My Groupon entitled me to 3 oil changes, a tire rotation, and a 50 point inspection. When I came in to pick up my car, the owner redeemed my voucher and told me my keys were in my car. I asked if he had rotated my tires and performed a 50 point inspection and he responded with "we close at 5:00pm, we have lives." I recognize that is an extreme response to such a simple question, but if you look at the texts from him in this photo, he is an extreme individual. I explained to him that I wanted to get what I paid for, so he proceeded to go into the back and fill out a 30 point inspection paper and handed it over to me and asked me to leave. When I asked why it was a 30 point inspection when the Groupon says 50-point inspection, he said it's a "45 - point inspection." He then told me not to give him attitude when I simply inquired about the service that was given. I asked him if he had placed air in my tires because one of mine was low and he said he did not and that it was not covered in his 50-point inspection. He then began to get irate and call me a loser and a thief. I did not get what I paid for and I asked for a refund and he said he had already redeemed the voucher so I could not get a refund. He has since sent me harassing text messages (posted) and threatened to post pictures of me online as a loser and has called my car a "piece of junk." While that may be true, it is not something you should say to a customer. I have the entire altercation recorded on video. Avoid this place like the plague.

I recently made a visit to Car Land to get my oil changed. It was very difficult to get a an apointment with my Groupon. The earliest appointment was 3 weeks out. I finally to into the shop and it took within an hour for the oil change and tire rotation. As I pulled up into the lot the space was very tight. I later found out they parked a SUV right in front of the shop blocking most of the driveway. It appeared to be their car as later the staff from the front desk got in and drove off. It would be nicer for the customers if they didn't block the space to drive up to their shop. The mechanic said I had a few problems on my car and another guy, possibly the owner gave me a verbal price quote to make some repairs. I will get a second opinion before I get any work done on my car. Overall scheduling with this shop is very difficult unless you are able to wait a few weeks to get an appointment. The staff is not very customer friendly. They did their job and changed my oil, but there might be some up selling here.

Broken camshaft wires got superglued together

Shady business. I took my Lexus in for diagnostic. Day after I dropped the car off, Yobert broke the wires to camshaft sensors and tried to sell me a major service and said he would replace the sensors as well. Car would run great for 2 years after his service. Unfortunately, he was supposely be a friend of a friend. I didn't question which sensors he was replacing. Then he proceeded to hide the broken wires to the cam sensors by super glued them together. And told me it was safe to drive and let me drive home. He told me he would finish replacing the sensors later without telling me he broke them and superglued them together. Not knowing any of these, I paid him. The superglue was only good for one start of the car. Ever since, the car won't start. Yobert finds excuses left and right for months to not come to fix the issue and finish the job render me having no transportation. He did nothing to tell the truth but pointed finger at the battery, starter, ECU, then the car itself and the owner. Not a word of truth. The fact is he didn't just break the sensors connection, which caused the ECU shutdown, and the car won't start, I witnessed his roughness with the car slamming the hood without putting back the enginecover and later I found the cover broke off. The pictures and computer logs speak a thousand words. All the information is from reputable sources documented to prove what he did. He took the money, broke the car, hid about what he did, and sent the customer driving with a life-threatening hack job. Till today, he refused to send the receipt to describe what he did. Continues to use words completely devoid of responsibility . Yet he took the money. He has shown no sign of legitimacy nor responsibility. No one would want to experience what I have experienced. I had to tow my car to the dealer to have it diagnosed, and they provided me all the evidence for me. My car was driving well, and starting well, the ECU was functioning well before I took it to Yobert. That's verifiable from multiple sources. Bearau of Auto Repair also ruled in my favor and told me he has failed to provide any receipts for the past 3 years. Further, he defame his client to deviate from his fraudulent practice.

I'm really impressed with Car Land. The owner really goes above and beyond to give the best service and best price. He is very communicative, truthful, and gave me smart options. He really cares about his customers. My car is repaired and working great. He fixed a suspension issue but also was able to get my windshield repaired. I would have paid 2 or 3 times more at the dealership to do the same repair. He also fixed my dented bumper for free. He has the best prices and he is an expert at Mercedes and German auto repair, but I'm sure he can fix American cars too. I'm now a loyal fan of Car Land.

