can do without a positive strep or Covid test. I said ok I understand, can you recommend anything over the counter as Advil isn't helping with the swelling . She yelled at me and told me to get out of her office . I couldn't believe her bedside manner and unprofessionalism. I was simply asking what can I take like there is a cough syrup , or mucinex to help . She said I told you there isn't anything you can take now get out . I left and cried in my car . I couldn't believe the way she was reacting and yelling at me. I paid a 75 copay to get help not get yelled out and degraded . I ended up going to the Walgreens pharmacy and the pharmacist recommended NyQuil and DayQuil cold and cough with honey . And a can of lyscol ! read more

So the registration went smoothly. The person on the front desk said I could wait in my car until it was my turn. Masks are uncomfortable but necessary so waiting in my vehicle is more pleasant. In take was more like a conversation not an interrogation. Very comfortable experience and felt well cared for. Amazing staff (even if they where short handed) I have no negative comments about my experience aside from 1 thing. There is no reason there was not more staff on sight. Overwork is real and should never happen to the people who insure we stay alive. Management... DO BETTER! Staff, you are the best! read more

CareNow has been my go to for over 2 years. I have been very fortunate to see to see top PA and NP. I've seen Alicia Cross Tipton , Kim and Terese all very knowledgeable, caring, through and very professional. I would have any of them for my primary PCP if I could. A little confusion with my check in and Shannon was very unprofessional, raising her voice and pointing her finger at me in waiting room. I admit I could have been a little more courteous to young lady and had apologized, but Shannon came out of no where to put on a scene, totally shocked me. Absolutely the worst service. I needed a biometric screen that was paid for by my insurance company and they refused to do it because I hadn't fasted for 9 hours. 10 WAYS TO SCREW UP A SIMPLE VISIT, SUCK HOURS OF YOUR LIFE THAT YOU'LL NEVER GET BACK AND NOT ACTUALLY DO THE WORK REQUIRED...WHILE DEFRAUDING THE PATIENT AND THE INSURANCE COMPANIES: #1-The online appointment scheduling is BS. You don't have a real "appointment". It's just a tool to let them know how many suckers are coming in at once. #2- I filled out all the online paperwork but it didn't go through, for some reason, and I had to fill it out AGAIN upon arrival. What a time waster. #3-The girl at the front desk said all they got was the uploaded photo of the back of my medical card. Funny..... I didn't upload one....I typed it all in myself. Hmmm. #4-Then she accidentally charged my credit card for the guy ahead of me and I had to have her remove that charge and start over so I could pay my $10 co-pay. #5-My "appointment" was at 12 and I didn't walk out of there until after 2:30. Most of that time was spent waiting for an hour and 45 minutes!!! #6- I RECEIVED NO TREATMENT! When I finally saw an NP for my clogged-up ear (after swimming 4 days ago), she looked in my ear and confirmed there was wax in there that had likely been forced deeper into my ear due to water pressure. I said "Yeah, I know...that's why I came here...to have you flush it out." She REFUSED to irrigate my ear and get the wax out so I could hear...saying that was "a 2nd line of action and more invasive". (I tried to tell her I had been DOING 1st line at home already, with hydrogen peroxide and warm olive oil, but she was deaf to that.) #7- DO IT YOURSELF- She sent me to the drug store to get some OTC ear drops (that cost me another $9) to try for a few days. If it doesn't work, I can come back and wait another 2 hours and have her irrigate and pull out the wax ball. Ironically, the drops she told me about came in a kit with a bulb syringe that I was supposed to IRRIGATE MY OWN EAR WITH after I had let the oily hydrogen peroxide type solution work for a while!!! #8- Now, I have to go back in a few days to have her actually DO the job because I can't see to do it myself and this stuff isn't working...like she knew it wouldn't. It's insurance fraud if you ask me. They are trying to suck two visits and co-pays out of you when one would have taken care of a very simple matter.....and about 6 hours of my life that I'll never get back. And ALL while being forced wearing the compliance/medical tyranny/slave mask. Basically, it seems that HCA's model of treatment these days is, "If you want healed, do it yourself"...and this "urgent care" facility has no sense of urgency when it comes to your well-being. This place is full of HCA, Big Pharma drones doing their jobs thoughtlessly, ineffectively, inhumanely and inefficiently. And the only thing driving them is the love of your money. Can't wait till they all get replaced with robots. They're already robots now and don't know it. #9-Had to make an appointment to see an ENT and waited a (deaf) week and a half for that and it was 30 minutes away. There was no way was I going to go back there and let them stick a sharp object in my ear! #10- 2 weeks later...I get a bill for $130!!! But the total charges were $490 for no other explanation other than "Medical Services"???? (Really? That's what they think they're worth?!) It seems they have STILL neglected to bill my insurance - although they did take my $10 co-pay (which was not mentioned on my bill, BTW). Is this even my bill or is this the guy's ahead of me bill? IT REQUIRED ANOTHER 30 MINUTES ON THE PHONE with their billing department...most of it waiting on hold....to straighten it out. I'm betting I'm going to get another bill in the mail in a couple of weeks and they might even ding my credit for it. (Which would technically be #11) What should have been a simple visit could not be more screwed up if they TRIED...and I kind of think they are! I sure wish there was a ZERO stars option because I got ZERO treatment. I did a pointless check-in, which told me that I would receive a call with a code to finish the online check in. When I didn't receive a call, I called and spoke to some staff member who told me to come in because the wait was only 45 minutes, there was no receptionist and because I did online check in that I would be seen before anyone waiting. LIE. I came and there was a clueless receptionist, and I waited and waited before I asked the receptionist who told me that there were two people in front of me and that I would most likely be called in before them. No, didnt happen. Asides the fact that I was here for a pre-OP Covid-19 screening, I was the only patient wearing a mask, and with cases rising, and a near mask mandate in Jackson County, if I didnt have it before with CareNow's negligence I may have been exposed to it. I asked the check in nurse and apparently the rely on people's honesty on the prescreen Covid-19 questions. Ridiculous. Additionally, when I asked the receptionist how many more were ahead of me, she had violated someone's HIPPA when she revealed that one particular man had been there for a drug test. Run away, fast! So - they offer 'rapid' Covid testing, but it takes 2 hours to be seen after you're sent a text message that they are ready for you. What they don't tell you is that there is one doctor on site and in order for them to get paid by your insurance company, the doctor must see you for your covid test. There were 4 people in line in front of me, I waited for 1.5 hours. Then I got another text saying they were ready for me. When I questioned the receptionist - who did not care at all - I was told, 'the system isn't working'. Make an appointment online, that isn't really an appointment, get a text saying they are ready and they aren't and then wait for a doctor that you don't need to see. If you have plenty of time to waste, go for it. I purchased an at-home testing kit from CVS and tested myself in 30 minutes. read more

