I haven't been to a PCP/GP in years, due to cancer and other medical ailments; as a result, it's been more than 3 years since seeing my Primary Care Physician. After 3 years apparently you're discarded and considered a new patient, and every PCP office I called within the Lees Summit and surrounding areas either aren't accepting new patients or they're not scheduling new patient appointments for a minimum of 5-8 months, leaving me without help after severely injuring my back, I was in so much pain, and I needed immediate care, so I made a same day appointment (on a Sunday) at NextCare Urgent Care is Lees Summit (off of McBaine Drive), and they exceeded my expectations in every way. First, you can make an appointment online, and they honor those appointments (no matter how many walk-ins are there before you.) In addition I have received exceptional care. I've been twice in the last 2 weeks, and have had to call in multiple times. They are always quick to respond and incredibly helpful. From the front desk (who is also the R.T./x-ray tech), to the nurse who was so kind, caring and helpful, to the Dr/FNP Thomas Sims, I have received excellent care. I cannot say enough great things about them. If you need immediate care (that doesn't require going to the ER) I encourage you to make an appointment with NextCare Urgent Care in Lee's Summit. Spoke with the front desk of the adjacent, unaffiliated business next door. Learned that they are frequently late. Got there with my dad. The place was gorgeous and clean. Front desk was great! Dad Couldn't pee, and appeared to have gotten Bells Palsey or had a stroke. We had went to emergency 1st and after 4 1/2 hr wait, left and went here. had a 10 min. wait. The doctor gave him a blood test, urine test and prescribed an antibiotic and sent us back to emergency room with a recommendation for immediate care. She was amazing and genuinely cared. Another 2 hr wait at hospital and was seen and admitted. Was there for 3 weeks. Now is finally scheduled for surgery. read more

Brought husband in with an injured finger on a Friday night. Check-in process was easy (scan and fill out paperwork on your phone) and all staff were friendly and efficient. We saw Linda on the front desk, Irene took vitals, and Thomas was the provider. X-Rays and treatment were $135 after insurance (beginning of the year, so deductible not met yet). Came in to get an X-ray of my foot (feared I had dislocated a toe weeks prior but the swelling was still pretty bad ) Get X-rays, NP comes in and tells me my toe is "shattered" and would require surgery and a rod put in. gave me a safety shoe but didn't even bother taping the toes because "it's already been two weeks" Gives me X-ray disc and a referral for surgeon , So I found my own orthopedic center instead of his referred one, I went to the top rated specialist in my area (thanks company insurance). Only to be told yeah my toe is broken in few spots but that they would NEVER operate on a small toe like that, and NEVER put in a rod. She laughed at the NP and made me feel a ton better, She buddy taped my toes, said healing is going really well and to come back for another X-ray in three weeks. I was very happy to be able to get someone to look at my ear that had been "full" and clogged for over 2 weeks. Unfortunately the neither the prescription from the first visit nor the second the following week solved the issue and my insurance still will not acknowledge that I paid there even though I have receipts from both visits. I have been back to double check payments. They once again gave me paid receipts but insurance still not responding. Ear still bad. read more

