So I went to car land for a simple oil change and what happens???? They leave the bottom flap completely open. The simplest thing and they couldn't even do that right. So we went back and they fixed it but the next day his ABS break light goes on. Then they say his car has break issues all of a sudden. Then my boyfriend goes back again and they "fixed" the issue but only because I said I'd sew them because it's ridiculous how we came for simple oil change and now it's all messed up. So they had no cars to rent out to us so they gave us their "daughters" car to borrow which has a check engine light and it was ANOTHER CUSTOMERS CAR and the reason why I know that because I look in the glove department and it had a asian mans id and his papers of what they had to fix on his car !!!! He had to get a new battery. Few months later and no matter what we do now we have issues and it all starts with shitty car land. Our car is less than 80,000 miles we've maintained it well and ever since them issues keep happening. finally we found a place to fix the issues and they are 100000x better then car land. If I could give this place a zero, I would. About a week ago my fiancé and I took the car here for an oil change and tire rotation (he got a deal on groupon). The owner right away tells us it's going to be an hour until it's done. Well when we come back to get the car, the owners wife says that they didn't rotate the tires bc it didn't look like they needed it...excuse me, we paid for it, why not do it? So then the owner and mechanic come in and tell us they were rotated. At this point I'm thinking was it or wasn't it done?! Then we ask for the paper work stating what was done and the owner tells us they don't provide it...now we're like wtf type of business is this! To make a long story short, a couple of hours later I notice the car is leaking oil, the setting in the car is wrong, and to make matters worse, the mechanic thought it was ok to get in the car without putting seat protectors in. Ya, oil all over the driver seat and center console. And his dirty oily fingerprints were on the glove compartment, ignition and door handle. Because of this garbage place, we had to take our car to Honda and have them flush the oil and do a new oil change, rotate the tires, and do a complete check on the car. The mechanic at Honda said that the filter they put in was faulty and was causing it to leak...NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE UNLESS YOU PLAN ON BEING DISSATISFIED WITH THE SERVICE! Terrible service, terrible people. Like many of us here, I was sucked into coming to this place because of their groupon deal which turns out to be not a deal at all. You can get the autocare package in store for $95 when they listed it on groupon for $99 - how is that a deal? Joe, the owner, may appear nice at first but he's actually rude, sarcastic and a crook. He lies, gives you incorrect information and insults you in your face (for instance, one time he said "your brakes suck and your tires are f*^ked, you need to fix them" to me point blank - what type of owner says such things to their customers?). His work is shady - I ask for a detailed invoice and he gives me a handwritten one which is barely legible and has no information on the work that was done beside the price. I usually waited between 45 minutes to an hour for a scheduled oil change because they were so busy. I've had such a terrible experience with this place and would never go back there again. I highly suggest that you guys not go here because you will be mistreated. I wrote a complain to groupon and asked for my money back and groupon granted me that because of so many complaints to groupon associated with this place. Carland is what I like to call a gem in the Bay Area. You know those real genuine people, who are actually concerned and interested and being able to help with whatever problem you may be having? Joe and the the rest of the crew are those people. Being new to the Bay Area, and having a burned out clutch, I knew that it would be difficult to find a mechanic I could trust and that would do a great job. When I first meet joe he was amicable, friendly, and honest. He quickly gave my car a diagnosis on what was going on, and started working on it right away. He gave me he best possible price of all the other shops I had spoken with. He in fact went above and beyond and even changed my slave cylinders free of charge! In the end, I ended up with a clean, working car, but even greater, a trusted friend. Would recommend 10/10 God bless these people! read more

Lovely lovely bunch of guys that work here. They have always helped me and other family members out whenever I had to get the cars worked on. I recently took my bmw m5 here as a last hope to get the transmission repaired. I had an estimate from two different shops m, one quoting 17k and another 11k. Not only did these guys save me money, they went above and beyond to not only pick up the parts to accelerate delivery, but they went ahead and fixed a bunch of parts for free without my knowledge at the time. My car is back up and running and it's not an easy car to work on by any means! One thing that stood out with me is that the shop owner said it more than once that he likes to treat his customers like family and their cars as if they were his own personal vehicle. That speaks volume to his character and to the people he works with. I will for sure be back if anything comes up in the future. If you are getting quoted astronomical prices for repairs on your vehicle and would like a second opinion take your car here and give them a chance to save you money. I brought my car in here for some long neglected repairs. The timing belt was over due and it was leaking oil every place I parked the car. After calling around they were by far the best price, often by a couple of hundred dollars. They did the work well and while they were doing the main job they found some small problems in other parts of the engine that they fixed at no charge. These small fixes made the car run a lot better! I'm happy with their work and they defiantly don't try to nickle and dime you. read more