My wife and I both went to this location (9/2 &9/5) to be tested for Covid. We did the online check in and paid the co-pay(s). The staff was friendly enough, the facility appeared clean. The online check-in was handy. That's why there are 2 stars and not 1. Bare with me. It's long but important and worth noting before coming here. This is where things turned sour. I was prescribed an inhaler by the NP and told that if I continued to get winded that I should go to the hospital. Not much past an hour after leaving, I called to ask to speak to the NP (for a referral), as the inhaler wasn't working. The NP wouldn't even take my call. Instead the rude individual at the front desk coldly told me, "that's not something they can do". She's wasn't concerned enough to ask about the inhaler she'd JUST prescribed or even to ask what was going on. Even though she'd JUST seen me. (And no, they weren't packed or busy. They had nothing but online appointments for the rest of the day.) I'm assuming it was because there wasn't any more money to be made off me. Fine. Ok. Moving on. I'm now in the ER when the subject of the inhaler not working came up. Come to find out, the NP failed to properly prescribe the "holding chamber" for the inhaler. Now, I've never used an inhaler, as I clearly told the NP. I then learned that, if used without one (or you're unfamiliar with them) the medicine won't be properly directed into the lungs and instead ends up in the back of the throat. Long story short, her over sight or imo lack of attention to details (and professionalism) cost me a trip to the ER, including a multi-hundred dollar copay!! Plus, who knows how much more once it's billed!! Unbelievable and completely unacceptable for a "medical" facility. Buuut wait...there's more....luckily my wife and I saw the LabCorp flyer and registered so we could check on the test results ourselves via the app. They never bothered to call back but instead sent a text message. . .a full week after my wife's visit when the results had been available for 5 days already! Good thing we took "their" job into our own hands. Not like people are waiting for those results in order to go back to Work, school, etc.... But wait! That's right, there's more...while my wife was given standard discharge paperwork, I was given nothing. But.."I'm welcome to come back in and get a copy of the NP's notes"...more time and money to be put out by me thanks to their incompetence. Yet another example of their lack of attention to detail and/or level of care. Overall, CareNow just another quick buck, greedy urgent care that has no real concern for they're "customers" after they've collected their money. GO ANYWHERE ELSE! Even the ER would be a better choice, if you're concerned at all about getting the proper care when ill, injured, or otherwise. Seriously. I waited two hours and even fell asleep in the waiting room! I only needed two vaccines required by work, another HCA facility, so I thought that might expedite my wait. In the end it took no more than one minute but robbed me of two hours, and made me furious! I was also told by staff members that only one person there knew what they were doing. Was told there would be no charge for my COVID test-due to being referred by my physician and the state mandate enacted in Missouri in 7/13/2020. The front counter person I spoke with acknowledged this and said that was correct. I received a bill for $155 after my insurance paid $87. I called today and the lady I spoke with stated that because I had insurance at the time I was not eligible for the $0 charge testing. This is not right, it's not about the money it's about principle. My income has been reduced this year because of COVID and this is ridiculous. My son wasn't feeling well so I decided to take him to urgent care. In walks a little kid and his mom said he had the flu. He proceeds to go into the bathroom where he coughs multiple times. The lady and the front desk didn't even spray Lysol after him. Customers were then steady coming in and using the bathroom and so did the little boy. I was there for over an hour and hadn't been seen. The coffee and snacks weren't restocked and the staff wasn't friendly. I left, I'd rather go to the ER. read more

