I went to the store tonight. I enter the store at 9:45 pm. I went in through the e it door since they were closing in the next 15 minutes, I was just going to pick up few items since I knew they were about to close. The cashier saw me entering thw store with a cart ans greet me. They announced through the speakers that they were gonna close soon but it wasn't 10:00 p. Yet. I rushed and grab what I wanted, and a meat clerk saw me as he was leaving, he acknowledged me and said go said something to me like good night. I went to grab one last item to make my way to the registers when the person the greet me when I enter the store saw me amd asked if I was still shopping. I looked at my clock amd saw it was 10:57 p.m. she said ww dont have anymore registers we already took them out we cannot charge you anymore, she seemed annoyed the I was still there so she took me to the front door which was locked and went to look for her supervisor to unlock the door for me. I looked at the time it was barely 10:00 pm. They were in a rush to leave so the lady supervisor told me off because I was still there. I had to leave all the merchandise and look for a Stater Bros that would be open. The store hours said that they close at 10:00 pm. Not only they were closed before that but also they made leave everything and told me off because I was still inside the store shopping. Because of my schedule I sometimes fo to the store close to the time they are closing but I have never been told that I can't take the merchandise because they are closed before their store hours, nor I have been told off for being at a store during business hours because the employees want to leave. Re Visited this location today after about 2.5 years. Not sure what's changed but the Carnitas purchased here were amazing. Produce and store cleanliness was like never before. I used to be a regular here but stopped because felt like the upkeep on the store was going downhill including the quality of the hot food, taste and freshness it just wasn't in the food anymore. Today I gave them another shot before completely cutting this location off and I was surprised to how fast and efficient I was given my order. My carnitas were hot and fresh! I can't believe this place!!! the kitchen is a wreck. grease on one off the extension cords where it plugs a next extension. the Fire Sprinkler is caked over with grease as well! the vents for swamp coolers to cool the area is layered grease as if it was smoothed over like a sweet topping. if the origin owner from the tortilla factory days in Chino saw this place I'm sure he would fire managers and buy it back from the Chinese group who bought it. All the Mexican Market's with the name El Super Cardenas La Superior are very low class and standards. I took pictures of the Cardenas and im sure the fire department would close this place. if I was the manager I'd resign or risk it with the owners to get the money and a overnight crew to mop that place till shine. I love this place because of the bakery. If you look at all the photos I took you'll see what I mean. They are also really cheap! I originally came here looking for guava paste, but got sidetracked for 30 min in this section. I did get to look around they have an array of Mexican culinary needs and utensils. The meat dept. looked really good I wanted to buy something, but I didn't. Now the workers. Clueless employees who had no idea what I was taking about when asked if they sold guava paste. And no they didn't. So I went to another place in hopes of finding one. read more

Poor customer service. Staff didn't seem to care about or even help us in anyway whatsoever. There were no shopping carts and she told me to find one in the parking lot! I couldn't believe my to ears. At the cash registers, there were long line but they didn't open up any more registers. There were staff members just talking with each other. The overall attitude seemed to convey that customers my go to hell. On shelves, specials were marked with LARGE signs but prices at cash register was higher. I noticed and told the cashier. She went to the shelves to verify rather than call for assistance on the intercom. There were at least six customers behind me but that cashier didn't care just like the rest of the staff. Management better than their staff and supervise the floor. The worse customer service ever! Way too expensive comparatively. read more

I was the first waiting another lady after me, when a Latino guy decides to help other customers that were showing up after us. He continued to ignore me and the other lady that was there. So this is the third time I come to the Cardenas in Colton for specific item. First off it's raining and there's no shopping carts and they have no handheld baskets. When I asked about the carts, I was told by one of their checkers I have to go outside and get one myself, what? So I'm having to carry all the items I want to buy plus putting items in my pocket. Their employees just kept looking at me. I think they thought I was stealing because I was being watched by their employees as they walked down across the isles. Second of all their hot food department advertises they carry a certain item but in the three times that I've been there they do not have it. every time I ask for a specific item, I am always told, that they do have it just not right now. Why don't they take the sticker off the little window that shows the item where it's supposed to be. I am going to go do my shopping from now on at the Fontana Cardinas or El Súper. Because their employees are not helpful and they don't know anything about the items they sell. read more

I always come her for their champurrado its Delicious! But today I came in for take out because I love their carnitas special for $12.99 you get 1lb carnitas, tortillas, salsa, bean and rice. Enough for 2 people. I waited 10 in line because there was basically only 1 person taking the orders, charging and serving the food! An employee who was on his lunch also in line said he gets mad beccause the lady is so nice and that the other employees take advantage and leave her by herself. He went to seek help but no one was available. He was on his lunch he didn't have to but he was nice. I spent almost half and hour just to buy take out. Someone should talk to management. read more

I will absolutely not be back. I went to buy groceries. I haven't been here in a long time. I saw they had self check out now which is fine since most stores are doing that now. When I went to pay, they ONLY had self check out. I had a BUNCH of veggies/fruits. I had to type everything in myself. I don't mind the self check out as an OPTION for the customer but forcing me, no thanks! That was dreadful! Took me far too long! A trained cashier would have had me out of there in like 3 minutes tops!!! I had to click "skip bagging" after each item since I had my bag in the cart. It did take me a minute to realize that I had to do that since my item was not scanning. Im not there to work, Im there to buy. My parents will also not be back. read more

Cardenas markets cater to the Latin community so some employees may have limited English. If you do not speak Spanish you may have a communication problem with some employees. I shop in different Cardenas locations. Produce is really inexpensive and carry good variety of fruits. I mainly go for the produce or for the tres leches cake This specific location is really terrible. Very dirty location, stains all over the floors. The restaurant area was very dirty and the condiment bar was a mess. Ido not know how they do not pass the grade The meat department has a terrible smell of roten meat. I would not buy any meat here. I give this place 2 stars because my experience was less than satisfactory. Inconsistency - last time I got a carne asada burrito, it was good! The carne was cooked fresh on the grill, burrito was the size of a baby's thigh. -I came back for the fresh cooked carne, only to be served over cooked, over dried meat. The kind you throw out, cuz it was rock hard. Then the burrito was the size of a baby's bicep. How do you go from "really good" to "not fit for consumption" in 2 weeks?
