To all that read this. Please read before buying cars her. Had are car for two years with a warranty. Short story would be. The car they will sell you is from an auction. Big dealers send car there that have to many people problems. And places like car city buy them. Needless to say you will be sold a lemon. will have to repair at least once a month and you will have to come back with making your payment on top of your insurance on top of making all mechanical repairs. They will not help you with this. They will give you the runaround they will not give you a loaner car and continue to tell you they have no loaner cars. They will only provide help by tacking on maintenance onto the sales sticker of the vehicle even there warranty has holes in it where they won't cover certain things that help save them more money. You are the guinea pig. Don't come here. I will be making it unfortunate decision and I'm going to be letting my car go because there are so many issues with this car that I've been sold and I have been on the phone with them many times, including the bank and neither party wants to do anything I will be pursuing legal action against this company because what they are doing is gross and sickening, I am a man of God and papa has told me to take care of these people and best way I can. read more

I had my car for 5 days. It stop right in the middle of the road. Now I am getting the run around for a loner. Still don't have my car from the the repair shop. 2 hundred for tow fees. All I got is a lemon. read more

Today was my second time getting a car from Car City. Megan and Josh helped with everything and were great. I did not feel rushed or pushed into anything. I know that I'm overpaying for the car but I was in complete bind due to my previous car having rusted fuel and brake lines, it'd cost more to fix than the car is worth. My daughter said that she will probably go back to Car City when she is ready to purchase a new car. read more

why would I refer car City to anyone? I wouldn't! started a lease on a 2015 Chevy Cruze Jan 29,2022 the car gave me problems as soon as I signed the lease and drove off the lot. I purchased the extended warranty. the car has been in the auto shop for over a month  (6 weeks) not to mention having had to get several prior repairs before this because it needs a new engine. their mechanics messed up a few things and let it be driven off the lot without having it properly ready to be sold. which caused problems unforeseen by me.Car City has promised me a replacement that I have yet to receive. I lost my job because I couldn't commute to it. I recently started a new job as a server and don't make the same amount every week that I used to. being left in limbo waiting on Car City to get there shit together is ridiculous. Google maps already has a bad review from me that I will be updating until things get resolved. it will remain there and other social media sites. so no I wouldn't for the life of me recommend car City to my family or friends or the customers I serve or the random people I meet. I'm greatly disappointed with the automobile I'm paying for and cannot drive. I'm disappointed at the fact that I'm not being provided a replacement vehicle from a car lot. I'm disappointed because I no longer have the freedom I had from owning a vehicle. I'm upset that my financial situation has been negatively altered by the act of simply purchasing a car from Car City.come on car City you can do better!!! read more

I went in to ask if I can get a car for my wife because I have a suspended license and she works part time so she can drive me to and from work they ran my credit approved me and as soon as I showed up they said I can't even pay for her car and because she has very little income won't approve her. The sales associate was rude and didn't even get up to welcome me and basically brushed me off and when I walked away was whispering something and all 3 laughed. As I walked out the door I got a text asking to set up a appointment and 10 minutes later got another text saying same thing pretty un professional all I want to do is provide safe transportation for my family that's reliable what a joke. read more

Do not buy a car from Car City! I would give them zero stars if I could. I was thrilled they'd give me a loan. But it was for twice more than the car was worth at 27 percent interest. They are no good #$-&6#-&. If you know what I mean. Especially don't trust Mitchell in Alma! Dirty dude! read more

If I could give less than one start I would this place is a piece of shit. They sell you broken ass cars, for 3 times the price of its actual worth. The precision claims is trash as well. Specifically one of there employees named Hannah who told me over the phone that my car would be completely fixed for free. And then the mechanic called me and tells me that they lied. So i call up and ask to speak with the manager Matt and and he proceeds to tell me he doesn't understand why she would give me miss information. And I asked for a discount. And he explains my warranty coverage and I'm like OK so the fact that your employee told me the wrong information isn't doesn't mean anything to you. Trash ass company DO NOT RECOMMEND FOR ANYBODY!!! read more

