As most of you know my parents are retired and are in the process of placing their house on the market so they can move south to Tennessee. Things need to be done in order for the house to be placed in its best condition to ensure my parents get the best bang for their buck when it comes to the property. For the most part they have done things on their own, painting rooms, replacing floors, etc. However, given my father's age he reached out for help to deal with the siding of the roof and soffit's. This is where it gets ugly. My parents hired Top Notch Contracting to come take care of this job. Dad had some appointments out of town, so the work was left for them to handle with nobody on site. Today these guys showed up (unannounced) didn't check in with my parents to say they were on site and just started to unload their equipment. My dad went out to discuss the issues he had with the various mistakes that this "contractor" has performed. Upon the discussion Sean was IMMEDIATELY dismissive. He told my father that the work was sound, made excuses for the mess that was left behind, and tried to brush aside the various damages that had occurred from the job. When my parents attempted to bring the issues, they had with the work to Sean's attention he responded with "It doesn't matter what I did you would've bitched about it anyway". At this point I advised my father to just leave the conversation and send this "Contractor" on his way. At that point the employee Sean told me to shut up and "not talk to his boss". I informed him that he was on my parent's property and I was allowed to speak candidly. This person then stepped onto the road and said "I'm not on the property anymore come say that to my face!" Never, in my life, have I been treated so aggressively and disrespectfully by a business. I expect that kind of behavior from the teenagers at the Ice Arena but I was taken aback to have that happen in my parents front lawn from a contractor. At the end of the day I am writing this to warn everyone that: A. This company will not stand by their work and will be combative if you confront them about your dissatisfaction. B. The owner of the company allows his employees to belittle and verbally assault his customers without consequence.

They won't answer when we call, they won't call us back. I then called from another location they answered! All promises and 'we'll call you back!" Then they don't. I told them we have children and pets! I'm sure this is a health code violation. Then they had the nerve to mail us an invoice! I would recommend NOT using this company at all. They don't stand behind their work and treat their customers horribly.

Yes - the lid had broken, but as they are cast concrete and do deteriorate with age this does occasionally happen. He showed me where the corner of one of your lids was chipped and might need replacing in the future. Next time I need the tanks drained I will call this company.

This review is different, it is written three days after H&W finished two weeks of work at our house after thought and reflection. In August the basement of our bungalow was filled with 4 feet of sewage, we lost 70% of our possessions. We threw all of our memories into a dumpster in our driveway and was informed that our house had asbestos forcing us to move out of it with three children in tow. We did not expect encouragement in these tough times to come in the form of a husband and wife abatement team but that is what happened. Chris and Sylvie came to our house and demonstrated professional excellence in every possible way. They explained the scope of the work and what they were doing at every step. They were fastidious about cleanliness and meticulous in their methods to ensure that our house would be fully abated without incidental asbestos contamination, working 13 days straight through a long weekend to get us back in our home as quickly as possible. They were considerate of our salvageable belongings, moving items with care and when we did move back home they timed the remainder of their operations in consideration of our family's schedule. Their abatement efforts uncovered underlying mold issues which they took the initiative to remediate in consultation with our insurance company. They cleaned every surface by hand when they were done. Chris told me early on we could eat off the floor when they were done, I think he was right. You might think every abatement company operates like this but after talking to multiple neighbours also undergoing abatement operations from the same flood I've come to realize how deeply fortunate we were to have H&W. Friends up the road suffered fractured plumbing or panes of glass from careless abatement, one couple had the abatement go so poorly their entire house was contaminated with asbestos dust (incidentally H&W got called in to fix that mess). Chris and Sylvie are H&W, they put their hearts into every job because it's their company, their reputation, and their passion to do restore worksites to a high standard of cleanliness while adhering to the highest of safety standards. I don't offer a 5-star rating here on a whim, H&W deserve all five.
