Hadnt actually made a booking, as we hadnt planned to be staying in Edinburgh, so we were delighted they had space.
The room was clean but for me, the heating was on full blast, so felt a bit suffocating, so we turned it off and for the 2nd night it was on full blast so when we came in at night it was like an oven, so i didnt sleep very well. The bed was pretty solid, n the towels available were very rough, felt like you were drying yourself with sand paper!
I noticed whn i was lyin in bed that parts of the roof and wall hadnt been painted, just felt like not alot of money had been spent on the place but maybe it was just our room? As the rest of the place seemed nice. The guy in charge? Was lovely, was very helpful.
We only had breakfast on the second morning, it was nice, and a good selection if you were only wanting continental.
Overall we enjoyed our stay, but im in 2 minds if i would stay again as i liked it but there were things such as the hard bed, heat, towels that wasnt the greatest but for £70 a night couldnt really complain, as its just a short walk into the town centre. read more
