AGAIN, Summit Pediatrics delivered exceptional service and care! We moved out of state 9 months…read moreago, and today was my son's wellcheck with his new pediatrician (less than 1 hour later) and of course I hadn't requested records... Sigh. My lack of planning does not constitute an emergency for anyone else, and I didn't expect them to drop everything to bail me out... however, I thought, let me just ask to see what they might be able to do... So, I called the office to ask for their help in sending me records, and despite my apalling lack of notice, they accommodated me and helped me by emailing me records! Say what?!?!?! Of course, I had to comply with written authorizations, which is absolutely the right way to go... Ms. Traci was my LIFESAVER today! Seriously, talk about taking good care of their patients! And technically, since we moved out of state, we are no longer patients... and they still went above and beyond! Truly, this place is full of caring, kind and amazing individuals. Dr. Meyers and Dr. Dam have been truly awesome throughout the years, very thorough, patient and detailed, and we miss them very very much. The front staff, Chris and Traci, have always helped us professionally and today, she rescued me. We highly recommend bringing your children here; they are beyond amazing.

Upon entry, I wasn't greated with anything but: "YOU NEED TO HAVE A MASK ON". Not a "Hello" or smile before barking their outdated policy at me. I had spoken with the office staff prior to scheduling to make sure my insurance was in network. After 2 weeks of no response, I called back and asked again. They said there shouldn't be any issues so I went ahead and was seen. A month later I received a bill for $1500 stating my insurance was out of network! I called the billing office and spoke to the office manager who flat out told me: "We just check to make sure the plan is active. We don't check if we are in-network or what your benefits are." The application they use to verify the policy will tell them if they are in-network and what my benefits are.... they just choose not to look at them! In the words of the office manager: "It's like 20 pages long and we just don't have the time or the staff to look over that". I'm sorry.... WHAT???? They have the information in front of them, but CHOOSE not to look at it and then surprise their patients with a bill?! What terrible patient care and business practice!! On top of that, they are billing me the FULL insurance price. When they would have only gotten paid a fraction of that from the insurance if they had been in-network. BAD BUSINESS PRACTICE AND PATIENT ADVOCATION.

They always take care of things and our children's health. How cool are the hallways they are always decorated so nice for the kids! Upfront staff is always welcoming. Great Job!

My Baby has her flu shot last April 8, 2018 and her doctor advised us to have her follow up flu shot after a month and was also advice that no need to set an appointment coz it can be done even when you walk-in. My husband's lunch is only 30minutes so he needs to ask his Boss and tell him that he will be late to come back. We planned to bring our almost 9months old Baby today at 1pmish since it is my dayoff and since I do not drive yet my husband picks us up. But prior to go there my husband told me to still make an appointment but the person i talked with on the phone again told me no need for an appointment. Unfortunately, when we arrive in their office and check-in with the oldest(I think) staff there today and told me that they do not have stocks for the said dosage. oh really???? Then I ask her again how come you do not have stock knowing you have in your records that my daughter has a follow up flu shot one month after April 8, 2019 and the office should spare one for her then she said in a very snotty way when we are out of stock we are out of stocks" and our next stocks will be in Septemeber 2019 on which too way far for my daughter to have her follow up flu shot. And she is not even helpful when i ask her if we can do it in other clinic. Second, when I called their office about setting an appointment to make sure that we can be accommodated even walk in and told me no need which she said no need to set then I gave her my daughter's date of birth. By then after the staff pull out my daughter' file she can see actually if they still have a stocks and should advise me so no need to jeopardize my husbands lunch. But no, she didn't advice me. So our plan now is to request for all my daughters record coz we will be moving to other pediatric office. Can't take their customer service staff anymore the fact that its a pediatric clinic they(front desk) should be as friendly as they should. What a terrible experience.

Many times I have heard and or read things that others have said happened during time that they were in the hospital on some level of care of need either at the Lee's Summit site or the downtown location and I am shocked every time I have to hear people who say anything bad about them so many people who are in the same situation as myself yet they are expecting miracles or magic to happen. These Drs that are mainly students learning but by some of the same people who were serving those complaining are the best Drs around anywhere in the country They are after all just people and they are not perfect but they do try to find a fix for so many patients with a variety of needs just to make sure that they are going to get better and get those are some of the people who complain about everything in life anyway I don't know what happened to have them that could have been so bad they are after all still alive to get the chance to complain about stuff and they make me sick with the selfish attitude I don't like those kinds of people get a grip on yourself would you?

But the 2 day follow up appointment was a complete 180. Ladies at the check in were very rude, our doctor(different one) ignored our concerns, and at checkout they were chatting about what a coworker did at lunch- to the point they told us just to call to go over details later because they were busy. Seriously!?!? Very disappointed. It's obvious they put their best people in maternity, Susie, Jenna, Gabriel, and Dr. Hoke gave us a great experience with them, but after what we witnessed in family medicine... We will never come back here, already switched providers.

Due to this we haven't seen the same doctor for well visits. At my sons last well visit she was reading things off his chart asking us questions and asking us where he is now. She asked if he still used his inhaler in which we replied we lost it. She asked us more questions about why he was originally given an inhaler. We explained it's for sports or when he gets very sick with a cold and struggles to breathe. Then she also stated it might be allergy induced and prescribed Zyrtec. We leave everything's fine. Then I get a bill from them for a sick visit. I call and say I think my insurance was billed incorrectly, we came in for a well visit. I was then told since we talked about things outside of the normal well visit guidelines it was now classified as a sick visit. I explained the doctor read my son's chart and asked me those questions and at no time did she explain to me that was changing the type of visit I was in. The person I spoke to on the phone said that providers don't disclose. I don't think they should legally be allowed to change the type of visit you're in and not disclose that information. I would have never answered her questions had I known she was now classifying this as a sick visit.
