After hiking in Telluride we decided we needed some Middle Eastern food as a reward. We looked at the menu online and decided this was the place. It's more of a food truck than a restaurant but don't let the stop you from going. Plenty of outdoor seating if the weather is nice. We had the Falafels and Lamb Kaffta Kebab sandwich. Everything tasted delicious. It takes a little bit to get your order but the service is great and the family is friendly. A little bummed the sandwich did not come with a side like chips or fries. Came to Telluride in the April offseason not knowing it's an absolute ghost town during this time of year. Most of the restaurants, bars, shops, and even the gondola are all closed until next ski season. Caravan is one of the few eateries open during the offseason, so my fiance and I gave it a go. It still hurts that we came here with not much to do in town, but this delicious Mediterranean food and the warm customer service were a bright spot in our trip. We each had a kabob plate which was plenty filling albeit a little pricey (as ALL the food is around here). Lamb kabob special: Juicy, herbaceous goodness. Loved it with the mint yogurt. Chicken kabob: Also very juicy with a nice char. SO good. French fries: Delicious and good for 2. A bit salty but we loved the texture and taste. Tabbouleh: Fresh and tasty Hummus: Very good with the soft pita. Spanakopita: Definitely a must-get. Flakey, fresh, and delicious spinach inside. We scarfed this one down in record time. Terrible. What a shame, this used to be our favorite spot in Telluride, and it's gone way down hill. I think there are new owners. Last time we ate here we got the Beef kabob with hummus, falafel and there was such a beautiful salad, plenty of pitas... this time the plate came with two measly pitas, the salad was old lettuce and one grape tomato, everything tasted bland compared to our last experiences. It's nice to have some outdoor seating on a nice Fall day. It's also nice to have a fresh salad topped with a kebab. Got the meal deal and opted for salad on both of the sides. It worked out nicely as my gf and I both got just the right amount of food for a pre-dinner snack. The tables are in a nice courtyard space. You just walk up, order, and take your seat (assuming you're staying there to eat). I think they have a pretty good takeout business. The juice drinks, smoothies, or whatever they were looked pretty good. No complaints at all on the kebab. The meat was well prepared. The romaine was fresh and the pita bread was delish. Caravan is pretty well rated on Yelp at the time I'm writing this. The combination of that and our friend getting a good looking dish there first ultimately had us wanting to try it out. We had just arrived in Telluride and were hungry for just about anything . The reviews looked good, but let me tell you, it's underrated. Diana and David are wonderful hosts, welcomed us, and we're patient with our dietary restrictions. They really blew us away. Delicious hummus, kebabs, lentil soup and salad really hit the spot. The Crispy fries, tender beef kebabs were cooked just right and and the attentive staff made it a home run. We will be back next trip to telluride read more

I absolutely loved coming to Caravan. Its set up outside and you order at the window of the caravan up front and seat yourself at any of their garden tables or picnic tables. There are flowers everywhere, umbrellas to shade you from the sun, and a great view of the mountains and Colorado St. Their menu looked awesome with so many great dishes to choose from. My boyfriend and I both got a falafel sandwich, which was one of the best I've ever had. We tried a salad and the hummus as well, which were both delicious. The only thing I was missing was something to eat the hummus with. Pita bread, crackers, olives, cucumber slices, anything to dip in there would have been appreciated, but we just incorporated it into our sandwiches and salad and it was delicious both ways. I nearly cried into my vegetarian mezze, it was that excellent! My husband and l even stayed with our 3 little girls longer in town because of that outstanding middle eastern place. The tabouleh was the best l have ever had, and that includes my travels to Egypt and Jordan: surprisingly, they put quinoa in it - it gave the usually very strong taste of tabouleh a milder, just extraordinary flavour. The baba ghanoush comes with crackers that are a treat in itself - organic and vegan, and heavenly delicious. On top of all of that, the shaded breezy outside sitting area with its flower fountain right on Main street makes a sunny day just perfect. Had late lunch here yesterday after exploring telluride. They were a cute food truck with friendly staff and amazing smells of yum mines coming from the cooking. We both had the chicken shawarma sandwich which came with a light salad. Delicious, fresh, and flavorful. They were continuously busy which is always a good sign. We had a great spot seated near the entrance but they had plenty of tables and bench seating. I would definitely recommend if you want a little something off the norm. Even the dips that came with the chicken were so tasty. I think it was a tahini sauce and a tzaziki - so flavorful. Lots of kalamata olives on the salad.
