The morning of the start of the project, Alex came to go over the project with my husband to make sure they were both understanding of the work that was to be done. My husband was concerned about a drain pipe next to where the cement would be poured, and was worried about it being damaged during the dirt removal. After the dirt was removed, Alex ran water down the drain to show us that the pipe was undamaged. He listened to my husband and made sure to pour the cement a couple inches from the drain pipe, so there was no chance of any damage. Alex was also very flexible with scheduling. He was able to reschedule the cement pour day on short notice, so that my husband would be home on that day. Alex and his crew arrived on time, which I appreciate. I've had a lot of work done in the past, and it always upsets me when contractors are late. At the end of each workday, the crew cleaned meticulously to ensure the work area was clear of dirt and debris. Alex and his crew were always respectful of our property. The price was very reasonable, and I had received more than 8 bids. Alex is honest, a good communicator, and his crew are hardworking and punctual. I'd highly recommend giving Alex a call.

They took a large 10k+ sqft area of grass that was tough keeping green all year and turned it into a beautiful multi functional courtyard, all while staying in budget. Not only that, Omar's design included more features for less than what was quoted by others. Top of the line, we will use him and his team in the future!

Look at before and after photo that I posted - they made such a difference to the aesthetic and I get happy and excited to pull up to my home. The front yard is much more functional - added turf which is looks luscious and great in person, added steps so my guests and delivery drivers don't trip over bushes, a concrete patio, and extended the driveway. Also replaced my immature baby tree with a palm *heart eyes*. Omar took my idea, suggested other great ideas and turned my vision into real life. The pricing was competitive, but very fair. Omar and his crew came in and DID WORK! These guys worked hard to finish the project over the next few days, it was impressive. They were fast, knowledgeable and knew what to do. Their attention to detail is perfection. Thank you Omar! ps, for anyone looking at the after picture - this picture was taken same day of completing the project. so the concrete was still curing hence the discoloration. the concrete is almost cured and matches the concrete color previously installed :) also, not pictured are the solar step lights they installed after the concrete cured. i'll add a pic later. its simple, but add a nice touch and illuminates very well at night.

The original landscaping was…read morecompleted six years ago, and I was impressed with how well Brian matched both the stucco and concrete color to the existing work. He also took responsibility for a few issues that came up during construction -- he replaced a damaged pathway light, repaired a cracked concrete curb, and resodded areas of grass affected by the Bobcat. I genuinely appreciate those efforts. However, I was disappointed that my landscape lighting system was left completely inoperable. The crew cut the landscape wiring in multiple places during excavation, and none of my lights work now. Brian declined to repair the wiring, explaining that they had to "manipulate" the slope and that locating the wires would have been too difficult. He described it as an "easy fix." Maybe for him, but not for me. My electrician charges $225 per hour just for a service call. After several conversations with Brian, we reached an impasse. He maintained that the wiring repair was not his responsibility, so it will now fall on me to hire an electrician and absorb the cost. There is no language in the proposal stating that the contractor is not liable for damage to electrical components. However, the contract does state that "every effort is made to perform this work in a quality workmanlike manner." Given that, I expected the wiring to be repaired as part of good customer service. Two of my neighbors were waiting for my project to be completed so they could hire him next. After hearing about the unresolved wiring issue, they have decided to go with another contractor. For now, I'll be without landscape lighting until I can budget for the repair, which is disappointing after an otherwise solid project.

We stated with 5 contractors and by the time we got through all 5 I knew Kyle was the best choice. His quote was not only the best of 5 but also offered the best design. Kyle has a laid back personality but also was so knowledgeable in building pools he just made everything feel stress free from the day he came over to discuss ideas for we had in mind. Kyle didnt discourage any ideas and also offered his professional creativity. Once we started the dig Kyle stayed on top of the entire schedule. As nosey as I wanted to be to figure out "whats next" Kyle already had the next process started, week by week until we were done. He also worked with really great subcontractors, every crew that came on site was so nice, respectful and just seemed to be open to communicate if i had questions or curiosity. I never thought I'd love and enjoy the space as much as I do now and im soo thankful we chose Kyle as our contractor. Zero regrets, great communication, fair adjustments (if any hiccups in the process happened) and 100% overall satisfaction on our yard. I highly recommend K. Rainey Construction.

We used Ramon and his company CR Pacific Landscaping for a significant backyard makeover. Our yard…read morewas quite nice, but as we are nearing retirement there were a few changes we wanted to make it our dream yard. First, we considered a swimming pool but the cost, maintenance and several other factors changed our direction to a swim spa. We chose the AquaPlay 13FPP. Because the spa stands over 5 feet tall, we knew we wanted it set into the earth. Next: I've had Koi for many years, but all ponds so far were DIY - it was time to go all in. Plants: As you can see from the "before" photo - plants are important to us. Finally: Ease of maintenance. We wanted an incredible yard that we could enjoy without spending a bunch of time maintaining it. After obtaining several bids and meeting several contractors, we signed an agreement with Ramon. Three of the primary reasons we went with CR Pacific: 1) He was the only contractor we spoke with that had actual experience building "The Vault" - (the basement the swim spa sat in). 2) He had experience building water features and understood the basics, but building a pond of this size and mechanical requirements was new to him. 3) He has a great personality and appeared to be collaborative. The Good: Ramon proved to be quite collaborative. He had ideas, I had ideas and we worked together to land on the best ideas. We had problems arise (see "The Ugly"), but Ramon only delivered solutions or possible solutions. He owned the entirety of the project (even through at least 8 change orders). His common response to a change order: "We can do that" - and they did. From a client/contractor perspective, Ramon has great communication skills. He kept me informed every step of the way. Quality: The photos speak for themselves. Ramon was insistent on doing things right. Ramon had put around a dozen drains in the backyard properly piped to the street. I gave him a hard time as before he took the job, we only had two drains. We did experience some minor flooding when we would have the torrential rains. About a week after the project wrapped, we had several days of torrential rains - not even a puddle in the yard. The Bad: On site supervision could be better. Ramon had about 6 employees, most only spoke Spanish. Because I work from home I kept an eye on the progress. When I would see something that needed correction I had to use Google Translate to communicate with the workers. I often had to text Ramon inquiring if he was going to stop by. This was a significant, complex job. That is really my only "Bad". Clearly "The Good" far exceeds "The Bad". The Ugly: Water, water everywhere... While the vault was being dug, we started noticing water in the bottom of the hole at around 38". We spent a little over a week pumping it out. We contacted the water company who told us there did not appear to be a main break in the neighborhood. They suggested it could be groundwater. When the started digging the pond, groundwater continued to be a problem. Ramon dug and installed a permanent groundwater well - groundwater continues to be pumped out daily. Just another example of Ramon's perseverance. I highly recommend Ramon & CR Pacific for any landscape job.
