Roasted pork

The owner was very helpful and gave wonderful customer service. He also gave feedback on what I was ordering. He also gave me several home made sauces that were delicious. All of the dishes I got were extremely delicious to my tastebuds. Thank you!

This place is like a hidden gem in Eden Center. Amazing food!! The roast duck and roast pork are very good!! They also serve Hu tieu and mi egg noodles.

I ordered some fish (mackerel) and chips from here. The food and the sauce it came with were meh/okay overall. I liked the light crispiness of the fried fish, but they kind of cooked the fish with a bit too much salt. The service was great. I really liked the guy who took my order and payment. He was so patient and kind. I didn't stay to eat. I ordered my food to-go, but from what I saw, the place seemed pretty well-kept.

Captain Saigon!

We had set out to come to Eden Center to go to another one of our usual restaurants that we go to. We saw that Captain Saigon was new so we took a look. One of the waitresses said they were having a sale on crabs during their grand opening weekend 23-24 November 2019. $10 for a dozen female crabs and $20 for a dozen male crabs. They were delicious! Come soon before they go back up to $45 for females and $60 for males. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful with her suggestions! You will not be disappointed with your experience.

Lobster!!!
Thao N.

Garlic onion lobster is made only upon request. Which i loved. Taste really fresh and is good quality lobster. Im a shrimp lover so obviously got the fried shrimp. And that was tasty also. Crispy and not too bready. When you walk in you can either order at the register and sit down or you can sit down and get served. There is a section that is self served with different condiments and forks, knives. Etc. but overall food was good and didnt have a bad experience.

Last weekend, I saw a new restaurant was running the Grand Opening. I tried their Patio BBQ for some seafood and a Geoduck Sashimi. Their seafood was fresh and they could make sauces by your request. The staffs were helpful to recommended, they had crabs for special prizes. Only 20$/dozen for big male crab and 10$/dozen for females which are amazing in town.

Seafood ramen and udon
Joe L.

Was super excited to see seafood ramen under $10 but it was kind of gross. Broth for the ramen and udon were under seasoned. The sea food was definitely fresh but in the noodles they were over cooked, leaving them chewy and with a metallic taste. Everything else was kind of unmemorable. They're new though so hopefully they'll get it together. Fairly priced if you're just going for noodles (but again, blegh) but the seafood behind the glass is pricey. Staff was nice.

The service carts come around quickly and the hosts/staff are consistently friendly. My favorite dishes are the shrimp har gow, crab claw balls, roasted duck, the shrimp stuffed eggplant, and egg tarts --probably the best egg tarts in the area. My kids love their baked pork buns to the point they can tell when I buy it from somewhere else lol. We've dined at plenty of other dim sum spots, but this remains as a consistent top contender for me. Note: the ambiance is casual but I've been to many events hosted here and it makes for a great canvas to portray beautiful decor.

We were like the food must be good lol When we got our food it was pretty cold. Which is weird cause they just opened. During our meal we hear screaming. It was 2 employees yelling at each other. My friends are Vietnamese and were saying that they were yelling about gambling money. It was pretty annoying and I could tell my friends were uncomfortable. But at the end is where it got really uncomfortable and awkward. The food and service was not good. So I tipped 15 percent. I should have tipped nothing but that's not me and I was in the service industry so i understand everyone has a day off. The, I assume manager or owner came up to the table and told me I'm required to tip 18 percent. I said where does it say that? He says on the receipt. I told him that says suggestions not required and that I could give him 0 tip. He proceeds to make a huge scene about the 2 extra bucks I need to pay. I finally cave because my friends were very very uncomfortable. As we leave my friend said the guy was a talking shit in Vietnamese to his employees about us. My recommendation is to go somewhere else. This was the worst restaurant experience I've ever had and all over 2 dollars that they didn't deserve. I see why they have a low yelp review.

I was in the area and really had a taste for oysters. The water isn't quite cold enough yet for me…read moreto be comfortable with raw oysters, so steamed oysters were the move! I saw that Hook & Reel had them and decided to give it a try. The location was easy to find, and it's in a typical strip mall, so parking was super easy. I went later in the afternoon and it wasn't busy at all. I was greeted and seated immediately, and service was pretty quick. I did check out the bathroom. It was visibly clean, but I will say it didn't smell the cleanest. Outside of that, the restaurant itself was fine. One thing you definitely won't miss is the specials. They have them posted pretty much everywhere on the windows when you walk in, on the tables, etc. There are plenty of options and specials to choose from. I kept my order really simple. I got the steamed oysters with their house blend seasoning and an order of steamed crawfish. I know most people come to places like this for the full seafood boil experience, but I really just wanted oysters and something quick. Overall, it was pretty good for what I ordered. The biggest plus was that the seafood tasted fresh. Nothing had that funky seafood taste or smell. The potatoes that came with the crawfish were fresh, and the corn was a little small, but I mean... it's corn. Would I come back? Yes, mainly because I'd like to try some of their other seafood and get more of the full boil experience next time. For a quick steamed seafood fix, though, it did the job. I kept the bathroom comment and the "it's corn" part because those little details make it sound like an actual review from you instead of a generic restaurant write-up.