I read the other bad reviews about this place and went on and ignored it because the deal was too good to be true. Well I bought it, not knowing that the owner of this place could not offer me the service I wanted. He stated that something else was wrong with my car and estimated something really pricey. I denied and he went on trying to negotiate a price persuading me to say yes. AVOID AT ALL COST!!! Please!! For own good! I'd give ZERO STAR if I could to describe the horrible experience I've had with this devious auto shop. I've spent two grands to fix my vibrating steering wheel and in the end the problem still exists. Joe the owner of this place is a lying son of a bitch who will sweet talk you and give you discounts on this and that to fool you into paying him more money. And this rat likes it when you pay him cash - he'll give you discounts in your favor so he can commit tax fraud. About my specific situation, Joe suggested that I replace the struts and then the toe rear end and other stuffs and I listened to him and let him do the work. One day I talked to his mechanic Jason and found out that the vibration in the steering wheel had something to do with the steering column itself and not with the suspension. I felt so cheated and swore to never go to this shady place again. This place is shady in so many regards and in retrospect I don't know how I kept coming back to get help from him hoping that he would fix the problem and thinking that he was a genuine and honest man. He never writes a report or give you a detailed invoice describing what's been done as part of your service - how the hell do customers know if what he said was done was actually done? He lies left and right and makes me wait so many times. Like this one time he told me to come by and drop my car off for some work at 8am. I showed up on time and the shop didn't open until half an hour later. The other time he made me come back another time because he was too busy when I already made an appointment. Wtf was that? I kept up with this motherfucker hoping that my car would be fixed one day and finally I just had enough of his lies and bullshit and just walked away without the problem ever being resolved after spending thousands of dollars and countless of hours off work. Their oil changes are super cheap and fast but you have to make an apt and they usually try and book me as early as possible and don't seem to wonder what my schedules like. Every time I go the owner always tries to convince me that other things need done on my car-like a tune up when my boyfriend literally just did a tune up, or how there's supposedly a "crack" on my radiator that I can't seem to see no matter how close I look at exactly the spot he pointed out to me. It looks like a seem or like the radiator is just made like that. The owner even insisted on cleaning my headlights for some reason. I feel like he could tell he was loosing me as a customer as I always question what he says and I always tell him "that's too expensive" and "my boyfriend can just do it" so he was trying to lure me back in by cleaning my lights for some reason. The yelp reviews I have read so far have been pretty accurate in terms of waiting for a VERY long time to get an appointment. I have had my wheel alignment at Car Land 8 months ago. I was brought to that shop by Groupon. I needed to have my tires rotated today. Unfortunately, the mechanic did not rotate my tires and I have to get a new front tires. The ones that I just got recently have worn out already. The mechanic added that the wheels have worn out easily becuase of the alignment. Now, I have to get a new set of tires and I have to have my wheels aligned again. I had an oil change here today after calling repeatedly to try to make an appointment because they were completely booked with a previously bought Groupon. I understand I was using a coupon but in my eyes it is an opportunity to try out a new place and maybe even one I could use continuously in the future. However, I feel they had a different idea. They were very short with me and didn't make me feel welcomed at all. Their mechanic seemed very nice, but there seemed to be a lack in communication because they had not talked to each other and had no idea if my paperwork had or hadn't been completed to which I ended up finding out I wasn't entitled to any form of a receipt because I had used a Groupon. Zero stars, if I could :-). My wife brought her car to Carland to repair damage to the left fender. She chose this business because the proprietor spoke Farsi and she thought she could trust him. She paid him $2800 in advance. The work was supposed to take one week to