I haven't been to a PCP/GP in years, due to cancer and other medical ailments; as a result, it's…read morebeen more than 3 years since seeing my Primary Care Physician. After 3 years apparently you're discarded and considered a new patient, and every PCP office I called within the Lees Summit and surrounding areas either aren't accepting new patients or they're not scheduling new patient appointments for a minimum of 5-8 months, leaving me without help after severely injuring my back, I was in so much pain, and I needed immediate care, so I made a same day appointment (on a Sunday) at NextCare Urgent Care is Lees Summit (off of McBaine Drive), and they exceeded my expectations in every way. First, you can make an appointment online, and they honor those appointments (no matter how many walk-ins are there before you.) In addition I have received exceptional care. I've been twice in the last 2 weeks, and have had to call in multiple times. They are always quick to respond and incredibly helpful. From the front desk (who is also the R.T./x-ray tech), to the nurse who was so kind, caring and helpful, to the Dr/FNP Thomas Sims, I have received excellent care. I cannot say enough great things about them. If you need immediate care (that doesn't require going to the ER) I encourage you to make an appointment with NextCare Urgent Care in Lee's Summit. You will not be disappointed.

Spoke with the front desk of the adjacent, unaffiliated business next door. Learned that they are frequently late. Save yourself any aggregation (or worry if this is urgent) and schedule or visit elsewhere.

My family and I have been patients of Dr. Mike Ausmus for 30+ years. He was wonderful. Over the…read moreyears, though, St. Luke's primary care became worse and worse. The bureaucracy became impenetrable. Patients could not schedule an appointment without waiting months - even in an emergency or when post-hospitalization checkups where immediately needed. Patients could not call their doctors. The Central Scheduling office that handles all patient communication knows nothing about medical care, always says it will be 5 to 6 months to get an appointment, even in an emergency. And, the Urgent Care office is notoriously horrible; even St. Luke's doctors recommend going elsewhere. Since Mike retired it has become infinitely worse. We received a letter telling us we'd been "reassigned" to another doctor - like cattle. However, that was not true. When we called to make an appointment for an urgent issue, we were told we did not actually have a doctor. We would need to schedule a new patient appointment - 9 months later. I scheduled new patient appointments for each member of our family, and the doctor cancelled some of them and did not show up for the others. It's been a year now, and our children have not seen a doctor. St. Luke's management has lost its way. By putting up all these barriers between patients and doctors, they are effectively committing malpractice. I would strongly recommend choosing another primary care office.

Then they wanted to reschedule for next year. Next year??? I thought they were joking. I asked then what assurances I would have if I rescheduled the appointment. St. Lukes's said there is no guarantee any of their doctors will keep an appointment. How is this ethical behavior in the medical profession? Very disappointed.

Sad shd retired 3 or 4 years go. I am a health professional and exceptional care is very important to me. I had an appointment today . I arrived 1 or 2 minutes late and front staff had already gone to see if the " new" Dr. Davis would still see me. By the way the front office staff is the absolute best as far as caring, informative, friendly and all around absolute " dears"!!! I was told I had to reschedule!! I know patients being on time is important but in 38 years of practicing myself, I have NEVER told a patient to reschedule at 2 minutes late! As a matter of fact from a professional courtesy point of view, the staff should have never had to ask " if" I could still be seen. To each their own. . I have an appointment in 4 days and will consider whether to remain a patient at Family Care at Arbor Walk to honor the huge success Dr. Paula Davis (and Dr. Britton- Meilisch ) are now having.I also live in Overland Park so quite a drive to see a " great" doc Dr. Paula was ( she would have never told me to reschedule ) I thoroughly understand " running on time" and respecting appointment times plus the staff and patients'time and lastly " office policies" BUT 2 minutes late!!@*#!@!! But I will consider the professional courtesy that was not extended to me. 2 stars for today. Otherwise 5 stars for front office staff. 4 stars for Dr. Brityon- Meilisch( seen as an emergency at KU Medwest and Arbor Walk.

If possible, I would avoid this medical center/hospital and redirect your emergency to another facility. I strongly advise against visiting this place. Save your money and time. My friend received extremely poor treatment when I accompanied her. The most hostile place I've been. The hostility starts at the front desk, where the receptionists for both emergency and non-emergency services are rude. The emergency department is particularly bad. The nurses are not only hostile but also seem disinterested in their work. Raven, one of the er nurses and about 5 more of them all spread negative energy throughout the department along with the nurse practitioners. You're more likely to see a nurse practitioner than a doctor. If you ask to see a doctor, they become defensive. I do want to give 5 stars to the CT scan technicians for leaving detailed notes, which another facility found helpful. Unfortunately, the nurse practitioner un disinterested in her work and rush to clear the room , overlooked this information and claimed there were no findings. The technician who performed a pelvic exam deserves only 1 star, as it caused my friend extreme pain afterward. My friend enter the facility not well and left even worst. From the nurses to the nurse practitioners, it's clear that this facility prioritizes efficiency over patient care. They seem to focus on getting patients in and out quickly. If you've had a negative experience, please leave a review to help others avoid this place.
