My sister needed a motorized scooter or wheelchair to get around because of her oxygen issues from lung cancer. We turned to Caremax, and from day one "Lisa" guided us through the whole process including all the red tape that comes with Medicare. Medicare has very strict requirements: physical evaluations, doctors' reports, copies of forms, and sometimes even re-doing paperwork for the smallest details. One form had to be re-done because the doctor listed her medical group name (how they bill patients) instead of her own name. These kind of delays were frustrating, but were entirely due to Medicare's rules, not Caremax. Lisa actually warned us from the start that Medicare is very particular and that patience would be necessary. She was right. But through it all, she stayed on top of everything and made sure we understood every step. When my sister's motorized wheelchair was finally delivered, Terry and Lee were wonderful! Terry had come out earlier to take measurements, and was so easy to talk to. Both Terry and Lee made the delivery day easy, and even fun! They showed all the features and explained how everything worked, definitely put a bow on the whole experience working with Caremax. Before closing this review, I have to say that I've read some reviews criticizing Caremax for delays. In our experience, that's unfair. The service itself was excellent. Lisa did everything she could to help us. The waiting and setbacks were simply a part of Medicare's process. When you're dealing with health and quality of life, every day admittedly feels longer, but I can honestly say Caremax as a whole, Lisa, Terry and Lee were wonderful to work with. Caremax works really quick with DMEs as long as you have all proper documents needed. Lisa is Amazing, she walk you through, documents and Even stepped up contacting Doctors office to expedite DME. When I followed up she said that DME is set for delivery (wow!.) I appreciate Lisa for helping me with the process and cutting off extra work load for me as a CM. Because you can not give a ZERO. DO NOT USE THEM , IF YOU ARE NEEDING ANYTHING GREATER THAN A WALKER. BECAUSE THEY WILL TELL YOU AFTER THEY STRING YOU AROUND FOR MONTHS THAT THEY CAN NOT PROVIDE THE EQUIPMENT! The General Manager could not EXPLAIN why they could not provide my wife with the equipment needed. We have been waiting for Three Months. He could not explain why his staff could not call Me/My Wife the client and discuss other options. My Bride/Wife as been held prisoner in the GORDON LANE FULLERTON CA Nursing home because of this COMPANY and their lack of service. Ext #29 the persons name is never the same. Customer Service The staff does not follow up on paperwork. They wait until you call them, frustrated and MAD, to then say they will call and follow up on the matter but, will not tell the client what if anything is being done about the issue. So you call a week later and they say, oops, i will check up on this. With not return call or follow up. I HAD TO GET DOCTORS REPORTS AND HAND THEM TO THE PERSON AT #29 , BECAUSE SHE COULD NOT SEEM TO CALL THE DOCTORS OFFICE AND GET THEM EMAILED TO HER. I HAD TO GO TO THE OFFICE ON 6 DIFFERENT TIMES AND TALK WITH HER, WHY, BECAUSE SHE DOES NOT ANSWER HER PHONE YOU ALWAYS GET VOICEMAIL. If you leave a message, she just deletes them and then said she never got your call, even though you play the recording of the call you made on her voice mail back to her in the office to her face. The General Manager is not addressing any of these issues that I did this or that his staff is bias against large people, WHITES, anything that is not CHINESE! read more