complete. After approximately two months of repeated calls, run-arounds, and excuses, he finally finished the work. Instead of repairing the fender, as requested, he painted the whole car. This was probably done to hide a poor color match with the factory paint. The quality of the work was substandard and amateurish. There was overspray on the trim, plastic, glass, and rubber, the gas filler hatch was painted shut, there were many scratches that they caused that were not repaired or buffed out, there were bubbles and orange peel everywhere. Prior to her accident, the car was in 'as-new' condition. As a result of Carland's incompetent repair, the vehicle is worth substantially less than previously. We contacted the owner several times to try and resolve this dispute. At first he agreed to correct the problem; he took the car back once, and once again failed to correct the defect, again keeping us without our car for months, with no apparent difference in the poor quality of the paint. Again we met with him to show him the defects. He refused to refund our money, but instead tried to defend his poor work by saying things like, "What did you want for $2800?" It was immediately clear he was incapable of, and had no intention of, fixing our car, but was more interested in provoking a fight as a justification for not resolving the matter. I got the distinct impression that he was trying to exhaust us into giving up and going away. He has certainly earned his unprecedented 39 one-star ratings. Stay away! read more

I called today to schedule an oil change, the second of the three that my Groupon included. The woman who answered told me that the next available appointment is on the 30th... and today is the 12th. Seriously?? It's an oil change. I can get one at any one of a gazillion local shops by driving in later today. It's a shame, too: when we took our car there for the first oil change, the guy who owns the place was very accommodating, had us in-and-out quickly, and generally did a good job on the car. But given that I would never take my car back to Car Land (except to avoid swallowing the cost of the remaining two oil changes, which I'm actually rather inclined to do), I can't recommend this shop to my fellow Yelpers. read more

Hi. I bought a Groupon for 3 oil changes. Hella cheap!!! I call to make an appointment and both of my cars get appointments 2 weeks later....( I am writing this because I see some TERRIBLE reviews on here and I want to set the record straight)....We even get a reminder call to confirm our appointment a day or two ahead of time...For $13.00 an oil change (groupon was $39 for 3 w/ tire rotation)- how can you ask for better customer service. I spoke w/ the owner (female) both times...Very VERY pleasant and business like. Happy so far...... I get to the place and park my car; hand over my Groupon (I was told to bring a paper form of the Groupon in when I came in for appointment- no big deal; their rules; I can deal w/ that for such a GREAT deal)-and within 3 minutes the male owner Joe? (i didn't catch their names unfortunately) gets my keys and takes my car in and the mechanic immediately starts working on the car. I PLEASANTLY had conversation w/ the Owners wife until the car was finished, promptly. Wow; great service and such friendly people. I don't understand why other's are complaining about anything. I had nothing wrong w/ my car or I'm certain I would have been told; I got my receipt, which is my Groupon so I can use it the next 2 times, and my service report/receipt to put into the car, an updated oil sticker w/ the new date for mileage and SMILES the entire time. Big deal if you have to wait a week or two for an appointment; is that really anything to complain about? If so; without a groupon, sure, go to a different place and PAY double to triple for the same service, maybe without the nice family-friendly atmosphere.... I found Tire Land Campbell 2.5 years ago when my 2 SUVs needed tire replacement. I have to comment the prices were fair, as I had done substantial reserach before I picked Tire Land. I became Joe (owner)'s loyal customer since. Tire Land became Car Land - I witnessed their costomer base boomed so quickly. It is no longer easy to get an appointment with 3 day notice. I bought the groupon, called during Christmas break and they were closed for the whole two weeks, I mean, I guess people's cars don't need work during that time, right? Anyways I finally reached them during business hours, the guy on the phone was very short with me and unfriendly, and said that they only had appointments several weeks out. I said that is unacceptable as the groupon states appointments needed 24 hours in advance but nothing about being so booked up. I said also that jiffy lube type places you can walk in that day and get an oil change, he said "go ahead and pay 45$ at jiffy lube then. You can get a refund of your groupon." So, that's what I did. Jason was really wonderful at Car land. He knows the stuff, extremely helpful, explained me with patience about the issue. Details: I have an Americas best car care coupon for free oil change. Took an appointment. They give the apt after one week (understandable, as they do 8 oil changes for $80 or so). Oil change was as usual. Now, I also had a check engine light on. I asked him to check it out. Turns out it is in the most difficult location to reach out (code P1135 - Bank 1 sensor 1 