I was prescribed medication and I got a really bad and painful side effect, when I tried to get in they did not take me in and dismissed/ignored me. They also stated that my pain was not a side effect of the medication. I ended up going to the ER and when they did the testing, it turned out it was a side effect of the medication given to me. Now I'm stuck with an ER bill which they should be responsible for paying after dismissing me. read more

Was told because I had not met my deductible I would have to pay nearly 300 dollars even though I explained to them I don't have to meet a deductible for urgent care that clearly is stated on the front of my insurance card. I have a long story but it's not even worth it. Customer service here is absolutely terrible. Went two consecutive days and both receptionists were incredibly rude to me. Went in needing a flu test (considering that i've had the flu in the past and feel the exact same) and was rejected twice saying that I had to sign up for a covid test online and that there was no times available (which i had already done online and never received a call). Did the whole world forget that there are other seasonal diseases that need to be treated? I'm all for getting a covid test, but at least test me for the flu first (a test that comes back in minutes rather than days) and then you can test me for covid. I am able to use my workplace clinic free of charge but was too sick to drive the 30 miles to work and went to CareNow. They were friendly from the moment I walked in and empathetic. I don't like going to the doc at all and they took very good care of me. Even called to check up on me the next day and then responded promptly when I called the following with new symptoms. I am convinced this place is completely inept and doesn't listen to the patient at all. I was given a nurse who couldn't even work a blood sugar meter. Then was given a Nurse Practitioner who tried to prescribe me a medication that I specifically told the first nurse that I am allergic to. I am not a person to run to the doctor for a cold but was diagnosed with one without even an influenza test. I figured when all I could do is sleep and started feeling dizzy from standing up after sitting, I'd actually go see a doctor. Don't waste your time or money. The best part was online check in. I've been in a few times and never had any issues. Wait times were relatively short (no more than 30 minutes) and the staff was friendly and helpful. I've seen 2 different doctors and a Nurse Practitioner and they were knowledgeable and had excellent bedside manner. 10/10 will go back if we need to. read more

Extremely disappointed in the place. I took my kids here 2 years ago for flu shots and it was great. This year I call and ask about it and am told to sign them up for the save my spot or whatever it is called. I then get called and asked why they are coming in and am told it will be $20 per kid even with insurance. I made the recommendation to put that on the web site and the lady was extremely rude telling me it already was. I would assume when they say there is a $20 fee that is if you don't have insurance. It needs to state with or without insurance it is still $20. They are also NOT comfortable with kids. It says they will see children but when I brought my daughter in for abdominal pain they called an ambulance. Interesting as on the ride to Children's Mercy the ambulance attendant let me know that I could have denied the need for an ambulance and just driven her myself. $600 later I know for next time. If I could give zero stars, I would. I went to the Blue Springs location in Aug 2019 for a stomach/lower back pain. I paid the $155 flat fee before my visit and was told my the nurse practitioner that it was a peptic ulcer and she prescribed me several medications, which thankfully I didn't take. The next day on my way to work the pain became excruciating so I drove myself to the Lee's Summit location. When I walked in the same lady was at the front desk and she remembered me from the day before at the Blue Springs location. She didn't charge me the flat fee. When I got back to see the doctor I told her I was pretty sure it was a kidney stone. She didn't touch or examine me and told me she wouldn't be able to help me and that I need to go to the ER. Now I'm receiving a bill for $155 for that visit even though I was misdiagnosed the first time and the doctor never touched me the second time. This resulted in 2 surgeries and a week later I ended up back in the hospital with a severe infection and was admitted for a few days. They are refusing to write the second bill off since they didn't actually treat me. I was told that since the nurse took my vitals they have to charge me. I will NEVER go back and I will be sure to tell everyone about my horrible experience. read more
