This place is a rip off. I encourage any and every one to stay away from this Car Outlet. I bought a car from here 4 years ago. Not only did I pay 26,000 for a car that was marked 8,000, my car was totaled out and Chicago Car Outlet took more out of my settlement than was owed to them. When I called to see why they were taking more then I owed, I was hung up on. I called back multiple times to speak to a manager and was unsuccessful. I was told by two people that the vehicle I was looking for was on the lot. They would not give me the odometer reading or price over the phone. I showed up an hour after the Manager, Wilson, phoned and verified I was coming by. He was not there. Nor was the car. They post cars that are not available to get you to come in. After waiting for my appointment with Wilson I asked a few times if this was a scam to get me down there, the individual trying to get me to look at another SUV said yes. Since the people here insisted for me to write a yelp review ill happily do it now. I put a down payment of 2000 for a 2007 lexus with high miles. Then sat down and they read me the contract. They stated the car had an 100% inspection and they only sell cars that pass their text. The Lexus had an oil change, tune up, brakes. Two weeks later the car was not registering enough oil. So I made an appointment to have them check it out. Any car checks are $50. So I just went with someone else. They gave me a list of things the car needed and they made it clear the oil was topped off but never changed. The brakes were starting to screech and a tune up wasn't done as said in the contract. Fast forward the month I had the car I'm self employeed this is my second car in which I figured I'd use to lyft and mainly pass out business cards to get new clients. Unfortunatly as what happens with certain clients one bounced a check, I had my daughters sweet 16 and wasn't able to make my payment on time. I didnt think much of it. I knew I wouldnt take 30 days to catch up and my wallet gets stolen they freeze my account. I Had a few rides for lyft to get the 500 bonus and a few clients scheduled, so ran around replaced all my stuff and figured id knock out out and pay my high ass car note... 18 days later I walk out my house and they took the car. My truck was in the shop. I lost work for it and was told that if I wanted the car back id have to pay another 1175. I came up with the payment that weekend asked for the pick location of my car and scheduled the appointment... They wouldnt even let me know where I had to go til after my appointment time... days of ill send the info via email... Ended up unable to go. I live in the south side I had to take another day off to go pick up my car in Waukegan. I lost the left bonus, had to reschedule clients and was told that I had to reapply for financing on the car I had already been driving for a month. So I have to bother my lawyer, doctors professional busy clients to give me proof of income when they had already done that for me when I got the car initially. So what I have to tell my clients they repoed my car please give me another letter. No that not how I can present myself in my company. I'd rather take my 1175 and put it towards another car. Terrible place to buy a car. First of all they refuse to tell you the prices on the cars until you waste an hour in their offices filling out a credit app. When they finally did give me a price, it was double the retail price that is shown on Kelly's Blue Book price on their web site. I also looked at other car sites like NADA and Edmund's and all of them had the car I was interested in...retail value was around $5000. They were trying to charge me $10,500 for the car. This place has the worst service ever. The cars are not reliable days after I purchased my Buick Enclave the check engine light came on. I didn't think to much of it at the time. But when I went into the office to make my final down payment I spoke to Christian the manager at the time and he said it was because of the gas that I was using. I then took the car to my mechanic for a oil change and found that it was missing a motor mount. Funny thing the motor mount was one of the things not covered in that scam of a warranty that they provide you with to make you think you have more than you actually do. Their number one priority is to sell the car. Juan told so many lies like I'm selling you this car for $7000 but once they tack on the finance charges and fees it's $23000 (but worth $4500 on KBB). A freaking joke right. So now that the check engine light is on and not going off I take the car back to them only to find out that christian is no longer the manager and the new manager can't assist you with something that Christian was previously working with you on. I had my husband cousin push and insist on buying a car from here after I told her not to many times so she used him as a reference because Juan said you will get a car note payment off only to find out that you will only receive $100 if you have had your car more than 90 days. I want to repay this loan as fast as I received it this was one of the worst decisions of my life. This car lot scam on the people with low credit because they know that it's hard to get you finance with a great car lot.They also tell you that if you decide to purchase other insurance instead of their insurance it will lower your rate no it stayed the same they just cut the number of months.
