Ivan and his team at Quick Move have been my go-to movers since searching for a moving company on Yelp in 2016. This means four big moves so far. A few of these were after relationship breakups, so he literally helped me move forward in life! My most recent move was from Virginia to Texas in October 2022. Ivan and Anthony coordinated my move-out from house to storage, storage unit to moving truck, and then delivery to new home. During this move, Ivan also transported my car on a flatbed trailer attached to the moving truck. Before providing estimates and scheduling moves, he would request to take a look at the old space and all items to be moved. He was also helpful in suggesting which size unit to rent when I had to put all my furniture in storage. Neither elevators, stairs, traffic nor weather would deter Quick Move. Ivan made sure that everything was transported and delivered with care and intact. Ivan not only handled moves, he had a good eye for furniture placement. When my bedroom set would not fit, he knew which pieces would look beautiful in other areas of my apartment. Before moving/delivery day, I always printed a copy of my home floor plans and designed my furniture layout. Ivan also helped my mom move appliances/furniture to and from her clinic. He even picked up a store order for me instead of my paying for shipping/delivery and figuring out how to carry the heavy purchase upstairs. In past moves, he packed my kitchen and living room into boxes, which I appreciated. Ivan is professional, reliable, trustworthy and communicates well. He identifies ways to save money and resources. He ensures that he has enough help, whom have also been reliable. He uses his time efficiently. We hired Ivan and his 2 guys Tony and Tony to help us pack and move. They were amazing! The cost of the move was worth every penny, and their prices were very fair. Ivan quoted us for 2 movers, but I asked for a 3rd and it was the right decision, given that we barely packed anything before they got to our place. Super helpful, on time, very friendly, and they put things exactly where we needed them. No damage to our belongings as they are careful. I was initially so happy with this company, as Ivan was kind, responsive, and prompt. He was hired and paid to load four U-boxes, only ended up needing to load two, said (more than once) he'd refund me for the two boxes he didn't have to load, and then quit answering my texts and one phone call to issue the refund. I'm so disappointed that he didn't end up being who he appeared to be. I've been incredibly patient and kind about the whole thing and kept believing he'd honor his word. I'm now out $451.98 that I really, really need. In addition, the second day Ivan came to work for me, he asked me to cancel my reservation with MovingHelp, the third party who connected me with him, and pay him directly through Venmo. I did that at his request and paid him top dollar. I later hired another team for the second leg of my move who did an incredible job at exactly half the price of Ivan's company. I called several times to make arrangements/ask questions, and Ivan answered immediately every time. Very responsive and very helpful. The two movers were very nice and worked Tetris magic to make sure everything fit into our truck. And although we were the last job of the day (6-9pm!), they worked very hard and very efficiently with positive attitudes the whole way through (despite some of our last minute, shoddy packing!). I was originally going to hire movers through Uhauls moving help tool, but the mixed reviews there scared me off. I'm so glad I spent a little more money to have peace of mind and quality work. I've moved at least 16 times in the past fourteen years, including overseas, local in town moves, state to state moves, and this is the best moved I've ever had. The two men were professional, extremely courteous with all our furniture and boxes, which we really appreciated! I did prebox all my belongings but I would totally trust them to pack our house. We did a townhome to townhome move about 15 min away, had great price and they didn't try to scam time (which I've encountered many times before). They also don't start billing time until the truck and supplies are inspected by the customer. Other places in Va Beach start charging before the truck leaves the company grounds (insane). I used ivan and his team for my move in August. I was moving most of my possessions into a storage unit and thought I knew how I wanted things set up in the unit, the guys definitely knew better! I had more than enough space for my stuff after they rearranged what I had moved myself. I was so stressed the day of the move and they quickly and efficiently moved everything I needed...no playing or waiting around just working right through it. A few items i was very concerned about moving were no problem for them..including an old arcade machine of value to my fiancée. Great moving company in terms of value and efficiency! They showed up on time, and had everything moved within 3 hours, on the dot! The reason I'm giving them 4 stars instead of 5 is because one of the movers failed to wear a face mask during the job. Given the times, it's not just the safest, but also the considerate thing to do. I also noticed after they'd left, that my dresser is chipped on one side--probably as a result of transporting the dresser with the drawers still inside. Since it's cheap IKEA furniture, I'm not super upset but still wanted to mention it. If you're moving a dresser with a lot of clothes, insist that they remove the drawers first! I wish I'd been more persistent. Overall though, they were very friendly guys, and very efficient! Made moving my one bedroom apartment a breeze! read more

Hired him to load a Uhaul truck from storage. They were on time, efficient, took the time to point issues out to me (that were caused by the movers that moved me into storage). I purchased a second hand piano and needed professional movers asap. I was able to get a fair quote from these guys right away and they happened to be available the following day. They did a great job bringing the appropriate equipment and wraps for the piano. They didn't load it into a big tall truck - they had a lower to the ground u-haul trailer the piano fit in perfectly. I'd give this company no stars if it was allowed. I contacted this company a week prior to when I needed items moved - I was personally moving items from another state to Virginia Beach and I just needed help with having the truck unloaded. I scheduled to have the truck unloaded the evening of 05/08/2017 and confirmed with the company on the Friday prior (05/05/2017). 6p rolled around (which was when they were supposed to arrive) and no one showed - gave them until 6:30p before I called and got an automated message saying "the subscriber has traveled outside of the coverage zone". I called multiple times until 7p and received the same message. I was stuck with a 15ft truck that I was unable to unload myself and had to contact another company, who wouldn't be able to be out until the next day. Not only was I completely inconvenienced with having to move unpacking back a day, but I also had to spend another $60 for having kept the moving truck for an additional day past when I was supposed to have returned it due to this company's lack of communication and failure to do as previously agreed upon. I initially went with this company because the reviews were really great. However, if you're going to run a business, you need to make sure you have another means of contacting your customers if something happens - I haven't heard a word from this company since their failure to show when they were supposed to. read more

Ivan and his team moved me into my first apartment in the area years ago and left an amazing impression, but then we were unable to find him again for the multiple moves I've made since. 2 weeks ago, we came home from delivering my son at the hospital and found bed bugs on his bassinet on the middle of the night from our infested apartment complex, necessitating an emergency move while I was recovering from a C section in the middle of the pandemic. My husband and I were quickly out of our depth. Thankfully, I found Ivan again! I saw the great reviews and thought I would give them a try. Ivan was very friendly and accommodating about my time schedule. I booked him and he said his guys would be in around 9 but they showed up 30 minutes later. Not a huge issue, but the fact that they charge hourly but don't use any moving equipment is ridiculous. They hand carried each box and it ended up taking 4 hours to move a 3 bedroom house when they could have done it in half the time if they had used dollies. When the truck arrived in my new city I saw that they hadn't packed it properly and the tv's, the most expensive things, were the last things to be loaded so everything was pushing against them. Unfortunately I wouldn't hire them again or recommend them to anyone. read more
