We didn't look on Yelp before finding a home for my mother-in-law when she could not take care of…read moreherself anymore. There was no listing for Palmera, but hopefully you read this before considering them for your loved one...or mother-in-law... :) First the good: The house is very nice, and located in a very nice neighborhood in Antelope. Unfortunately, that's the end of the "good." I met with Maria, one of the owners at another one of her board and care facilities. My wife was sick and could not meet with her, but gave me the information. Maria showed up 15 minutes late, and proceeded to advise me that my wife was wrong and told her the meeting was at a different time, and at the other location (where we ended up.) Followed her to the other facility (Palmera) and was initially impressed with the house and neighborhood (see above) They were a little outside of our budget, at $2700 per month, but went down to $2200 when I advised them that that was what we could afford. They had spots for 5-6 residents, but only had 2 at the time, so they were flexible. After moving in, my mother-in-law (who can be a little hard to deal with, herself) started making claims that Maria was "nasty" to her and would yell and call her names. There was no interaction or activities with other residents except at meal time, despite what their ad says. She also mentioned that Maria had pushed her. Her doctor advised that we confront Maria, which we did, and she brushed it off as an exaggeration, which we believed at the time. But after sitting down with Maria and her husband, Andre, and seeing how they interacted with my mother-in-law, it was obvious that they had no business running a care facility. My mother-in-law came out of her room to apologize for her behavior, and their reply was, "we accept your apology, but you need to stop acting bad." That is NOT how you diffuse a situation with an 80 year old woman with early onset dementia. Since then, they claimed that she was throwing things, assaulting them, and even bit Maria. How my 80 year old mother-in-law who uses a walker somehow overpowered her was not made clear. We were given a 30 day notice verbally (no written notice of any kind) We found out then that they were at capacity, so my opinion is that they felt they could get a new tenant for a higher price. But I reiterate, that's only my opinion. Since then, we get almost daily calls asking when we are moving her out (only three weeks after our verbal notice) and then she changed her story, claiming that she actually gave 3 days notice instead of 30. When we stopped answering her calls, she stole my mother-in-law's phone to call us from that number. In conclusion...I know it's almost a cliche' on Yelp, but if I could have given them 0 stars, I would. I just hope we can prevent other people from making the same mistake that we did. Finding a home for seniors when the need assistance is a desperate time, and unfortunately, Palmera Home Care is there to prey on them. We are filing a complaint with Social Services as well.

After what my friend went through at his previous assisted living facility, we were understandably anxious. That anxiety disappeared almost immediately once he settled in here. The environment itself is clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully maintained. There's a real sense of community here, not just a facility. My friend is more engaged, more relaxed, and overall much happier than he's been in a long time. That peace of mind is priceless--not just for him, but for those of us who care about him. We feel incredibly relieved and grateful that he found this place. It's everything we had hoped for and more, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for compassionate, high-quality senior living.

I asked her how she liked it, and she graciously shared her experience. She mentioned that her dad has been living there for almost a year, and although she lives out of state, she has been able to receive updates, which puts her mind at ease since their family moved him in. Although my mom was never able to move in (she passed away in the hospital), I knew this would have been the perfect place for her. When Daniel found out about my mom's passing, he sent flowers to my family. He truly cares, and I appreciate how involved his family is. During my tour, I was offered a plate of fresh fruit and encouraged to enjoy tea with the family. It's the little details that matter to me. Thank you, Daniel, for being so kind during a tough time in my life.

The residents there are super nice and we talked to each of them to make sure they enjoyed being there and they definitely did. The place is clean, new and current and the staff is so friendly, professional and responsive. The food is homemade, fresh everyday. This is a family owned well run business and it's apparent that the owner and his family cares for the residents. My Mom already told me multiple times how different family owners spent time with her just talking with her. To me that's above and beyond the call of duty, and she loves it there. They communicate when needed to make sure my Mom is taken care of. I wouldn't hesitate to bring your loved one here.

NOT THE TERRACES OF ROSEVILLE. This location is beautiful, the staff is caring, and I have never heard anything short of loving, caring comments from the team. Don't get me wrong, a couple of staff members are aloof, but most do not have regular contact with those currently housed here. My GG is 102 and has been here for years. I firmly believe that the assistance of the Terraces Team, up to and including their stringent rules on COVID-19 visitations, made this a very safe place for all elderly loved ones. I can only hope that when I am old and gray, I will have a group of people who love their job and the people they work with so much that I am taken care of like this.

They have gone above and beyond for my grandpa since day one, they even sent someone out to West Sacramento to meet with him when he was in the hospital for physical rehab. It was very stressful looking for a new home for him, but we are very happy we chose The Terraces for this new chapter of his life. They encourage him to be independent, but are still right there in case he needs assistance. Couldn't ask for more!

I can't say enough good things about All Seasons. First I will start with Toly the owner . From the time I reached out, he was attentive, communicative and kind. He spent so much time with me, easing my fears and worries that we would find the right place for my dad. He kept me updated all along the way with the waiting process. And he gave me such good advice during the time we were waiting for a spot to open up for my dad. I will never forget the kindness and compassion and dignity he showed our family along the entire process. Second, Lauren, the house manager at the home my dad was in. From day one, she came alongside my dad-really wanting to know him, to understand him, and to help him thrive during his time at All Seasons. Her care and love for dementia patients and their families is second to none. I was constantly amazed at not only her patience and kindness towards my dad (who was very difficult a lot of time) but also to us as his family who were trying to navigate the difficult behaviors and circumstances surrounding his disease. We will forever be indebted with gratitude that my dad had Lauren as his caregiver and advocate for the last part of his life. Also, Hector, Lilly, Melissa and so many more. All the caregiver at All Seasons seemed to be called to care for these special patients. My dad had previously been in a large memory care. For everyone there-it was a job and only that. Not at All Seasons. They hire only those who truly care about patients living with dementia. As a nurse of 28 years, I can whole heartedly recommend All Seasons for your loved one with dementia.