The AAA towing guy said it was my alternator. I didn't want to drive back over the hill with a bad alternator so I started calling auto shops around where I was that were actually open on a Saturday. I called and spoke with Gary. He got my information and was able to find an alternator for my Hummer H2 (OEM at that) and said to bring it in and I could be up and running in two hours. I dropped off my car and went to the pizza place next door to eat lunch and wait. A little while later I got a call from Gary and he said that the issue wasn't my alternator at all. It was my string of lights zip tied under my car connected to my battery. The light strip had come down and was dragging on the ground and essentially shorting out my battery. Once he disconnected it from my battery everything started working again. The level of detail they went into to find the true issue vs just putting in an alternator was very impressive and just shows true integrity and customer service. I wish I lived near by them cuz I would definitely make them my primary mechanic. For anyone looking to bring your car in for work, just know you are in good hands. I highly recommend them.

Another update:…read more Again, as I continue to work on different areas of my car, I find parts that Los Gatos Tire & Auto completely screwed up and cost me more money in the future to fix. Time traveling back almost 2 years ago, I drove my car out of the parking lot at this mechanic shortly after getting work done, and there were lights on the dashboard indicating a fault in the stability control and ABS system. I returned the car to them and told the technician how those lights were not on the dash before they did their work. They promptly claimed to have replaced some cables, and returned the car to me with no codes. For the almost 2 years following, these same lights would appear on my dash sporadically, as well as whenever it would rain. I tried diagnosing it many times, and other mechanics told me it was likely just a worn sensor, so I put off the repair to prioritize more important things. As it turns out, upon closer inspection recently, Los Gatos Tire & Auto actually installed a bolt with completely incorrect threads to hold a wheel speed sensor in place, that was not on my car prior to their work. Again, I had never had an issue before they did this, and my wheel speed sensors were all installed correctly from the factory. They literally cross-threaded the hole for the wheel speed sensor bolt, which is part of my steering knuckle and cannot be replaced without buying an entire new knuckle, which with parts and labor would be over $1000. I tried correcting the threads, but they were already completely torn up. While Los Gatos Tire & Auto was at it, they did not even tighten down the sensor as they cross threaded it, allowing water to get in which caused the warning lights, and which also rusted the sensor over time.

We had to take our Prius in for a smog check (why though, it's a Prius!) and I called in to to make an appointment, which was easy to do. When we arrived, they told us where to position our car, asked for the DMV paperwork, and quickly went about performing the smog check. They performed it quickly, did it for a transparent fixed price (some places charge more for certain cars, including Prius's, which seems strange), and got us on our away quickly. The price was reasonable too - about $60 all in. They pointed us to some chairs where we could sit and wait while they did the test - nothing fancy, but it's good to have an option to sit. For whatever reason, smog checks are something I kind of dread, even though it's always painless. Having a local place that can do this quickly and efficiently for a reasonable price is always worth calling out.

This place had a different name before the pandemic (maybe longer ago). I went there one time when…read moreit had that name that included the word "Toyota" in it. I brought my car there for some kind of service, I don't remember what. I didn't go back there because of the prices. Years later, I found a mechanic that I like, but that mechanic is 7 miles from me, so I had been going to different places for oil changes and going to the mechanic for repairs. Long story short, my oil change light came on and I wasn't able to go to my regular oil change place due to an unscheduled closure. I pulled over and looked at reviews. This shop's sister shop had a five-star review and was pretty close to where I was. They had no available appointments, but the manager directed me to this one, which I was able to get an appointment the next day. The clerk told me the oil change also included an inspection. About an hour later, I get a text wanting approval for another $2,200. I knew that my mechanic would charge just over half for the brakes alone, so I declined the other services. That's where it got crazy. I pick my car, and the check engine light and two other lights were on. They hadn't been on when I dropped off the car. When I called it in, the mechanic (or clerk, I'm not sure which) kept repeating "You declined additional services." Now, I'm old enough and competent enough to have changed my oil and even replaced the spark plugs and cables on cars back in the day, so I knew there was absolutely no reason at all that an oil change would cause the check engine light to go on. Essentially, they introduced a problem that didn't exist when I brought it in. So, I called my mechanic and asked whether there might be a reason for the light to have been triggered. He said that it could be triggered if the hoses are not reconnected when they inspect the air filters. That, in fact, was the problem. This leaves me with two possible outcomes, neither of which is good: either they deliberately left the hoses disconnected so that I'd panic and buy the other services or they were careless. I made an appointment with my mechanic, who looked over Stress Free's estimate and then inspected my car. His initial comment was "These guys are expensive as hell," and pointed out one place where Stress Free was going to charge me for labour for a service that would have been part of another of the services. Long story short, I'm having the repair done by my mechanic for less than $1,000.