When I arrived, the front desk attendant stated that they were overrun with walk-ins and could not accommodate me, even though there were only 2 people waiting in the lobby. A couple of days ago (Dec 29) I came here for a sudden and abnormal high blood pressure (no prior history). After waiting for 2 & 1/2 hours I was finally checked by a back staff lady who confirmed the numbers my monitor at home was reading. I was then taken to a room to wait for a passionate doctor (or maybe not) to see me in hopes that they can provide some relief. A lady (Summer M. according to the feedback card I was given earlier by the first nurse) walked into the room and as she stood by the door she quickly said "So you have high BP what can I do for you?". I was really shocked as I was not expecting that from a professional person. She insisted that there was absolutely nothing that she could or would do and offered little explanation why urgent care is not equipped to treat cases like mine. It was evident from the very brief conversation we had that the lady is a little insensitive and not too keen to help me or to take some time to educate me on anything related to my case (again I have never been diagnosed previously with high blood pressure). While we're having our brief conversation (a few minutes at best) she never fully entered the room and was standing by the door the whole time (maybe in a hurry to see the last 2 people and finish up the night). As I was leaving she said to me "you need to be seen by your Dr. and not by us and that's why we were taught not to treat these cases so when you die in three days your wife does not come after us". She was rude, not very careful with her choice of words, and not tactful. I was completely disappointed that I had to spend all that time waiting around only to be sent home without any treatment and on top of that as I was leaving she kept repeating "plz take care of yourself" but in my mind I was thinking "is she being sarcastic, isn't that why I'm here at an urgent care facility in the first place?". I remember her arguing with me more than helping me, for example when I told her I blame the system for not training the front staff to turn me away right from the beginning once I declared on the sign in form that the reason for my visit is for experiencing high BP she quickly responded that the front staff do not know that and they only make $12 hour and when I said it does not matter what they make she quickly interrupted me and said "yes, it does". That person was not friendly or very helpful and she should be avoided if possible because she seemed to have an attitude. read more

First thing in the morning I scheduled an appointment for 12:20 pm so I could go in over my lunch break. Filled out everything online so all I had to do was check in when I arrived. I got there 10 minutes early and waited over 2 hours. I finally gave up and left because I had already missed one work meeting and couldn't miss another. For a medical visit I fully expect there to be some delay, but a 2 hour wait with an appointment is unacceptable. I would not recommend this place unless you have a day to kill. They'll have you make a reservation just to not honor it. They'll take the walk-in patients before taking you , someone who's reserved. She didn't even have a fever. Shes having extremely low hypothermic temperatures. Tylenol and Motrin would do more harm than help. These people act like they care and just don't at all. So greedy. I needed a quick check of my cold. The weekend hours make it convenient and it's close to my house. Everyone was very friendly and there wasn't a line. Honestly, if I hadn't already maxed out my deductibles for the year, I probably would have skipped going this time (approx $100 fee normally). But, they are set up more like an ER than a regular doctor's office. I would be more tempted to go if I had something more serious but not life threatening. Not a huge deal, but surprising and disappointing. Their admission form wanted my email address but also said that including it meant I accepted their "email privacy statement" terms. Yet, nobody there could even find any such "email privacy statement"--not that most people would ever read them, it is legally indefensible to force acceptance of terms that can't be reviewed. read more

Absolutely unprofessional. Websites states walk -in's-available. Denied care at 3:25. I was polite but receptionist said 'we don't care'. ' We get yelled at a lot and that's about it'. The nurse and the Nurse Practitioner were great. However, I was feeling really poorly and was told that medication would be called in to my pharmacy. When I was able to get to the pharmacy they told me that nothing had been sent to them for me. I didn't feel like going out to the pharmacy but needed the medication. I was very frustrating to get to the pharmacy only to find out that The Urgency Room staff had not called, or sent the RX to my pharmacy. Of course the pharmacy was very busy so it was another day until I could get my medicine. I felt this was a very bad mistake on the part of the Urgency Room. I guess it was just an oversight but when you don't feel well in the first place it's hard to swallow. read more

I would give it a zero if I could. I went to the location on Stadium first. They turned me away, even though there was an hour left until they closed. At the Nifong location, they wanted me to leave for an hour and come back to get tested for COVID. I said, I'll wait here! I live 45 min away! Almost 2 hours later the nurse called me back. I was not examined at all, other than BP and temp. The nurse didn't change her gloves, wash her hands, or clean any equipment before or afterwards. This was supposed to be a rapid test, so I'm not sure why she shoved the Q-tip into my brain!!! And without warning!!! Worst bedside manner ever! Once they found out I was negative, they sent me on my way. I'm pretty sure I have a bad sinus infection, but who cares, right. It's not COVID. Don't come here. read more

