They claim to have military discounts on their voice message but when we asked they said they don't offer that type of discount. I appreciated their attention to time and wanting to move quickly but they damaged my master bed (broken legs and scratched finish), they scratched a large portion of paint of of a large mirror, and I have numerous broken dishes and glass products(boxes with glass were labelled and said FRAGILE but I had to tell them to stop throwing the boxes down). In addition to the moving issues, they double charge me for the move. There are two seperate charges on my account and it has been 4 weeks and it still hasn't been credited to my account. They do not return phone calls quickly and they don't keep complete records, I have to continuously give them my phone number because they don't seem to keep their invoices. I feel bad because the folks actually doing the manual labor were very nice gentleman, but the entire process of working with these movers has been a pain. I would select another moving service if you have the option.

Avis employ I spoke to Freddy 47095…read more Avis Lied, Took My Money, and Made Me Miss My Best Friend's Funeral -- Disabled Veteran Treated Disgracefully If I could give zero stars, I would. What Avis did to me over the past two days wasn't just bad service -- it was dishonest, careless, and emotionally devastating. I am a disabled veteran, and because of their incompetence, lies, and refusal to do the right thing, I missed the funeral of one of my closest friends. Here's exactly what happened: I made a reservation for October 1st at 2:00 PM at the airport location. Before I even arrived, Avis had already charged my card for the full amount of the reservation . So when I got there, I was completely blindsided when they suddenly told me I needed to present a credit card to get the car. The only reason I was blindsided is because they had already taken my money -- they were happy to charge me first, but had no problem giving me it back especially after the full amount was already charged and enough on the card for a deposit. Then, the staff told me they can't help and to call the reservation line where they told me another location had another car waiting for me and that they would change my reservation for me . I did not cancel anything -- they changed it themselves and promised I'd be taken care of. Trusting them, I spent money on Uber rides to get to the second location. When I arrived, I found out it was a blatant lie -- there was no car waiting for me, they were actually completely out of cars and this is not even 20 min after getting off the phone with the reservation line. And no one cared. Instead of helping or taking responsibility, they shrugged it off and told me to come back the next morning with my debit card with 300 dollars deposit , assuring me that if I showed up at 8:00 AM, when the store is supposed to open, my car would be ready and waiting. So, I did exactly what they told me. I showed up at 8:00 AM sharp the next morning, expecting my confirmed reservation to finally be honored. But when I got there, the location wasn't even open yet. I had to stand outside and wait for someone to finally show up. When they did, I was told -- yet again -- that there were no cars available, the only option they gave me was wait until someone drops off a car. I waited, still holding onto hope that someone would make this right. After all that waiting and a vehicle finally showed, during check out and running my card AGAIN for a reservation they finally told me I couldn't rent a car at all because I didn't pass a credit check -- a credit check that was never mentioned to me at any point during this entire ordeal. I brought everything that I was told required. By that point, Avis was holding hundreds of dollars of my money, and when I asked for my funds back so I could try to book a last-minute flight or another rental elsewhere, they flat-out refused. I was told I'd have to wait 5-7 business days to get MY OWN MONEY back. I didn't have enough left in my account to make a third reservation or buy a plane ticket. I was stranded. Because of their lies, lack of communication, refusal to return my money, and total mismanagement, I missed my best friend's funeral. That is something I will never get back. Two full days wasted. Hundreds of dollars tied up. Multiple Uber trips paid out of pocket. Hours spent waiting, being misled, and emotionally crushed. Avis didn't just inconvenience me -- they caused real harm at one of the most difficult times of my life. This company is an absolute disgrace. Their management is incompetent, their communication is nonexistent, and their customer service is cold and indifferent. If you're reading this, do not trust Avis with anything important. They'll happily take your money in seconds, lie to your face, and then leave you stranded while they hold onto your funds for a week. Avis didn't just ruin a trip -- they robbed me of the chance to say goodbye to my friend. I will never forget this.

My wife and I rented the smallest storage unit they had on the 3rd level with only two incidents…read more The first is getting locked in building Not knowing how to get out, I nearly had to break out of this accident waiting to happen. In a matter of a few months the second incident we are accused of bringing in food without evidence. It looked like we did. What we did was wife put food in our vehicle and we then went to unit. We were inocent as charged and it worked out this time but people have been maimed or killed for less.

