My 6yr old daughter benefited greatly from the yoga classes as did my 2yr old son from the sign language classes.

I tell Kathryn all the time how nice it is to drop my daughter off and not worry about her during the day.

LW is my weekly safe space to connect with other parents who are going through the same struggles, to build community, and to steal everyone's best parenting tips! The teachers create the warmest environment and a safe space for parents to ask questions and learn. Watching my son (and now my daughter!) thrive and grow into kind, curious humans and getting to spend precious time with them has been such a gift.

They create a space where children can explore, get messy, build confidence, and simply be kids. One of my favorite things about Little Wonders is the sense of connection. I've watched friendships grow not only among the children, but among the parents as well. Parenting can feel isolating at times, and having a community of people who are going through similar stages of life has been invaluable. The play-based philosophy is something I love. There is no pressure, no rush, and no expectation for children to be anything other than who they are. Instead, they are given the time, space, and support to learn through play, curiosity, and building relationships. For me, Little Wonders has become so much more than a children's program - it's a community that has brought joy, support, friendship, and wonderful memories!

When my first son was 18 months I met Jennifer at a Parent Child class that we attended for a year…read more Learning from her and participating in her classes changed the way I saw myself as a parent and also how I parented. Through her modeling and clear explanation I learned to observe my child and quiet my thoughts so that I could better understand what he was working on in each moment. I also learned about how to be with children using the RIE approach, which offers nuanced, practical ways to show young children respect and care. In the years following our time together, when encountering a parent hurdle, I often thought to myself "What would Jennifer suggest here?" Her guidance went beyond infancy and toddlerhood and helped me support my child with patience and curiosity. Now I have a second son and we have begun attending her classes again. It is such a treat for me and baby to be in her beautifully curated space. Every toy and piece of furniture is developmentally appropriate and thoughtful of the children in the room. Her approach with both adults and children is gentle, open and supportive. She has played a big role in my parenting journey and I recommend her classes to any parent who wants to become closer to themselves and their children. Thanks so much for all the wisdom and care!

We help…read moreyou build the solid foundation that will allow your baby to thrive and your parent-child relationship to be positive and long-lasting. We are the OG mindful and conscious parenting program that guides you to develop your own personal parenting style and meet the needs of your baby, yourself, and your family. The RIE approach is considered best practice in infant/toddler care and has been made popular by RIE Parenting blogger Janet Lansbury. Our infant/toddler parenting classes include: RIE Before Baby (a newborn care class for expecting parents), and RIE Parent-infant classes (a playgroup) for parents with their babies or toddlers. Using the RIE Educaring approach developed by Magda Gerber, you will learn to observe and understand your baby's cues so you can respond in a way that builds security and trust. You'll recognize their strengths and capabilities and learn how to support their ongoing growth in all areas -- gross and fine motor, cognitive and social/emotional as well as attitudes toward living and learning. You'll learn more about infant/toddler development and gain support in problem-solving typical parenting challenges in the early years. This is a mommy & me play group that builds confidence, and allows you to enjoy your baby most of all. You'll establish a joyful relationship from the beginning and set the stage for a secure, confident and capable child.

When my daughter started gymnastics, her biggest dream was to make the team, and in March she…read morefinally achieved that goal. She was so excited and proud of herself. Unfortunately, over time, she lost interest and no longer wanted to go because she didn't feel supported by her new coach, Kyile. She felt that the coach Kyile had something against her and didn't truly care about the girls. As a parent, it was heartbreaking to watch her excitement and passion fade. I hope she finds a gym where the coaches encourage, support, and believe in their athletes so she can fall in love with gymnastics again and regain the confidence she once had.

They are more expensive, don't prorate if they need to cancel, for holidays, etc., and don't give more than one make up time per month (which sucks because everyone knows kids get sick, all the time!). PE automatically prorated tuition and gave makeup tokens ANYTIME a kid was absent. The other thing I noticed is the office staff and coaches still don't know my kid by name, or they don't use her name at least. Every time we walked into PE, we got a "HI ***!" And it just made it more personal. After every session at PE, the coaches gave us a quick overview and some feedback, which was so helpful! We've been here for a little over a year now and the only thing the coaches ever said to us was that our daughter was ready to move up a level. We also noticed that the coaches are pretty young and spend a lot of time talking to each other during sessions instead of giving 1:1 attention to the kids in the class. Overall, our experience has been so-so. We have debated pulling our daughter out and going back to PE, but we want to avoid the drive. It seems like the only kids who get a warm welcome are the ones in competitive groups here and every one else is just in-and-out and treated liked customers.

I have got to give Pacific Edge some love! When Kindergarten appeared to be overwhelming my…read moredaughter ("Dad...It's EVERY DAY?!") she asked me about gymnastics, and her work-outs here have become the highlight of her school week. I admit I browsed the mixed reviews here and had my own doubts, and I also sent an email that never got responded to, but this gym deserves a ton of credit, and here are the reasons: For starters, it is a sprawling, well-organized facility divided strategically for toddlers/beginners, advanced, and parental spectators (me). I was really surprised at how big this place was, as you couldn't tell from the outside. To get enrolled, check out their website, or I wish I had just gone in-person from the start to see the gym and ask my questions. Basically, there is a $100 enrollment fee, granting access to their portal to register for classes. They also have their own mobile app to do this. The classes are organized by date, time, and age/ability level - and limited in size. For my 5-year old, the max class size is 5 students, and while that can make it tough if your time slot is filled, it's ideal so the instructor can give your child more attention. Our daughter's coach is great! Giving her a mix of fun, encouragement, and discipline all at the same time. We're not expecting her to become Simone Biles overnight lol, and we're not sure how long this gymnastics phase will last, but it is a joy to see her try new techniques and find pride in her own accomplishments. Thank you, PESA!

I had complete confidence that Thrive had our best interests at heart every moment my wife and son were in their care. As usual, they practiced informed consent, validation of experiences, and love to a degree that I have never seen or even dreamed of previously in health care settings. The highlight of this birth experience was (of course) the birth itself. This time we were graced with three of the midwives through good fortune. Again, immediately after birth, our newborn struggled to take his first breaths. We waited about 8 minutes for him to take that first breath, and yet, my wife, daughter, son and I were all calm and felt immensely supported in that moment by the three women in our presence who absolutely knew what their calling was and what their roles were in that moment. It is hard to comprehend how different that experience could have felt from a sterile, medical, environment of a hospital, and how different our newborn's first few minutes, hours, and days after birth could have been. Not to mention how the perception and feelings surrounding births could have been malformed for our young son and daughter. We are so immensely thankful to have this collective of women in Sonoma County who are such a breath of fresh air!

We had trouble with breastfeeding and received so much support through text and having them come to our house. We cannot say enough good things about Thrive and Taya, Tracy, Morgan and Hannah.