If all Urgent Cares were like this one, I would make sure I got sick more often. Who wants to go to an Urgent Care, especially a new one? After an earache I had wouldn't go away, I went here on a random Saturday afternoon because it was the only one in town I had seen on a constant basis - right off of the 470 near the Strother Road exit. I wasn't expecting much - just hoped to get in and out in a decent amount of time with an answer to my ailment. As soon as I walked in I knew this place was unlike any other urgent care office I had ever seen. The interior is LIKE A SPA -- really -- tranquil fountains, a full coffee bar on the house, and lots of comfy seating. The staff were SUPER friendly and facilitating, especially in explaining the medicine vending machine that sparked my curiosity. Really - you can get your doctors visit AND your Rx AND your spa fix all in one spot! The examination rooms were just as nice as the lobby, and the doctor who saw me was very patient and pleasant. I was in and out in less than 45-minutes. I am pretty sure it is the cleanest facility I have ever seen - AND they have X-Ray machines, lab, and offer vaccinations, so it's kind of like a one-stop shop! They are also opening a family practice in January, which is perfect because I have been avoiding having to find a doctors office but now will make my appointment joyfully! The staff was very friendly but it was impossible to reach someone over the phone to get my test results. They didn't call when they said they would after rapid test. What was the point of a rapid test if they do not call within an hour. It has almost been 24 hours and I still have no results. read more

We have been waiting 9 days for a test result for our severely asthmatic 9 year old. We were told the results would be 3 to 7 days. When it didn't come back in 7 days they said it would be 4 to 8 days. When it didn't come back in 8 they said it will be 10 to 12 days. Why not just tell the truth from the start so I could have made an informed decision about her care instead of waiting so long for results. This is ridiculous. And they are not honest about wait times and result times. read more

My wife got sick on a weekend and there is no urgent care near where we live. So we googled and got this place. It was very clean. Receptionist was sympathetic to our needs. The doctor was kind and listened to us. He didn't rush us out and answered all our questions. They offered free coffee but would have been nice to have some cold water. read more

Very poor experience. Young inept physicians who are loathe to address any illness with prescription antibiotics. Wait time was ridiculous and when I got to the back I understood why. The tech checking me in called me the wrong name and became easily flustered. I'd strongly advise you find any other facility or even consult your neighborhood natural healing expert (there's always one), witch Dr. Or just take an Advil and deal with it unless it gets worse. read more

If you are going their at the order of your company because of a work injury then you should run. These corrupt people are bought and paid for. Went in after a fall at work where an NP told me to ice it and take ibuprofen, no scans or tests ordered. 4 days later and in unbearable pain I went to the emergency room where they did a CT scan and it showed I had a compression fracture in my L5, a bulging disc, and a case of spinal stenosis. They refused to change my work restrictions and none of them even are qualified to look at my CT scan. Crooked crooked crooked. Nobody thinks it is real until it happens to them. I hope none of you ever have to see. Yhese.people are qualified to give injections and put bandaids on you. Good luck with anything else. read more

I have only used this location once, but that being said I will come back anytime I am feeling under the weather. I came down with a cold/bronchitis bout a few days ago and finally decided to get seen yesterday. I got online verified they were accepting retired military and then I went on their webiste to utilize the "Clockwise" option. I sent in my message and was sent a text within 20 minutes telling me my appointment was in a half hour. I checked in and sat down for a few minutes and then was seen by triage person, and then the doctor. They listened to my complaint and history of it being as the seasons change. They prescribed what a normally get besides an additional steroid shot to get the cure moving faster. All of this was done in under an hour. Have to say that is the epitome of PROFESSIONALISM. That may not be the case for everyone, but for me it sure was a GREAT EXPERIENCE!!!!! I want to start by saying they are very good about caring for their patients. One thing that needs improvement is their form of communication. Not only are hold times a bit long, but there is an inconsistency with who you talk to. You will be answered by a customer service rep who will then transfer you to a location of your choice. I received a call from them asking for me to call them back. Once I did, I spoke to one of these reps who then tried to connect me to the Lee's Summit location. The rep was with a patient so she left a note on my file to call me. I still don't know if I'll get a call back. But I don't want to wait for another 20 minutes on the phone to speak to someone. Communication definitely needs improvement. read more
