I went to Zimbrick Honda on Grand Canyon Drive in Madison Wisconsin and was very pleased by the help and friendliness I received there. I came in with six questions and Mike Cleary (Service Consultant) answered all my different questions. Mike was very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable, showing me how to check and reset things on my dashboard controls. My interaction with Mike Cleary made me more open to getting my car serviced at Zimbrick Honda. I drove away with the feeling "they'll take care of me"---Ben D.

They made him think the car was unsafe to drive, so he did not have a vehicle to drive for two weeks, only to find out there was nothing wrong with his car. This is a review posted for my brother's experience specifically at the Zimbrick Honda dealership's service center on Grand Canyon Drive. AVOID THIS SERVICE CENTER AT ALL COSTS!! They are dishonest about what work your car needs, and they will try to rip you off completely. My brother was told by the Zimbrick sevice center that his car was leaking transmission fluid from the axle seals. They also mentioned that his air intake hose was about to tear, and it needed to be replaced immediately. Both of these were strange findings as his car is not that old and has relatively low mileage. So, he took the car to Goodyear (on 608 Washington Ave.) to get another quote and a second look. Zimbrick quoted him for $840 for the transmission fluid issues, while the folks at Goodyear quoted him for literally HALF the cost. However, they also said they couldn't find a leak. Apparently, his car's seals were totally fine. As for the air intake hose, Goodyear found that it's only slightly worn from weather and time, but it still looked fine. The mechanic at Goodyear said they wouldn't recommend my brother to go out of his way to replace it until a light comes on for it on the dashboard of the car Overcharging is standard for dealerships, so that's to be expected, but it is totally unacceptable to tell customers that urgent service must be completed when there are zero problems. Zimbrick inconvenienced my brother for two weeks because he couldn't drive his car during that time, and it turns out it was all a lie! BONUS ADVICE: Seriously, go to the Goodyear on 608 Washington Ave. when you need stuff done for your car. They're so honest and they're such standup people there. They went one step further after checking over my brother's car to say that they weren't comfortable charging him with anything because no services needed to be done. They didn't even charge my brother for the part they ordered because they will just send it back for him at no cost. How amazing is that, right?!

I have a long history with Don Miller Dodge (or, back in MY day, "Pontiac"). We bought our first…read more"new" car there - a Pontiac Grand Prix GTP when they were red hot items. We had to "do the dance" with sales, leveraging what we could for price and trade-in value. In the end, we got a deal that felt good for both sides. Oddly, a good 15+ years later, my salesman (who I hadn't seen since buying the car) recognized me at a trampoline park where we both took our kids to play. My point - he was good at his job! He knew his customers. I was amazed. Fast-forward to this year. My mom was ready to move on to a new car for herself. She and my Dad had bought many cars there over the years - seemingly coming out with a new vehicle every time they went in for an oil change... Over those years, they built a relationship with the staff there. With Dad gone and Mom ready to make the move, I went in with her to shop around. (Actually, her 3-year-old Cherokee was in for a dead battery) We test drove a Renegade and they found one with all the options for her. In no time, we had a deal. Again, we were able to work out a fair deal for trade-in and "out the door price". They were gracious enough to waive the battery replacement (several hundred dollars) as part of the trade in. When buying cars, you should *always* be educated on what you're looking to get, and what your trade-in is worth. The folks at Don Miller will work with you to get a fair deal. Sure, they'll sell you a car for sticker price (gah!) if that's what you want. If you want to work the numbers, they will do so within their powers. I appreciate their handling of my folks over the many years.

No rides BACK to the shop, but I had a ride anyway. The service was performed and the car was ready when I was done with work. The service included a multi-point inspection, which may feel like they're digging up work - but in my case it confirmed all was well. The pointed out a few small light bulbs that were out, which I was able to fix on my own (for a fraction of the cost). I rarely get service at dealerships - they are way more expensive than regular mechanic shops (which are more expensive than doing it myself!). In a pinch, they would do - but dealerships, for me, are primarily recall or warranty work.

I had one of the worst service experiences I've ever had at Toyota Express Service on Odana Road. I scheduled an 11:00 AM oil change for my 2022 Toyota Highlander Limited V6 AWD. When I arrived, the service advisor mentioned that Toyota recommends 10,000-mile oil change intervals. I explained that I prefer changing my oil every 5,000 miles to protect my engine and asked them to proceed. Later, I was told they had damaged a lug nut during the tire check and needed additional time to replace it. I understand that mistakes happen, but what should have been a quick express service turned into a three-hour ordeal. I waited until 2:00 PM, and during that time, I was repeatedly told the vehicle was "almost done." After finally leaving the dealership, I noticed the windshield service sticker stated that 0W-16 oil had been installed. My Highlander's V6 engine strictly requires 0W-20. Running oil that is too thin can cause catastrophic engine damage, so I immediately returned and asked to speak with the service manager. I wasn't demanding anything unreasonable. To protect my vehicle, I simply requested either: - A complete oil and filter flush to guarantee the correct oil was installed, or - A refund for the service. Instead of addressing my legitimate mechanical concern professionally, the service manager became defensive. He accused me of attempting to scam them for free service, even though I had already paid in full. He stated he chose to believe their printed paperwork (which said 0W-20) and said the best he would do was just print me a new sticker. I told him that both the paperwork and the sticker were generated by them, and while he may choose to believe the paper, I have to trust the sticker placed on my car. Realizing I wasn't getting anywhere, I asked to speak to his manager. Instead of de-escalating the situation, the senior manager was even worse and flat-out refused both a refund or a replacement. He then offered to show me a video recording to "prove" they used the right oil. To review the camera recording, the senior manager asked for my receipt. I told him I had the receipt but did not want to hand it over. I held it in my hand and offered to read him the exact numbers he needed to pull up the record. He became increasingly hostile and told me to "just get out of here if you do not have the receipt." When I reiterated that I had it right in my hand, he suddenly changed his tune, sat down, and stated he didn't need my receipt after all. The entire interaction completely lacked the professionalism and respect anyone should expect from senior management. He eventually showed me surveillance footage and a picture of an oil pump, but it was not clear enough for me to independently verify that it was the exact pump used on my vehicle. Throughout the entire conversation, I was talked down to rather than helped. I left the dealership without any satisfaction, and I now plan to go to a different shop to pay for another oil change just to be safe. I am an honest customer who scheduled an oil change ahead of time, waited three hours, and received my vehicle with a sticker stating the incorrect oil was used. A reasonable business would have simply replaced the oil to ensure the safety of the vehicle, but they chose to dismiss and overlook a paying customer instead. Take your vehicle somewhere else.
