I asked if it would be a problem since I needed to get to work and if it wouldn't work I would find a different way since I could not be late. The dispatcher assured me that I would be picked up on time as he put it "i put very important next to your name." With that being said I was confident I didn't need to try and find a different way and everything would be ok. The next morning comes around and I'm ready to go at 530 waiting, looking out the window. Five forty rolls around and there is still no cab. I'm beginning to get nervous, but I figure I did order it twenty minutes early to make sure I wouldn't be late so I can wait a bit more. Now, it's 545 and still no show. It takes ten minutes to get to my work from my house, so now I call cause if they somehow missed me, they need to start coming right now so I can get there. I call and a different dispatcher answers. I tell her my predicament and ask if there is someone on the way. I get a sigh and a "we are doing the best we can to get everyone picked up on time and they are on their way to your house right now." So I get off the phone and wait yet again, hoping that they get here asap. Ten minutes pass, then finally my cab arrives. It is now 6:00 a. m., the time that I'm supposed to be at my job. The cab driver asks if I had been waiting long and without pause I say, "yes, I have. I ordered this cab last night at 9pm for 530 this morning to make sure I got to work on time. Because I cannot risk being late to my job. It is a new job, this is only my 5th day and I'm still a temp." I did everything in my power to make sure i was going to be on time and it didn't matter cause I was lied to by two dispatchers that I was safe in their hands. The cab driver then told me that there's no reason why I shouldn't have been picked up on time as they asked about my scheduled pickup and were told by the dispatch that they weren't to pick me up yet cause "they didn't have time to do my run cause it was all the way to sauk rapids and they were to do their other in town runs first." I was told by the driver that they normally do their runs to the methadone clinic first cause the customers use the cabs every day and are bigger money makers since most of them are paid for with state or insurance money and the cabs are able to charge the maximum available from them regardless of distance or time per run. What a bunch of crap. So I was made to be late to my job because of greedy drivers and a greedy cab company that blatantly lied to me when they knew damn well that they were going to do all their daily clinic runs first regardless of how badly I needed to be on time or how early I had set up my ride. NEVER AGAIN. They will never get my patronage again. I will use any other cab company or Uber or lyft or bike or walk before I trust them to get me to where I need to get. It's obvious to me that they have lost to all these other transportation methods in every way except as a ride to clinics as covered by insurance or the state and they seem to know it and have given up on customer satisfaction. To give closure on my story, I did lose the job because I was not on time for that one time. Thanks Yellow Cab. I even asked if it would be a problem getting me my ride cause if it was I just needed to know so I could find another way. They chose to lie and give me false sense of comfort. I can't wait for them to shut down as they will inevitably with the rise of alternatives that have people who are motivated by good service and have no reason or means to lie to their customers.

I made a round-trip reservation to shuttle my mom from north central Iowa to the Des Moines airport. As it turned out, there was a winter storm and I had to re-schedule to work around flight cancellations, etc. The women who answered the Executive Express reservation line were helpful and accommodating. Even after-hours on a Saturday when I had to make one final schedule change the phone line provided an option to reach a manager who notified the driver that Mom's return flight to Des Moines had been delayed. After her flight landed she was able to easily locate the Executive Express desk near the rental car desks / baggage claim and the driver met her there. She said the drivers were friendly and helpful. Despite the bad weather Executive Express provided great service. The price was not unreasonable compared with gas and parking for a round-trip to Des Moines and the peace of mind of not having to drive was worth it.

Coming…read moreback my United Airline flight was delayed two hours, and I actually landed after the departure of the 11:00 pm shuttle back to St. Cloud. No problem, I thought, but in fact the next scheduled shuttle (12:15 am) simply did not show up. Not sure why. No more shuttle until 4:15 a.m. Impossible to sleep at the airport, so when the 4:15 came I was exhausted. I asked for either a refund or a voucher for future use and customer service said "A reservation does not guarantee a shuttle will be waiting for you in the event that your flight is delayed." So, no refund for me. No voucher either. I suppose the lesson is to not rely on Groome for being available for shuttles toward the end of their daily schedule. It's not clear to me why they ask for my flight information when I make a reservation but apparently don't hold a shuttle when they could see that the plane was arriving late.

We had to ride the whole way (about 4 hours) with windows (only two of them up front) open in 85 degree heat. When we got to transfer center in St Cloud the wonderful driver was kindly explaining the AC problem to a younger woman, a Groome employee, who was manning the counter (about 7-8pm on 23 July 2026). This woman was not nice. She was denegrating the nice driver, insinuating the AC problem was her fault for not opening up the rear vents. I told her the AC wasn't blowing any cold air out of even the front vents and that the vents were open throughout the van. She then became rude even to me claiming the AC was working and had just been repaired. She was very dismissive to me when I was telling her plainly the AC didn't work. This woman at the desk should not work at Groome. I have had the most friendly encounters with EVERYONE at Groome over the last 10 years. But this young lady was downright mean, dismissive and denegrating to me, another passenger who also noted the broken AC system and her own fellow employee, the very nice driver. A broken AC is unacceptable during the summer. But that is nothing compared to watching a nice person get denigrated and then being dismissed myself for reporting a mechanical problem with our van. For this reason I will not recommend Groome Transportation to anyone unless follow up action is taken to 1) fix van's AC and 2) counsel and train the rude employee on how to treat people with kindness.