About three weeks ago, I left a 5-star review for Hook & Reel Cajun Seafood & Bar because, until…read morerecently, it had become one of my family's go-to seafood spots due to its convenience and generally good food. Before that, our preferred restaurant had always been Crazy Crab, where we consistently had excellent experiences. Unfortunately, after today, I will not be returning to Hook & Reel. I brought family members who had just driven in from Massachusetts and planned to treat them to dinner. There were four of us dining, and while three planned to order the All-You-Can-Eat option, one person preferred ordering directly from the regular menu. After we had already ordered drinks, we were informed by the manager, Vivian, that either everyone at the table had to order All-You-Can-Eat, or everyone had to order from the regular menu. There was no flexibility, no customer consideration, and no appreciation shown for the fact that we are repeat customers who have spent a significant amount of money there over time. In fact, several friends and members of our church began dining there based on our recommendation. What was most disappointing was not simply the policy itself, but the way the situation was handled. We were made to feel as though the restaurant viewed us as people trying to "game the system" over a few shrimp or crab legs, rather than loyal customers bringing business and referrals into the establishment. To make matters worse, this was communicated only after our drink orders had already been placed. Rather than create a scene, we simply paid for our drinks and left. We immediately went to Crazy Crab, where the experience could not have been more different. Staff members remembered us even though it had been months since our last visit. We were welcomed warmly, treated with dignity and respect, and received exceptional service from beginning to end. We gladly spent over $230 there instead. As a retired Army veteran, retired federal executive, business owner, and someone who frequently hosts family, friends, church members, and professional guests at restaurants, customer experience matters greatly to me. One poor interaction can cost a business far more than a single table. It can impact repeat business, referrals, community reputation, and future opportunities. From a business perspective, this experience should concern ownership. In today's economy, restaurants do not simply compete on food -- they compete on customer experience, relationships, and reputation. One inflexible interaction from management did not just lose a single dinner sale; it likely lost repeat visits, family gatherings, business meals, church referrals, and positive word-of-mouth within the local community. Strong businesses empower managers to protect both policy and customer relationships. Unfortunately, in this situation, customer loyalty and hospitality were sacrificed over what appeared to be concern about one person potentially sharing food. That decision ultimately cost the restaurant far more than it protected. If you want to dine somewhere where hospitality, consistency, and customer appreciation still matter, I would strongly recommend Crazy Crab. I truly hope Hook & Reel reflects on how situations like this are handled in the future, because no loyal customer should leave feeling disrespected after choosing to spend their hard-earned money at your establishment.

I was in love when we walked in and fell progressively less in love as we ate more of our food…read more Tl;dr - come for drinks, vibes, and simple shit that is good fried. Do not come expecting a solid seafood dinner. We came here after a nearby event. There was live music in the very sizable back lot area. People were actually up and dancing and having a great time. The vibes were stellar. I don't know if I would be into tbis place in the winter if I had to eat inside because the inside is kind of dingey, but outside in the summer is pretty paradisiacal. I did notice that they were doing karaoke in a weird little side room and it did not seem crowded on a Saturday night so that might be worth checking out. Servers were also all super nice. Pretty sure we entered the wrong way and kind of just let ourselves in through the back lot area and then we had no idea where to go to find a host(ess). So we asked the first server we could find where to go and she went "oh I can seat you" and grabbed two menus. Excellent. She also gave us our choice of wherever. The place is huge. Our assigned server was also nice and really knew the menu, which is not small. The menu had a ton of options including some really interesting tofu options and I had a hard time picking so I got excited. Also very customizable where you can choose your preparation. The beer list was not exactly artisinal...a lot of like...michelob ultra. And they had those island slushy kind of drinks. So at first I was like...this is my new weekend hangout. Then our drinks came. They were small and in little plastic cups. Wuhoh. Then our food came. I should have known it wouldn't be fresh. The price wasa little *too* good. When I asked about the catch of the day it was like four different things. I ended up with a buffalo grouper sandwich (grouper was one of the four things). I have had a fresh buffalo grouper sandwich in Clearwater before and that was in 2019 and I still remember it 7 years later. This buffalo grouper sandwich? Oh no. First of all it was this thin, flat battered fried cutlet thing. The breading absorbed the buffalo sauce so I couldn't taste it very much though they did bring me a lot of Bleu cheese dressing. The fish was bad. I bit into it and it tasted fishy and it was dry. Honestly if I hadn't been super hungry I would have just not eaten it. On top of that, I paid an extra dollar to upgrade from fries to hushpuppies. These were legit hushpuppies, but hushpuppies are small and how many did they bring me? 5. Are you kidding? Again, in Florida these are brought free by the basket. They're literally just fried up balls of corn meal. I think that may have offended me more than the bad fish. My husband went witb BBQ pulled chicken and fries and said both were good. So. Here are my thoughts. Would I come here again in the summer for fun vibes and good service? Yes. Would I set low expectations for my food and drink? Yes. Would I probably just order a softdrink and stick to something simple they can't screw up like a quesadilla and fries? Yeeeeeeeah.

