I used to have a high degree of myopia, -7.5D on both eyes. I'm originally from Ukraine and I don't trust to our local eye clinics. I always dreamed of doing the laser eye surgery in a German clinic and then finally opted for EuroEyes clinic at the end of 2014. I'm very pleased that the clinic personnel speak very good English. I had a choice between Femto-Lasik and the new ReLEx smile. I was explained in all details about these two procedures and I made a choice for ReLEx smile. I knew that I had to pay more for this procedure, however it worth this kind of money. I was lucky that my surgeon was Dr. Jorgensen - he made everything perfectly and painlessly. I was not worried during the procedure and I fully trusted him. I was very surprised that the operation went so fast, only about 10 minutes. When I left the operating room I opened my eyes and could see everything very clear! I didn't feel any pain after the surgery at all. However I had to wear sunglasses because of the high sensitivity to light on the surgery day and the next day. When I came to the clinic the next day to check my eyesight, it turned out that I see almost 100%! It was difficult to describe my emotions at this moment. Two days after the operation, I had my flight back to Kiev, during which I did not experience the usual feeling of dry eyes when wearing lenses. A few days later I was able to put on my favourite sneakers for training, and a week later I ran a personal best at half marathon! Today it's been 3 years since my eye surgery and I still can see 100%. I highly recommend you EuroEyes clinic.

Cheap? No. But eye surgery is not the place to save money…read more My corneas being too thin to attempt laser surgery with how poor my eyesight (-6.5 with astigmatism and nearly -7 in the other eye) was, the only real option was ICL (implantable contact lenses), which is far more pricey. I did my research, found their prices comparable with other places, and made the appointment. The team was cheerful, professional, and went out of their way to put me at my ease. They even managed to work around a rather embarrassing payment slip-up: though they ask for payment (or proof of financing) on the day of the surgery, my credit card didn't go through - and they did the first surgery (one eye was due to be operated on on Thursday, one on Friday) anyway. It was a simple matter of a phone call to my American bank to fix the issue with my card, but the fact that they trusted me and didn't embarrass me at all made a positive impression. The facilities are clean, bright, and modern; the surgery itself went exactly as advertised, with no pain, complications, or side effects. I had the surgery two weeks ago and, aside from the odd halo around bright lights in darkness (a possibility they warned me about, and which is likely to decrease over time), I now have 20/20 vision in both eyes for the first time in my life. The bonus: they accommodated my very poor German, finding me English-speaking nurses and assistants - and the surgeons themselves spoke excellent English. Again, it certainly isn't cheap - but it's good. EDIT, June 2014: It's been six months - I'm about due for my final check-up - and the bright-light halos have been gone for ages. My vision remains 100%. I have no complaints; money well spent. FINAL EDIT, May 2015: Just a confirmation; it's been a year and a half and my vision is still perfect, with no complications, irritations, halos, etc. I am very glad I had this surgery; it's made a HUGE improvement to my daily quality of life.

EDIT BELOW: I am still on the fence for this review so I may…read morereturn to edit. As with most Dr. offices in Germany even if you have an appointment at a certain time it does not mean you will be seen at that time. I waited a good 30-45 minutes after my scheduled time in order to be seen. The day i was there it was quite busy and the waiting room had only a few seats so people were standing or sitting in the hall ways. Not sure if that is the norm or not. I would think a solution to the overcrowding and having the patient wait so long would be on the scheduling side. Don't schedule so many people when you know they will not be able to be seen at that time. The Dr. I saw was very friendly however she did not give her name so I do not even know who she is. They also want me to do all these test which of course are not covered by insurance so I am questioning if it really is something I need or they are just trying to take me for a ride so to speak. I have another appointment and I hope by that time I will know how I really feel about this place. EDIT*****So I had my follow up visit the next week and was really hopping that it would be better then the first. It was not. The wait was long again and people who came in after me were being seen before me. Maybe because I looked like a student and they looked like they came from money. When I finally saw the Dr. he was really quick, he told me that I had a chronic condition where eventually I would need to have an operation. He gave me a prescription for new glasses and I spoke to another lady who was actually really nice, who introduced me to an alternative to glasses. I left the dr. office somewhat pleased. However when i went to the Optiker to get my new glasses I was in for a surprise. My lenses alone would be over 350€ and my insurance would not pay for them. I asked why and they said the Dr. did not put on the prescription that it was a chronic condition. My friend called the Dr for me to ask for a new prescription. The Dr. now said that it was not chronic and he would not write a new prescription. I will never return to this place nor would I recommend it to anyone! I recently went to another Dr. who diagnosed me with the same condition but DID tell the insurance it was chronic and now everything is fine! DO NOT GO TO THIS DR!!
