Staff worker recommended us to buy a few samples ($5 each) to put on the wall and stare at it over a days and see which one fits. Because once it's made and tinted, it's not refundable, even if you don't end up using it.

I explained & he said "we don't sell Craftsman, go to Home Depot!" . Never mind that I bought the set at ACE, perhaps something changed or this particular store doesn't have or doesn't like to honor warranties, or the attendants just don't appreciate their jobs or customers. I called Lowe's Covina & Edgar in Tools said "craftsman are guaranteed for life, bring it in & we'll swap it...but please give me the size & I'll make sure we have it in stock". 25 minutes later I walked out of Lowe's with a brand new replacement wrench. We're told to buy local and that ACE has better service than "big box stores". Unfortunately that is not true. I wish Max's Hardware only the best, but I will NEVER return to this store and will cancel my ACE discount/rewards card membership.

This review is not about them. They asked me to call back the next day to speak to the owner. Like I said, I was very polite, I wasn't mad, I just wanted to understand what happened. I figured it was possible that the mistake was on the shop's end and thought they would make amends for it if that was the case. I was not expecting a free new piece of glass or a refund. I just wanted to know what happened. After explaining the situation, the first words out of the owner's mouth were, "Listen carefully because I'm only going to say this one time..." He proceeded to scold me and insult my family for, according to him, providing him the wrong measurements. Then he repeated over and over that the order was nonrefundable. I said, I understand that. I just want to know what measurements were jotted down and whether there is a discrepancy between that and the actual numbers. He lost his mind. I knew it was a lost cause, so I just hung up. My family was considering reordering for the correct size, but his approach was absolutely horrible. Given the rest of the reviews, it seems like this is a common occurrence. To hell with this company.

Nothing was done right, water heater with no hot water, installed brand new AC with no cold air coming out, all new windows with cracks all around, they use different paint to paint over a patched wall, they broke our brand new toilet's flush handle and replaced with the cheapest one they can find at a local hardware store, a pocket door that will close half way. Worst of all, they will ask their clients to take a tour at your house when you are not around or at work so those clients can see their work. Of course, they unlock the door first. We didn't know until one day, my mother-in-law told us that they bumped into a couple of strangers inside of our house and those strangers told them the contractor gave them our address so they can see what a nice work they have done on our house. We will file a complaint to the state board, hoping that they can stop this company before they start another nightmare to innocent homeowners!

They asked. $40,000 more on my project and other contractor did under $4000. Not reliable, bad quality, never done one thing right, breach contract, worst worst company. After 3 months, the contractor still has not paid. I file complaint on California state license board and suspend their license. The contractor paid me every cent including judgment interest and expenses to lift the suspension.

He was difficult to communicate with and overall very reluctant to help with anything beyond painting, such as removing smoke detectors and patch up the hole to paint the area. The paint job looked good upon first glance but because he freehanded the project and didn't tape out sections that should be left unpainted, there were paint droplets left all over the various surfaces of my place. He also completely forgot to paint the back of the closet doors, and did not respond to my texts and emails asking for them to be completed. If you don't care about having perfect quality, he'd be the person to go to, but otherwise find someone who is more meticulous.
