Koditek, has taken over this shop and I highly recommend him to any and all poindexters out there like myself.

I have severe medically induced PTSD due to the death of my sister after four doctors misdiagnosed her. I have a damaged liver due to a doctor over prescribing seizure medication. I told her about this and she was calm and patient and friendly. The doctor was also friendly, professional and explained everything clearly it is amazing how technology has advanced since I was 16 and got my first pair of John Lennon style glasses in 1966. After the exam was finished, and (I'm sorry I can't remember her name or the doctor's name) the front desk worker showed me the various frames told me how much they would cost. Truly upfront about costs. She measured me for the frames I picked out. Everyone was friendly, and knows what they are doing. They all take time with you so you know you matter to them. None of the rushing that happens in some clinics So very glad I found this place They do take Cigna, which is supplemental or in addition to Medicare

Worse experience ever with an eye clinic! Started with the Dr not knowing some of my questions…read moreabout glasses, made me very suspicious of his knowledge and experience. Then the glasses that I got were not good, I could not see very good with them and the frames did not feel good. They did let me get another pair at no charge and they are working now, otherwise I would have given them 0 stars. Now to the money part! I have insurance and my copay for the glasses was $338. They told me that otherwise my visit with new glasses was going to be over $1,500! Which I know is way too high. But anyway I paid the $338. Then about 45 days later, I got a bill from them for $60. I called their billing and asked why and they could not tell me why. Just that insurance did not pay enough. So I called my insurance and asked them about it and they said that it was all paid and there should not be another bill. I called Myeye again and talked to someone else (you can't get the same person) and I got the same answer, I just owed $60 and need to pay it. Next, I called my insurance again and the insurance lady and I got on a 3 way call with Myeye billing again and they talked while I listened and the Myeye person could not explain it to the insurance lady why I still owed money. So he said he would put it on a 60 day hold and try to figure it out. Now, it has been over 60 days and I never heard anything more from them at all. Until yesterday, I got a bill from Myeye with no explanation again and says I owe $60. So now I start the *&^%$#@! all over again. Stay away from Myeye!

The new lenses were a little off. They made me a little dizzy walking around with them. I told the optician my concerns, but her responses were repeatedly a dismissive "weird" and "interesting." Only saying they were the same prescription. Fine, but I could not see as well as the original ones. Even after I mentioned that I've had glasses not right at other places, they had been able to adjust them perfectly, and could she try that? She made a slight adjustment to the nose piece and told me to wear the lenses for a few days. That was silly, as I should be able to see through them as perfectly as the originals...and they made me dizzy! The fact that she was so unwilling to help was incredibly frustrating. Ultimately, I had to refuse the new lenses and have my old ones put back in. Her immediate "okay" showed a complete lack of concern. I am disappointed that spending $700 gets me this kind of customer service. If I could have seen clearly, I obviously would have walked away with them. I drove from Boulder to get them. She was completely unconcerned that these did not work for me. Glasses are expensive. Go somewhere where your vision is important to them.

While there may be other providers in town, this team sets the standard for care, clarity, and community connection. Tucked away on Hecla, the Harris docs are youthful, highly competent, and experienced professionals who are enthusiastic about eye care. And they don't miss a beat. It is a breath of fresh air coming from being treated like a number, as a case study for a clumsy intern, or from a jaded doc who barely says a word to educate you, or with whom you must ask 20-questions, before sending you out the door with a big bill. They are collaborative, straightforward, and want you to know what's going on with your eyes, what they will be monitoring, and how your family history may affect you. No surprises. Their bedside is excellent. Additionally, they have paired up with excellent craftsman-opticians to hand-cut, assemble, and adjust your eyewear to custom fit you via their in-house lab. Seth took care of me. He is a master optician and a consummate yet down-to-earth professional who knows his trade. So, you can say goodbye to cheap eyeglasses arriving surreptitiously on your doorstep from the internet. They might do for backups -- but once you've worn eyewear crafted here by these folks, you won't want to go back. I discovered that they do a lot of local outreach and are in touch with both the needs and resources of the community. I hit a rough patch, and they were willing to work with me to restore my vision. You simply can't find that level of care and compassion at a corporate chain like Costco or Pearl Vision, where you're treated as just another customer. Nor at high-turnover practices where providers constantly change or the focus is on volume over care (such as I found at Boulder Eye Surgeons). If you ask me, this level of care and attention is what's needed to balance our backwards healthcare system that treats eyes as luxury organs (and teeth as luxury bones). All that is left to say is that this office and all its staff are quality, hardworking folks who care about doing a good job and genuinely appreciate the people and community they serve. They do not skimp on patient care and satisfaction, no matter your condition. If you have ever felt like just a number or in the dark about what's going on with your vision, then "look" no further than Eye Doctors of Louisville. They work hard because they know you do, too.