Five Stars - Outstanding Food, Exceptional Service, and an Unforgettable Experience!…read more We recently visited The Salt Line Oyster + Ale Restaurant to celebrate my little sister's birthday, and I must say, they did not disappoint! From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, the entire experience was nothing short of exceptional. Let's start with the food--AMAZING! Our table enjoyed the Pimento Crab Dip, Stuffies, Fried Calamari, Smash Burger, Waterman's Platter, Seared Scallops, and Portuguese Stew. Every dish was delicious, beautifully prepared, and full of flavor. It was clear that the kitchen takes great pride in what it serves. But as wonderful as the food was, the service was even better! Our server, Chante, took exceptional care of us throughout the evening. Her professionalism, warmth, attentiveness, and genuine commitment to ensuring we had a wonderful experience truly stood out. The rest of the staff was equally welcoming and attentive, making our family celebration even more special. What impressed me even more was meeting General Manager Matthew Joseph. His personal engagement and attention to detail reinforced something I have always believed: exceptional customer service doesn't happen by accident--it starts with leadership and a culture of excellence. Matthew and his team clearly understand that. As a former senior executive and business owner, I especially appreciate organizations where leadership, teamwork, and outstanding customer service come together to create a memorable experience. The Salt Line delivered on all three! Thank you, Chante, Matthew, and the entire Salt Line team, for helping make my little sister's birthday celebration so special. You have certainly earned our loyalty. The Salt Line will become one of our go-to destinations for entertaining family, friends, and business associates. Five stars without hesitation! We look forward to returning soon!

I always seek out seafood when eating out. The Salt Line did not disappoint…read more It was restaurant week, which I am not a fan. So, I ordered the regular Arctic char from the regular menu and my friend ordered the special menu for restaurant week. His gazpacho was the best I ever tasted! I believe it even had chunks of shrimp in it with scallions on top that added a nice crunch. Sadly, it's not on the regular menu. He too got the Arctic Char for his entree. The Arctic Char was delicious and the grains underneath with vegetables was yummy. There were small dollops of a wonderful mayonnaise type sauce that was perfect! I would definitely order that again. (The Arctic chart that came with the restaurant week menu was clearly smaller than my regular menu item. This is why I don't care for restaurant week. This is not a slight against the restaurant, all restaurants do this.) I asked for bread and they brought out some yummy Parker rolls baked in a little skillet with old bay butter. They were piping hot and just perfectly fluffy on the inside. They charge six dollars for it. This is a minor issue-- I probably wouldn't charge more than five dollars. Most restaurants don't offer bread at all anymore and if they do--they charge. They really should mention that they charge for the bread when customers asked for it. My friend chose strawberry ice cream for his dessert included in the restaurant week menu. It was just okay, but what can you expect? It was just ice cream. I ordered a wonderful special bourbon old-fashioned--it was delicious. He got a beer which was quite pricey at $13 for a beer. That seems a bit high. We had a wonderful waitress. Her name is Chante. She was delightful and added to our great experience. We sat outside under the cover because it was such a beautiful night we wanted to eat outside. The bar was really hopping and loud. The restaurant decor is very cute with a French bistro style. This restaurant is close to the Ballston Mall. If you can't find street parking, which is usually tight, just go into the mall garage. I will definitely be going back.
