I had a problem with a tire and I was a bit concerned (I have fairly unusual tires that are difficult to find). They took it, diagnosed the problem in about 15 minutes and it turned out to be something very minor. While I was there I had them do some routine maintenance (oil change, air filter, tire rotation, etc.). I was in and out in about 90 minutes and the price was very reasonable. The seem like good, honorable mechanics. Also, their online appointment system worked flawlessly. I set a time, they offered a different time (just two hours later), they confirmed by text and email and were ready and waiting for me when I arrived. So often those online/electronic systems do not work. This was terrific. I will be back.

But, they said they didn't know if they could do a drain and fill with filter replacement for auto 2012 passat and they said I had to take it in to see if they could. I did and they called me saying they could do it. Great, the dealer charges about 500 and I could do ot myself for under 339. Service advisor said it would be over 1000 dollars and if I didn't want it that I pay 85 for them telling me what a ridiculous, twice as much as VW dealer would charge. They had my car so I paid the 85 and want them to know they lost a customer for now unless something happens. Why did I not be told 85 bucks just to see if they can do a job?

I chose not to go to the dealer anymore as I found out that I was being charged significantly too much. I did a search for auto repair shops near me and found Stolze's. They had excellent reviews, so I called for an appointment and was pleased that they could get me in the next day. I take brakes very seriously and was prepared for a big expense. Fortunately, the technician told me that the brakes were not as bad as I feared and the cost was less than I expected. They completed the service promptly and the cost was right on track with the quote they gave me. The staff was very friendly and made me feel that they genuinely cared about me. It's hard to find this kind of commitment to service with today's big box stores. I feel they took good care of me, charged fair prices with no surprises, and therefore, I will be taking my car there for service from now on. I would strongly recommend them to others in need of service.

In my case, I have owned 2 Outback's since 2016 and drive them between CA and WI. I have experience w sales, service in a couple locations and I find the Kocourek dealership to be a better choice. I have 2 experiences to compare Kocourek to others. 1. Service, last week I brought my Outback in for 60K service knowing rear pads were at 2mm from another location check 3K miles ago. I got a quote for service and breaks from my Subaru dealer in CA and the out the door price was over $2300. Doing the same service here plus rear brakes ran me just over $1400. I drive down from 3Lakes area and wait for the car... they arranged for a rental so I could tool around Wausau for a few hours. all in all a great day. 2. Sales, last week when I was doing service, I reviewed purchasing a 2nd Subaru for the family. having purchased 2 Outback's in CA I found that getting anything less than MSRP is nearly impossible without broker or fleet connections... Whereas here in the Midwest, Kocourek started at $2500 off MSRP. Then when picking up the car today, they said that they had pre-installed "undercoating" but were absorbing it... as a courtesy for the few days of back and forth texts and emails to close the deal. Bottom line, this dealer is over the top in both service and sales compared to the 2 local dealers I am used to in Northern California. Happy to share I am a big fan.
