If you have a manual transmission, I strongly recommend taking your car somewhere else…read more I paid over $2,000 for a clutch replacement, and instead of fixing my car, I ended up with a whole new list of problems. First, the repair took about a week. I understand this was a couple of weeks before Christmas (last year), and shops can be short staffed or dealing with employees being out sick. What I don't understand is why I had to call every single day just to get an update. Communication throughout the entire process was almost nonexistent. The day I picked up my car, I noticed a strong burning oil smell just before I got home. I immediately turned around and drove back to the shop, where they discovered they had forgotten to reinstall a transmission seal. As a result, transmission fluid had leaked all over my exhaust. When I got home, I checked the transmission fluid myself and found it was nearly empty. Running a manual transmission that low on fluid can cause serious and potentially permanent damage. I took the car to another shop to have the fluid topped off, and they also discovered that Eagle Transmission had forgotten to reinstall one of the exhaust bolts that had been removed during the clutch job. Unfortunately, the problems didn't stop there... I began experiencing hydraulic issues with the clutch and returned to speak with the owner, Scott. I explained my concerns, including the fact that the transmission had never been properly refilled after they corrected the leak. Rather than addressing the workmanship, Scott's response was, "Your transmission is a piece of sh*t. It has spray paint on it, which means it's from a junkyard. You need a transmission rebuild, and that'll cost you another $2,000." If that were true, and my transmission was in such poor condition, you would think they would have mentioned it before installing the new clutch instead of after I returned with problems. To make matters even more concerning, Scott didn't even know where the transmission dipstick was while we were discussing the fluid level. I was so frustrated and insulted, I had to walk out. After receiving advice with another Eagle Transmission location in Cedar Park and doing some research, I returned a few days later and simply asked Scott if they could bleed the clutch hydraulic system. Even after our debate I offered to pay for the service, but he flat out refused. I'm a very patient individual and rarely leave negative reviews, but this was one of the worst experiences I've ever had with an automotive repair shop. Between the lack of communication, careless workmanship, missing hardware, a transmission left nearly empty of fluid, and the way my concerns were completely dismissed, I cannot recommend this location to anyone... especially if you own a manual transmission vehicle. I hope sharing my experience helps someone else avoid the frustration, wasted time, and unnecessary expense that I went through.

Watch out for DJ and this shop. I bought all top of the line Rev Max parts and brought them to this…read moreshop to install. He explained he wouldn't warranty the parts but would his labor. 9 months later it's having shifting problems and line pressure is all over the place. It wasn't drivable. Brought to a very reputable shop near my house. They took it apart and found a ton of thing installed incorrectly. It cost me $4300 to get repaired. I went back to ask DJ for reimbursement and he got very aggravated and refused to discuss options with me to find a resolve. I'll be suing this shop due to faulty labor and installation of my $8,000 in parts. Not to mention the damage to my new parts.

Beware of Faterkowski's Transmission. These guys are professional con artists! I was Driving my 14…read moreGMC Sierra 1500 from Phoenix, Az..and start to have some issues with my transmission, some jerking in 5 and 6th gear, similar to a bad spark plug, i passed it off as bad gas and put some fuel additive in the tank. No check engine light on. An hour later i notice an obvious slip in 5th gear so i immediately downshift to 4th and drive at 55-60 mph.. no issues driving like this. So i happen to be 1.5 miles from this family owned transmission shop. I bring my trick in, talk to DJ Faterkowski. I told him i never had a check engine light. Next morning, i Drove the truck 1.5 miles to his shop. As i sat in his waiting room waiting for to let me know he would be leaving... he didnt let me know..He took my truck without letting me know, i wanted to be in the truck so i could prevent a situation of what im about to tell you.The guy was gone for 30 minutes and i was very upset, not to mention i had all my personal belongings, work equipment etc.. Comes back and hooks up the diagnostic.. he then walks in 10 minutes later.. well i couldnt get it to slip for a while but i had to make it trigger the check engine light. He said, "i got the temperature upto 217 and it finally got stuck in gear and wouldnt go over 40. He said changing the fluid isnt going to help it needs to be rebuilt. I can drop the pan and kinda give you an idea if what its gonna cost.. so i said ok.. he comes back with $3200 and possibly your going to need pump changed, if so, the pumps gonna cost 700.00 so we're at $3900 of thats the case..he told me these pumps hardly ever go out, of course he comes back 10 minutes later and tells me the pumps bad. I say fix it.. inhave to have my truck. So about 20 minutes go by and im sitting in his office, while he's out in the shop. So i go out ask for the total, he says, $5400.00, and i absolutely blow a fuse and he knows it. Im extremely upset at this point and he knows it. I say to him... ylu told me 3900...And he says.... uhhh well the 5400 is with all the upgrades, and i said upgrades??? What are you talking about, i dont need upgrades!! And he says ok well i was gonna put this shift kit to help you get better shifting and you wont have this problem again . And i told him NO! I want it stock! So after 20 minutes i go backbinto his garage and ask for a firm price and for something on paper..With a cigarette hanging out of his mouth, he looked at me and said, " You want me to do paperwork or you want me to fix your truck!!! Its gonna be 4353.23 We do everything from a handshake around here!! No paperwork!! He said he'd give me a printout of everything that was done once its finished. Then he takes me into a room and shows me an old box with fresh clear tape on it, cuts the tape and shows me.. look, i happen to have a brand new torque converter for your truck. Knowing good and well this is part of their trick. If you've been through this, you'll understand how phony this trick is. Being that my transmissions in 50 pieces in 3 different rooms, and if i change my mind at that point, it was going to end up costing me more $$ and more time. Was i going to go into his parts room and sort my parts out and put them in my truck? And get charged $500-$800 for removing my transmission. They're professionals at making sure they get take your money. I called aamoco and the guy told me its about what they would charge but i'd get a 3 yr warranty with aamoco verses a 1 yr with this Faterkowski place. Against my judgement but under these circumstances i had fallen into, i tell them to go ahead and fix it for the 4323.53 that he just knew off the top of his head... this coming from a guy who told me it would take 45 minutes to write up a quote and had to figure out everything... but ironically was able to do the math in a fraction of a second when i demanded a final price. Beware!! They will trap you into having a completely disassembled transmission, and try to drain you to the max. I drove the truck for 1 day. Traded in on a new one. Felt so strong against their ethics and treatment, i was not willing to risk any future issues with their work. Website claims a 3 yr/100,000 mile warranty. My invoice says, 1 yr/ 12,000 mile warranty. Crooks! They destroyed my transmission to the point where i was in a situation i couldnt leave and price shop, without giving me the option to verify any truth to what their story was. 'We do business on a hand shake round here!" Well they ripped me thats for sure. Beware!
