Johns sober living is a level 4 (highest ranking) care facility. That means that they have the highest level of clinical care and quality of service. It is just short of in-patient treatment. I know John, his story and his passion to serve in this field. He, and his staff, are as good as it gets at this level of care! David Baldwin

His sober living homes are a direct reflection of his messages of hope. I am a private practitioner drug and alcohol counselor, resources like the John Patton Sober Living Homes are critical to help sustain what my clients are trying to achieve in their lives. One such client was facing prison. His family struggled to provide numerous resources to help their son who suffered from an untreated mental health condition. His criminal charges were a direct result of his mental illness but the only interventions he received were incarceration. This person's judge recognized this man's struggle and granted him probation in order to receive treatment and guidance at one of John Patton's homes. Austin Shook, John's right hand man, not only came to the hearings for this man but waited until he was released to personally drive him to the home he would be living. The subsequent progress reports reflected a clear change in this man's life. He was now stable, maintaining employment, and maintaining his sobriety. For the first time in this man's life, he is actively participating in the treatment programs provided at his sober living home and is able to manage his mental health to achieve stability, which hopefully he will sustain. The changes in this man since his placement in his sober living home and program has been an absolute miracle. John Patton Sober Living Homes will always be my first choice because the program works! I went through several diffrent groups before I started to attend the 4D CA group. But I've always felt welcomed by everyone there. I'm sorry the other person had a bad experience, but this place was recommended to me by a friend and so I tried it out, and haven't regretted it once in the past several months I've been coming.

Anyway, I got there are 3:30pm, thinking it started at 4, and there was a lady there in the left corner. I said hi, and asked for the restroom. Soon after we got to chatting, she said her name was Terry, I introduced myself, And I told her how this was gonna be my third time I think that was first. I told her please don't judge me, cuz she was just looking at me. I already deal with anxiety and it made me uncomfy. But then progressively she got more irritated and anxious I guess cuz no one was there yet and that she was worried there wouldn't be enough seats or some junk and she had like 3 seats saved it was really weird. Then her friend came in and I just smiled at him and then they got to talking in the corner and it was all weird and secretive and I felt uncomfy, then the next man came in, I tried engaging in conversation with her and her friend, and she didn't reply, her friend had to. It was very odd. She was then talking to the new guy who runs the group and very loudly and obnoxiously. By this time I feel really unwelcome and my social anxiety was topped off. Clearly, the hen of the house, Terry, didn't like newcomers there, or has a problem with new women attending group. and for me, we women should be more welcoming. I got my things and left. I hope you had enough seats, Terry! I didn't appreciate this at all. The last two meetings I went to the gentleman were so kind to welcome me, but this from a fellow woman is unacceptable. Thanks for hearing me out. --- Reply: Hello, I will not presume to speak for anyone's behavior that I did not witness. All are welcome at Dallas Pathways on Sunday. We had two ladies for their first meeting and they were well received.  GA places principles before personalities. I have had to learn to deal with a variety of people and a few uncomfortable situations in GA. I learned by listening and sharing with those I do not agree with or understand. GA places the message of abstinence and recovery above the messengers. You claim that we failed you. Please consider giving us another chance. Consider online meetings as social anxiety may be an issue for you. Remember that you rejected the Pathways phone list offered to you that has the online information. It is strictly prohibited to record or screenshot any GA meeting. Pathways does have an online component. I wish you the best in your abstinence and recovery from resources both in and outside of GA. Sincerely, GA coordinator - Sundays Dallas --- My reply: I don't appreciate you finding fault with me not taking a phone list. Also very judgmental and unnecessary. ---didn't include this last bit but I've gone to non spiritual associated groups that treated me better than this last time with that Terry lady. So unkind and very loud and seems as if the attention must be on her at any given moment. So strange for what is to be a group thing. Thumbs down Terry.

Large…read moreprivate rooms with huge TV's, queen beds with all new mattresses and high thread count linens. Only the best. That's how they do it at Elements. From the Breville espresso maker to the grand piano in the living room, or the putting green out back and egg smoker on the deck. And it's situated in the warm niche neighborhood of Lakewood, right in Swiss Avenue in the heart of Dallas. The area is like a small borough in NYC, where you can see the beautiful skyline as you walk to anywhere you need to go, like trendy and quality restaurants, spa treatments, haircuts, banks, even the gym which they provide memberships for clients. Location is important because it puts residents in close proximity to a ton of people in recovery, and different recovery meetings nearby. There are several A.A., NA, Dharma, and SMART recovery meetings nearby, and weekly they have an NA meeting and a Dharma recovery meeting at the house which are both excellent and well attended. But the really precious thing about Elements is the people. The residents are all highly motivated towards recovery and supportive of one another. The house manager is vigilant and committed to keeping residents on track. Drug testing weekly and breathalyzers every night. He also coordinates and participates in community service events like feeding the homeless. The Sober Coach is one of the best in the country. He is instrumental in reframing the situation as it applies to each individual and their long term recovery goals. He helps with relationships and communication with loved ones and advocates for the residents. He leads outreach ventures eg to maximum security prisons and includes residents in these outings. The Life Coach is one of the smartest people I've ever met. She helps residents with everything from the simple tasks of linking bank accounts where they need to go, to formalizing and updating their resumes and doing interview prep. And all of them are networked all over DFW and can get the resident in front of of exactly the right people to achieve their objectives. I've seen residents come through here and transform their lives for the better, improving their relationships, education, and career opportunities. It's a beautiful thing to see the positive transformation that occurs during a resident's time at Elements and working with the team. Highest rating. I could not endorse more emphatically. Five Stars. I sincerely appreciate this place, these people, and what they do.