I've been with car city for years and years. I always knew I was overpaying by thousands but I have crap credit so I dealt with it. They treated me so great. Got in an accident with a car purchased through car city. Our insurance covered five days with a rental. We needed a car immediately. This time car city treated me COMPLETELY different. We drove to car city's locations all over Michigan finally settling on a Dodge Dart. First we noticed the front tire won't hold air. Then the blower for the heating and cooling system started smelling like burning plastic before it quickly died. Within 5 hours of taking possession of the car we found-'the window not working properly, blower dies,'tire won't hold air and then the check engine light comes on. Have sensor checked at local parts store and are told it's an issue with the steering column. Bring the car back to car city where an employee talks to me like I'm a complete idiot. Instead of helping me he directs me to call a warranty manager who is located in the building we are standing in. After discussion they agree to give us a loaner car while the dodge goes to be repaired but only if we do all the transportation at our own cost of gas and time. The guy repairing the vehicle completely blows me off when I tell him about the code we got on the engine light. We wait forever with zero communication from anyone on the status of the car. I finally leave a bitchy voicemail and get a return call after them "repairing" the car. Yet again we are required to do all the running around to pick up the car and drop off the loaner. Tire is flat when we arrive to pick it up. We drop off loaner car and think this nonsense is over. Nope. Two hours later my partner goes to bring our kid THREE blocks away and within minutes the check engine light is on. Turns out they said nothing was wrong and literally just shut the light off and fixed nothing. They put lube on our window and replaced the blower. Ignored the engine light. Meanwhile through no fault of car city we are in the middle of a massive family crisis and we keep expressing to car city that we need help because of what we have going on. I feel like all they care about is money. Talking down to us because we are women? Now we again have a car that is not safe to drive that they are charging us $400 a month for. A 2015 Dodge Dart for almost 12,000? I dont feel safe bringing it back to a mechanic who thought just turning the engine light off was enough. I put my kids in the car and I dont feel safe even having them in this car. Tire won't hold air and they want me to drive it all over town for them to get it half assed fixed? Sensor says it's an issue with the steering column and you encourage your customer to drive it knowing they have a family so you aren't financially inconvenienced? I'm disgusted, disappointed and horrified that anyone can do that. read more

I super disappointed with this company got a van from them 3 days into getting it the transmission went out. After that more problems have come to. I've had this car for 8 months and been in and out of shop. They told me I'm about to max out of my warranty and there's nothing they can do. I just got it out of shop and it's going back in shop. They tried to tell me I've put wear n tear on car because I'm driving it to much. I have to take my husband to work and kids to school. I pay my payments and get horrible service. Called them and Brenda the warranty manager told me to take it to a different car dealership and trade it in. Why would you tell your customer to go somewhere else. I've had nothing but issues with this car. Super sad to. This van is falling apart. Don't do business with this dealership you will regret it. Pretty sad you pay your payments on something you can't drive because it's constantly in the shop. read more

Stan the man got me the deal i needed. Anyone who goes there needs to talk to stanley. Theres nothing he cant do

I took my nephew to get a car. He wants to start building credit. They pre-approved him for a loan, so we drove from Holland for a scheduled appointment. Car City ran his credit app and told him he needed $2000 down for a used car. This shocked my conscious. My nephew has zero negative marks on his credit report. I could understand the steep down payment if he had negative marks on his report. Well now, he has a hard inquiry...thus, instead of helping him build his credit, Car City helped him achieve his first negative mark and he isn't even a customer. My conclusion is that Car City is among those businesses that exploit the poor and less fortunate. That's my 2 cents. read more

Hello, my name is Miquel Garcia I recently purchased a vehicle with car city on October 5th. I purchased a 2016 equinox. I was so happy and excited about getting a vehicle with car city. But little did I know that my worst nightmare was going to happenIng to me. I trusted car city with the vehicle that I purchased from them. So I got an oil change right away like everyone should when getting a new vehicle. I was sold a bad Vehicle with a bad engine. Tell me why my vehicle that I purchased in two weeks is low on oil when I just recently got an oil change two weeks ago from purchasing the vehicle. I've had to get 5 oil changes since I purchased the vehicle. I was sold a bad vehicle my car was never inspected before I made the purchase. My anxiety my mental health is not okay due to car city not being able to help me in any way. I have cancer and having surgery to remove my tumor in 3 months and honestly I don't think I'll make it through surgery because of all the stress Car city is putting me through. I Don't deserve this no one does. How can anyone sell a bad Vehicle to their customers and say it's in good condition when it's not? I have spoken with the warranty department but they aren't being helpful and have made it difficult for me. I still Don't have my vehicle fixed and haven't gotten any help from the city. The sad thing is that car city already has a bad reputation for selling Bad vehicles to customers. A mechanic that works with car city to fix their vehicles told me he had 9 vehicles from car city that he was fixing and working on from car city. And I was like are you kidding me? How can anyone do this to anyone? I work in health care I love helping people I have a heart for helping people that need care. How is it possible that you guys are doing this to your customers? I will never purchase a vehicle from car city and Don't recommend anyone. They have put me through hell. read more