air fuel ratio sensor failure). He showed me the location, explained the issue and difficulty level. Also talked about how to get the total cost of addressing this down (which is kinda rare now a days). Where to get the parts, etc. No pressure to fix from him. I came back to look up for more information. Will surely go back there to address my check engine light. Car Land is a car owner's dream! I have been coming here for several years with a 2000 Acura TL and gotten everything from oil changes to tires to timing belts. Service has always been exceptional and the work was done timely and at a great price. They will work even on their "day off" in order to get you back on the road. I've also communicated via text message after hours with car questions and always gotten a response. Most recently, at 250,000 miles, my car started overheating. I was given a loaner car while the problem was fixed overnight. 8 months later, the problem started up again. Again, Joe immediately took care of it for a minor fee. Unfortunately, a couple weeks later, the problem came back and Joe insisted I "do not wait and make an appointment, bring it in NOW so you do not do damage to the engine!". He fixed it with no charge, that day and I was able to drive off in my car which now has 260,000 miles on it. And I thought the car was caput 30,000 miles ago but Joe was able to bring her back to good health with only a few, inexpensive repairs over the past few years. I'm not sure what the problem is with waiting a few weeks for an oil change.... it's a car, you know when you need the routine services performed... plan ahead. And appreciate the fact that when there is an emergency, Joe will work overtime to get you taken care of! And, if you need to hang out for a bit, there is a tv and also Wi-Fi so you could spend a full day here pretty much as comfortable as you would be at your own house, even though they will offer you a ride anywhere local! I've even used their microwave to reheat my lunch:) I will be a customer for life here! read more

I had work done on a 2004 mustang Mach 1 and since I have no issues as of now I just get my oil changes done in less than 20 min every time I need it for a good price! First of all, I am a real customer brought to Car Land by groupon. I have Car Land do oil changes for our family cars. Our Acura MDX SUV had this noise for months. Long story short, after diagnostic tests, Joe recommended suspension strut and wheel bearing replacement. The quote was $933, after careful thinking, he reduced the quote to $750. Today, when I picked up the car, the final bill was $337. He told me that he decided to keep the wheel bearing, after careful checking. That saved me over $400. Thanks, Joe! The noise is still there. I was told the noise should gradually go away after the suspension strut is fixed, and when the tires are smoothed out. I am very happy and would like to highly recommend Car Land to others. Joe is experienced, skillful, and has good working ethics. I plan to bring my other family car to Car Land for maintenance. BTW, I brought the MDX SUV to another shop to diagnose the noise in May 2015. I was told there was nothing to be fixed. I was charged $64 for diagnostic tests without fixing anything. Obviously, not fixing the issue makes the repair more costly. I am giving 4 stars because the scheduling is an issue. I had to wait for 2-3 weeks after calling in to make an appointment for oil change. And I don't get tire rotation if I forget to mention I need it. Isn't tire rotation included in oil change services? Also, I don't like their tight parking space. You have to pick up the car if you are busy. Picking up the car the next day is not an option. If the noise on my car finally goes away, I will change this review to 5 stars, no matter what! read more

RUDE LADY ON THE PHONE, Tried to make an appointment for a groupon coupon i got, their business hour is morning to 6PM, yet she refuses to take my 4:15PM appointment (best I could do with all the traffic after work) because that's the time the mechanic leaves (her quote). We went on for a few minutes looking for an available time in the next FOUR weeks because they're overbooked. I asked if I could do a weekend appointment on the FIFTH week and she told me the system won't let her. She then told me to think about the time i wanted and call her back in 10 minutes. WTH if there is no window to make me an appointment, why would there be within the next 10 minutes of thinking?! I'm not leaving work just for this. It defeats the purpose of buying groupon and saving money. I was very polite and respectful, yet she sounded VERY rude and TREATED me like an annoyance. This place was awesome! I took in my husbands car and was taken care of right away. Nice customer service, very polite! I waited around till the car was done (which did not take a awful long time) meanwhile, I was speaking to Diana whom is VERY nice and pleasant to speak with and even gave me some great hair tips ( her hair was awesome ) This place even checked the car out to assure there was nothing wrong with it. Now, most car places will tell you a million things wrong with the cvar to sell you what you may not even need. Not this place. If they really dont find anything wrong they let you know your car is running fine. Awesome place! I am waiting for my car to need the oil change and I will be right back at this place!!! read more