My experience at Caremax (Buena Park) was excellent. It was a very efficient, professional and smooth operation. I only waited for about 24 hours for the walker to be ready. Both people I dealt with were very accommodating. The employee that finalized my walker transaction walked me out to the car and assisted me in placing it in the car. I have been using Caremax since 2009, and have had a pleasant experience with the pharmacy staff up until these last 2 weeks. This is particularly concerning the medical equipment department. I have been in need of a new walker for the past month. Got the prescription for it, faxed it, and have been waiting ever since. There is only Mia (I think that's how it's spelled) who handles those requests, and I can barely understand her, and she definitely doesn't understand me half the time, so I have to repeat myself. I called once a week to find out what was going on, and each time I was told that someone would call me back. After 3 times of hearing that nonsense, I finally let out my frustration with the girl on the phone, and FINALLY Mia calls back saying they are waiting on the Dr. I call my Dr who says they haven't received anything! I call back again today, only to be greeted with a rude ass receptionist or whatever her job title is. Every time you ask her something she just says ok. I was like, "okay you have the right fax number, or are you just telling me ok??" Like what the fuc? She didn't even want to check which Dr. I was talking about or verify that it was the correct fax number. Come to find out they have a different Dr. they've been sending faxes to. They didn't read the number on the prescription?!?! Ugh, now it's like starting all over again!! The rest of the pharmacy and billing dept. would get 4 stars in my book, but the medical equipment department is a nightmare if you have medicare, with the rudest biatch assistant ever. This place is great/awesome, I accompany my mom to Caremax last Thursday 06/02/2016. My mom got walker from this place before, now we are in need of wound supplies, I would like to give 5 star to Nora, my mom needs tegaderm film dressing and we wanted to have that supplies ASAP but they don't have on stock she recommend us another brand which they have on stock that day.. My mom tried it and she likes it than tegaderm. She's being helpful and informative. and my mom ask some other product she gave samples for my mom to try. My mom needed a narrower (transport) wheelchair to fit through the doors in her home. Her Dr. perscribed her one and it was delivered in December 2020. Here we are 3 months later and I get a call from Patrick from Caremax telling me that Medicare is not going to cover the wheelchair because you're only allowed a new wheelchair every 5 years. She received a wheelchair with the large wheels within the last 5 years. We didn't know there was this "5 year window" and they are entirely different types/for different purposes wheelchairs. You'd think that Caremax would have checked the coverage/eligibility before filling the perscription from the Dr. Her supplemental insureance is no good either as they do whatever Medicare does. Now we need to pay $180 or they will come and get the wheelchair! read more

DO NOT use this company. My family has done business with Caremax for years. No more-I have no trust in their capabilities. In the past 18 months I have noticed previously helpful and knowledgable staff (Nora) now being rude and not wanting anything to do with us. I actually caught this person talking about me after a conversation when she didn't disconnect properly. Further, they have taken to charging for calls on defective equipment that they provided-this did not used to happen. Beyond that, their repair technicians and delivery personnel now work after 1pm which is problematic for the demographic they serve. Morning repairs and deliveries are imperative. They would not change my parent's bed out until 4pm and had to disrupt his routine instead of coming in the morning when my parent was in the wheelchair. Today 5/19) I am still waiting for a return call from 5/17 with Lee to repair equipment. When a patient's mattress is not inflating correctly it is an urgent situation. I have also noted on Medicare.gov they are creating bogus charges against my parent's account. Equipment that wasn't ordered or delivered us being billed-pure fraud. Last, but not least, Claudia in customer service should familiarize herself with the medical equipment. I was quoted a price of $100 for a low air loss mattress. After questioning her multiple times and having her temper and rudeness elevate, she finally corrected herself and said the price was $1500. Duh! Stay away-cannot stress this enough! You can find more capable and knowledgable medical supply companies around rather than having to deal with these dim lights. read more

I had a great experience buying a walker and commode for my old man from here. The facility is well kept, and the selection of items is chipote-cray. Super helpful staff and they even have this gnarly old school wooden wheelchair with a high back on the showroom floor that I got my eye on. I'm a healthy, mobile 30 year old but that friggin wheelchair is calling my name. I'm dolphinately coming back here for my dad's CPAP. read more

I had terrible customer service with this company!!! I was suppose to get a phone call to make sure I was home for delivery for my rollaide. Never got the call and when I got home, a 40 lb box was thrown on my porch, blocking half of my stairs and doorway! I called to complain about this and also that this item needed to be assembled. Someone came out the next day, and this man started yelling at me - for not opening up the box myself, and that it was so easy to put together, he could not believe that I could not do this myself! ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME? THIS IS YOUR JOB JERK!! 3x he yelled at me to tell me how easy this was to put together. I finally showed him my 2 canes that I was standing on and said, do I look like I can put this together, I don't even have the strength to move the box! And to add insult to injury, he refused to take away the 4 ft box that this came in. He said he did not have room, (in his large white delivery van) really? Then it was up to me to get rid of this box on my own. As soon as this guy left, I got on the phone and blasted the customer service person for this company! How they could hire such inconsiderate workers with no manners or sympathy and being beyond rude just floored me! read more
