1 Star Review - Care Free Pools: Sloppy, Disorganized, and Disrespectful of Your Time…read more If I could give zero stars, I would. Care Free may be able to install a decent pool, but their service after that point is an absolute disaster. From communication breakdowns to delays, unfulfilled promises, and careless work, every step has been a frustrating ordeal. Our fence -- which they installed -- is still being held together with bright red tape. The gate latch failed almost immediately. We had a ladder ready to go, but they couldn't be bothered to install it until the very end of the season. Too busy to complete what we had already paid for. We discussed installing the pool cover repeatedly, only to have it done after all the leaves had fallen -- making the entire effort pointless. They even left floaties underneath the cover. Then this spring, after a personal visit to their shop to raise concerns about the condition of the pool, their crew came out and poured chemicals directly into a pool full of debris. Useless and infuriating. Care Free seems focused on chasing new business while neglecting the very customers who trusted and paid them. They are disorganized, indifferent, and consistently unresponsive unless backed into a corner. We will never use Care Free again. None of our businesses or affiliated partners will either. They've been removed from our recommendation list permanently and are now referenced internally as a case study in poor service delivery.

York (who is the manager and is excellent btw) recommended an electrician they work closely with, Frank Chabot and this guy was aces. No fuss, just fast and professional work at a reasonable price. When we started up the hot tub last night, there was a slight hum coming from one of the pumps. I sent an email to York this morning, and got a call back within minutes. The pump will be replaced same day! Truly, they have exceeded our expectations. Their "say to do" ratio is 100%. I highly recommend them!

Everyone was very patient with the many (MANY!) questions that we had throughout the process. The installation crew was efficient and professional. Fred, Jérémie and co. always respected any appointments they set and the installation went according to the established timeline. We LOVED that they made themselves available for communication: they were always a phone call away with the answer when we had a question or a concern. We have recommended Campbell Pools to many friends. We received top-notch service from everyone involved in the process. Dealing with the staff at the Cornwall store is always a pleasure. They are so patient and professional when you come in with your "i-am-still-new-at-this" questions. Everyone has been -- and IS -- a pleasure to deal with. We also had our stamped concrete done by Victor Cabido. There were some issues that were unresolved. Victor was supposed to return for touchups in the summer of 2012. He never did. We called several times and sent emails. He is not good at getting back in touch when you call, and his appointment times are "fluid" (ie not always respected). He does beautiful work, but we found the lack of follow-up on his part to be disappointing. We will be looking into doing the touchups ourselves, assuming that we can get our hands on the necessary products.

Since its a new business I paid the going rate, but the rates are very good. Better than renting an apartment for a few months just for my stuff when I'm out of town. I can leave everything and know it will be safe and secure in one of the small units. The reservation and set up is easy since I did it all through the website. I have my own key so I can go back and check on or get my stuff anytime, very convenient. I could see how students at the local SUNY schools, Clarkson or St. Lawrence would want to store their stuff here when they are out of town. Saves from having to rent an apartment.
