It was very inconvenient for me to be there each time I went, but I did anyways because being able to see is quite important. Plus when they say "it can't wait til Monday", you listen! However, each time I was there and again explained the same symptoms to the actual doctor, I was treated with skepticism and a dismissive attitude, like "why are you even here". The 2nd time I was there they finally looked hard enough and found something... but only after my insistence that my optometrist saw something and would not have sent me for no reason. I don't generally give bad reviews and I try to give people grace, but three different visits with 2 different doctors and it's all been the same. So, if you want to be treated with disdain and waste your time, go ahead and use their services. Otherwise, 0/10, do not recommend. At all.

I went to see him and he never looked at my eyes only read his test results on his computer. Skip to the end I had severe inflammation and pressure increases which caused a great deal of eyesight loss and 3 eye surgeries to save the eyesight I had left. All the care to take care of the problem was not done by KU eye center. As an added note the KU dr. was giving me injections every 8 weeks. Since seeing a new retina specialist I have not had to have any injections or any issues with wet AMD for over a year. makes me wonder I would not go back to KU eye for any reason ever

They are the most professional, talented, and caring specialists I have ever dealt with. They give you a reassurance that is impossible to put a price on. Retina problems are more common than one might think, but what is scary to you is easily fixable for them. Renee at the front desk signed me in without any problems. Immediately I was ushered in by Becky for some initial screening of my glasses and medical information. Next came Dr. Hinton who began the eye exam, then came time to screen me for Glaucoma. He explains everything to you. This was followed by the dilation of my eyes for a more in depth exam. The office (one of three locations; others are in Topeka & Manhattan) here in Lawrence, KS, is new and very nice. The bathroom was so clean, very spacious and nicely decorated - nothing over the top yet it has clean lines and I loved the floor. The Ladies room has two (2) stalls, too! For THE BEST eye care ~ these are the best doctors in Kansas!!

She made me feel comfortable to take my time when looking at different frames and she helped to tell me not only which ones she liked from the ones I had selected, but why they worked on my face and for my needs as well. The waiting area is very nice, even though I rarely spend more than a few minutes waiting, it is very pleasant. I look forward to my annual eye appointment every year because I feel like they help me (checking the prescription on my old glasses to see if they still work for me, for example) and hear me out and I leave seeing better with a fun new pair of glasses. I was a patient for over 12 years, but I am probably not going to be anymore. Let me disclose somethings that they do NOT disclose until you are already done: 1. If you bring in an outside pair of glasses, because you don't like what they have in stock - they will charge you at least $20 - even if they are filling the script and you are their patient. You brought in a pair of glasses that was not purchased through their store. 2. If you get cataract surgery, and you later need a pair of readers, they sold my father an (81 year old man) readers that cost over $700 which could have been purchased OTC for less than $50. 3. Also, if you wear contacts - they will charge you $85 - not covered by most insurance. Doesn't matter that your prescription hasn't changed, they just want the additional $85 - as "there are materials involved," so I was told. I don't recall anything different from any other eye exam. It ended with, "we have to renew your prescription." So there it is - $85 to renew prescriptions.
