At that point, he recommended a new fuel pump, which they ordered that day. They installed the new fuel Pump and also found one of the spark plug wires was bad and grounding out as well. They replaced ALL of my plug wires as a courtesy! Not gonna lie, I was Leary about purchasing a vehicle here at first, but we are thoroughly pleased with the OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE from their service center!!! Scotty was a few years older as with Dan, apparently they both framed me in wasting the liquor. But I didn't drink any. My dad gave Arron a twenty. Jims automotive installed a timing belt on my car . When it was done I picked it up and brought it…read morehome I was happy to have it done I opened my hood to hear it run and look at it and I noticed 4 bolts sitting in the spots they go into on the spark plug cover . The bolts were not even hand tight . I was baffled and I thought ok I'll tighten those down and never go back to Jim's automotive in forest grove . Well I had that timing belt done April 22 this year 2024 . So driving home July 18 so less than 3 months later and I hear the worst sound coming from my engine . I wasn't going to have it towed to Jim's no way so I took it to a Japanese car specialist . He opened it up and the timing belt was shredded. They found a bolt that had come loose from the install that Jim's did . So I called the owner Jim and asked him if he would pay the other shop to fix what they did wrong and he said no . He did offer to fix the work but I told him no way will I ever bring my car back to them . When I spoke to him, he told me that sometimes when you take your car to another shop, they noticed things that the previous shop might not have picked up because of an extra set of eyes. I think this is total BS I should be able to depend on the shop that I take my car to in the first place, I expect my car to be fixed the first time if not the first time then maybe the second time but there's no way I would bring it back to them a third time. This is my experience with jims automotive and Forest Grove. I am going to be out a lot of money out of pocket because they did the job incorrectly. The first time the install they did did a lot of damage to my engine and now I am out of pocket just be aware of jims automotive if you have had good luck with them then that's great but this is my experience with them. They will not pay for another shop to fix it correctly and they will only fix it on their dime. If I bring it to them, I will never bring any of my vehicles to them. Unfortunately, this was a very bad experience. I don't know what I will do from here as far as trying to recoup my money back I have talked to a couple attorneys and we will see where it goes but be aware of jims automotive unless you want to take it back to them multiple times to make it right in my eyes you shouldn't have to take a car back to have it repaired multiple times because they didn't do the job right the first time I am going to upload some pictures and you can see the damage that has been done. I probably have bent valves. I'm probably gonna need some head work. It's probably gonna cost me around $4000, and this was all done because of preventative maintenance. I didn't even need to have my timing belt done at that time. The only reason I did it is because I had the money and I had about 15,000 miles before it was due. My car ran completely fine before I dropped it off to them the first time.

My 1995 Ford Bronco…read morewas experiencing severe loss of power with codes related to the fuel delivery and vacuum systems. Resistance and continuity were good throughout the fuel pump circuits. I replaced the vacuum lines and ran a positive test on the EGR valve, but my problems persisted. Another shop in the area recommended The Car Doctor given the age and symptoms of my rig. They started with a fuel injection service, resetting fuel trims and ignition timing. My truck rolled out of their shop running much better, but I was disappointed to find that my hood latch lever was bent out of shape. I will admit that the assembly had its quirks, but the mangled lever was unreasonable. Rob immediately responded with an apology and a gift card, on top of offering to repair the damage. I had already replaced the assembly since it was a simple fix, but the gesture was above and beyond what I expected. I could tell that Rob took it personally, and I was impressed by his genuine care for customers. Fast forward a week, no start. So I dragged my lazy horse back to the shop and they confirmed no spark. On top of that, the code reader was no longer communicating with the computers, which made us suspicious of the PCM. They traced out faulty wiring along the ignition system to fix the no-start condition. Yet the truck still stumbled over intermittent power loss and fuel delivery. Welp, time to take a pulse on the entire system with a breakout box. Taking care to eliminate the possibility of any ground, sensor, or other component issue, they zeroed in on the PCM. Rob not only gave me confidence in finding the culprit, but he found the cause in a slow leak from the windshield seal (I had recently gotten it replaced at another shop). I am grateful for his attention to detail as it has prevented a very expensive problem from re-occurring. Rob was a pleasure to meet - easy going and passionate about his work. He took care to thoroughly investigate my truck's condition instead of slapping on band-aids to mask symptoms. Diagnostics were honest and prices were fair. His team did great work on a complex job, and they took accountability for the minor issue I had with the hood latch. Two more things that stood out to me about this experience: when they diagnose your vehicle, they send a link to a comprehensive overview of what they see. This includes pictures and descriptions that are detailed but simplified for the casual driver/mechanic. And a big shout out to Sam, their receptionist! She was very friendly and professional through many stressful phone calls. Sam, Rob and Team, thank you for a great experience and for taming my moody Bronco! I will be back when the wrenching gets tough, and plan to bring any future vehicles to The Car Doctor shop for a trusted assessment.

Took my Jeep into them, they actually did what they said they were going to do for the price they…read moresaid they were going to do it for. It didn't fix all the problems because I had to take it in and I gave them the code data I got from my scan tool. They found the problem in the engine using a borescope and the front desk lady told me I should get it checked out at fuel monkey who works on engines all the time. I did and the Jeep is on the way to working right. They cost a bit but their mechanics are alright, everything they said made after the years I have been working on cars myself. No scams and they give you paperwork to show you just what they are doing. Maybe one caveat they wanted 400 for a new car battery, I laughed and said no I can put a new battery on myself. They charged up my old battery anyways which was a nice touch. Kind of a small shop but they let me park my jeep there while I got a hold of fuel monkey to fix the engine. Good people or at least I think so.
