The pros: There was a special for a brief time for new patients to get X-rays and a consultation for less than $20. I called to make an appointment and was fit into the schedule the same day. The environment is peaceful, clean, well kept and professional. The receptionist greeted and welcomed me and offered me some water. She also apologized for my wait. The Dr is professional, knowlegable, and polite in her verbal and non verbal communication.
The cons: I had to wait for very close to 2 hours past my appointment time. Which was even more unfortunate because I was not feeling well and the Dr knew that. Literally over a dozen people were seen before me. Everyone who came in AFTER I did was treated first. When I finally did get my turn with the busy Dr, she did not rush me, but I did get a rather grim diagnosis and was offered a very expensive treatment plan that was either several THOUSAND dollars for 3/6 or 9 months with no promise of a cure. This was another disappointment for me because my insurance doesn't cover chiropractors and I don't know many people that can afford to buy a "package" for several thousand dollars up front. I had told The Dr up-front that I would be an out of pocket cash customer. But I had NO IDEA that treatment would be that expensive! The other options offered to me were: take out a line of credit with the CARE credit card (but I don't have a job to pay that back) OR pay for adjustments whenever I would like to come for $75 each! That's literally the second highest price I've found on island! Lastly, though I was given what I felt was a grim diagnosis and could not afford to get any treatment here, the Dr did NOT offer me any ideas of other ways to help myself like stretches, types of pillows that I should be using (though it was mentioned that type of pillows should be evaluated for to great importance), or what may be triggering the poor shape of my spine to begin with. I left very sad...it almost felt like a diagnosis for an untreatable disease.
In conclusion: it left a poor first impression to have to wait as a potentially new patient, for almost 2 hrs. Also, it is very important to me for others to know that treatment at this office is ONLY accessable to those with insurance that will cover their treatments OR for those who are well off enough to have several thousand dollars to pay up front for services. People like myself living within a budget or living meagerly can not have access to the same level of treatment as those who are of financial privilege. Which is very sad. Every person should be just as deserving to have access to a healthy life and healthy back. Not just the people who have a lot of money. I was unable to afford treatment though the assessment said I desperately needed it. And for that reason I give only 3 stars. read more