Staff is friendly and helpful enough and they have everything you would expect at any U-Haul…read morelocation. Hours are generous and they were even open on July 4th when I was helping my buddy pick up an auto transport trailer to tow with the truck he had rented a couple days prior. The big knock on this U-Haul store is the downtown location. The lot is surrounded by city streets on all four sides so at busy times of the day getting in and out can be tricky especially if you're driving a big truck and pulling a trailer. The lot is just way too crowded with trailers and vehicles which can make navigating the lot a little tricky. There are a few designated customer parking spaces but but they can be difficult to get in and out of depending on all the other stuff parked around them. The first time I was there it wasn't an issue but on my second visit I had a tough time backing my car out of the parking spot. Overall the facility is okay and you can accomplish your tasks in a reasonable time and fashion, just be prepared to work at a little more than is necessary at most other locations.

I got turned away when attempting to get propane at the location on military highway in Norfolk VA…read more There was two employees in the store doing absolutely nothing when I arrived at 6:30 pm on Saturday February  7th. I literally come to this location to fill my tanks multiple times every month and has never been told that you guys don't do propane after 6:30, especially since I know for a fact I've come and gotten my tanks filled right before closing on several occasions. I personally would never deny someone this service with the record low temperatures we have been experiencing lately. There was no compassion and frankly the customer service here is always lacking. The employees come off as lazy and rude, every time I come to get my tanks refilled I have to go inside and get them despite the fact that they just sat there and watched me put my tanks on the scale on that massive surveillance monitor! I live in a travel trailer and depend on propane to keep me warm and I just can't believe how I was treated, especially with how much I come here. Nice to know how U-haul treats their loyal customers. Now I know to take my business elsewhere. Shame on you guys!

People beware that if you use someone as a contact if they owe UHALL they hold you accountable for someone else debt. That is not fair and a bad policy. Beware and be careful who you use as a contact. Stay away from the Monticello location because they treat customers like criminals because other customers violated the policy.

Voicemail on Wednesday am, first day immediately after it was booked, told me a car was ready; when I called back and shared I was walking to pickup on a sunny 85 degree August morning, I semi-expected them to say "we'll pick you up." Instead I got "ok" (then he hung up). Greeted by Emily on arrival who handled the rental with speed and efficiency. I appreciated that everything was computerized, including VIN numbers, vehicle inspection reports for previous damages, gas levels, and rental agreement; signed on the electronic dotted line using her tablet, then received an email copy within seconds. I pointed to several spots to note damage where she reassured me they're looking for deep gouges bigger than a golf ball. She gave me her name and instructed me to call with any issues. Total transaction time was ~10 minutes. I gambled by opting out of $13 daily insurance which paid off since the car incurred no damage while in my possession. Grand total to GEICO was $156 for 6 days usage. White 2018 Nissan Maxima, though newer, was thankfully a comparable rental to my vehicle; liked the backup camera and keyless door handle entry/push button start. DID NOT like the odor of cigarette smoke attempted to be masked by cleaner. My older son and I have asthma but we sucked it up (pun intended) and managed ok. Floors, upholstery, cubbies and trunk were free from visible debris. Car drove reliably with a smooth ride. Male employee that finalized the return was transactionally friendly; he livened up when I started talking about NFL football. After he confirmed no damage and full gas tank, he assured me I was good to go, told me a receipt would be emailed, then asked about their customer service, specifically if there was anything they could do better. At the time I had nothing, but did I mention "Neil" called me nearly 24 hours later asking (implying) if I damaged the rear bumper!Preposterous and strange considering my return inspection cleared with no (new) damage. Clearly this happened after I left the lot (or not at all). So yeah, here's some improvement suggestions: 1) extend an offer to pickup/drop-off customers 2) review vehicle features with renters for full size levels and up. I'm tech savvy but my Mom probably wouldn't have figured out the keyless entry perks. 3) my rental came with 2 fobs, but they were fixed together on a steel braided security cord. Useless having 2 if they can't be separated! 4) inquire about damage when a customer is still there; I'll refrain from jumping to scam/overcharge conclusions. Will keep you updated if this escalates further.

They told me over the phone a returning flight would dismiss the security deposit & explained how I could use my debit card if I didn't have a credit card. Either way, they told me one thing on the phone which led me to going to this location on Monticello. I get there and now I can't use a debit card and now they don't allow flights to cover deposits so now I really just wasted my time. Granted all of this was explained on the phone prior to a uber being booked! Terrible communication! I will not be coming back.