This is place is the last place you want lease a car from! Yes lease you can not buy a car here even if you have cash. Be warned if you default on a car lease here they will sue you and make you pay what they think its worth forget blue book value. here is a true incident I leased a 2007 hhr with 80k miles its Bluebook value less than 2000 because of condition it had a rebuilt title something they didn't tell me and had multiple issues. I turned it in they took me to court and sued me saying I owed 6200 and they told court they sold it at action to them selves for 1200 dollars leaving a balance of 5000 dollars. they will screw you ! read more

I hate my car that is a year old a Chevy Cruze. It's always in the shop and the warranty they offer is useless unless it's a major repair. Things keep going wrong Bluetooth only work for phone calls not music. All the aux and usb post don't work. And the back seat don't have any leg room which I didn't realize when I bought the car. If I could I would bring the car back I hate it. read more

They get you hooked up through Orbit Leasing. Worst company EVER! If I could give zero stars, I would have. They're a bunch of crooks!!! I was leasing a van through them in 2009 and I kept telling them the transmission felt like it was slipping. They kept telling me it was fine. Probably just tweaking it to get it good enough to make it past the warranty. I was later making a drive from Michigan to Reno, NV to visit my best friend and low and behold, at the highest point of elevation during the drive, in the middle of Nowhere, Wyoming THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT!!! Orbits Leasing refused to help me in any way therefore leaving me no choice but to leave my only form of transportation and surrender it. I had to Greyhound and Amtrak back home. Fast forward 3 years and they started garnishing my wages. I was able to call and set up a set amount for them to take instead of garnishing 25% of my disposable income. However, I got laid off. Now.....6 years later, after working at my current job for 2.5 years I get another garnishment letter today. I called and asked if I could just make set payments like before and they told me no. I then looked on my credit report and it shows I have a 0 balance and says it was a "charge off" so basically they're trying to double dip. I've given the garnishment to my lawyer and they will be hearing from him soon. read more

Car City sells used cars... at outrageous prices. Ex: I blindly bought a 1999 Ford Contour with worn paint, a bad head gasket, destroyed catalytic converters, and at least one electrical fault for $6000. Their only advantage is that they can extend financing through their Orbit Leasing arm to low-income and bad-credit customers. See my review of Orbit Leasing for my opinion on that. Suffice to say, AVOID. read more

Do not buy a car in Car City. They put devices in car to shut down the engine, if you dont pay on time. Let say you kid is sick and you have to go to the doctor. This guys could disable your car if you are behind. Nobody does that. Beware. Plus their engines are shaddy and the warranty does not anything. read more

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! They practically bribe customers to write a good google review immediately the day they get their car so it looks like they have a ton of good reviews. I purchased a car from them and paid way more than retail, which I knew. However during the buying process heard a few stories about how they stand behind their cars and that previous customers had the engine blow and how they were so nice they put in a new engine for them yada yada. I know of 3 people, including myself, who have had the engines completely die / sieze up all within ONE YEAR of purchasing their cars. They don't fix anything and you are left with a broken vehicle that doesn't work and stuck making payments to them. DO NOT EVER PURCHASE A CAR FROM THEM! They are liars and do not stand behind their promises and vehicles. All of these great reviews being left on here, I not truth, they are just customers who were bribed to write a good review within 24 hours of their purchase because that's when they are the most excited and 100% satisfied with the company and then the company gets more business because it looks like they have so many great reviews compared to other dealers in the area. A big give away should be the sheer amount of reviews they have compared to other places. STAY AWAY FROM CAR CITY/ORBIT LEASING! read more

The vehicle I was interested in was listed above and over the Kelly blue book excellent condition price. Key word here is "interested" as there will not even be a test drive. The sales person could not bargain, the manager would not bargain, all under the ridiculous claim that if they bargained at all it would be unfair to the people with poor credit looking for a vehicle and the better business bureau would come knocking . As a cash buyer this is utter nonsense and a poor business practice. Pass and ignore until you find a sales lot that is willing to compromise its profit margins like an other company does. read more
