I came through on a weekday right after they opened and ordered the 4-piece fish meal that came with 2 hush puppies, coleslaw and fries. As soon as I entered, I was greeted with a warm welcome from the friendly staff. Inside was clean and well-lit with an ocean theme for the ambiance. They also have a excellent condiment bar with ketchup, tartar sauce, and cocktail sauce pumps along with malted vinegar and hot sauce. My food was ready in no time and was looking exquisite and I couldn't wait to dive in. The fish was battered and deep fried golden brown to perfection while the fries were crispy and crunchy. The hush puppies were plump and circular and moist inside. The coleslaw was prepared fresh with finely chopped cabbage and carrots in a vinegar mayonnaise base that was nicely chilled. I enjoyed my quick lunch very much and kept on thinking about it throughout the day on just how good it was. I loved the condiment bar that is offered with a variety of sauces to choose from. Food value and quality are missing and have been reported to the authorities. We hadn't visited in a while, and after this experience, we won't be back until the chickens involved issue a public apology. I tried to be brave. I really did. I took one for the team and ordered the meal. What arrived looked less like lunch and more like a cry for help. Look at the piece of chicken on the left. I'm not convinced it was chicken. It looked like someone breaded a paper towel, deep-fried it, and said, "Yep, send it." I've attached a picture of the advertisement and a picture of what actually showed up. The advertised meal and the real meal are so different they should be on separate planets. One belongs in a commercial. The other belongs in a police lineup. For over $10, I expected food. Instead, I received a life lesson. The menu photo promised a delicious, crispy meal. Reality delivered something that looked like it had survived a natural disaster, lost a custody battle, and then got reheated under a parking lot heat lamp. Even the fries looked confused about why they were there. I kept taking bites hoping it would improve. It didn't. At one point I think the napkin tasted more authentic than the chicken. Food was out fast. Hot and fresh. I had the seafood deluxe with a free drink. It came with 2 fish , 5 shrimp and 2 fried crabs. The crabs actually had some meat in them not just breading. The coleslaw was good too. But the best part was the service. She was kind and courteous. The lady never stopped working. If she wasn't taking orders and serving food she was cleaning. From the lemon pepper white fish, to the fried shrimp, to the sweet breadstick, and coconut cake, everything is five star delicious. They have standard fish and chips, as well as blackened wild salmon. Prices are on par with Long John Silver's, but better menu offerings. We didn't have to wait too long for our food. But seems that order was not properly checked coz I did not receive my salad. Good food overall and not as greasy as some other places. Food was delicious and hot! We had 2 orders of the 3 piece fish dinners with fries, cole slaw, Mac and cheese and corn. We also ordered some fish sticks and the funnel cake sticks. It was my first time trying the funnel cake sticks. They were so good. I was mad I had to share! The inside was clean and the cashier was patient with me. The fish is crispy on the outside, with tiny delectable crisped crumbs, followed by flaky, flavorful white fish. The shrimp is crispy on outside, yummy and 'shrimpy' on the inside. It's not that I don't Love Captain D's fish and chips, it's just, I am originally from Denver, and the last one I knew about shut down due to lack of business and the place was pretty run down. I ordered the family meal for my family I'm visiting. I haven't seen my guys in a LOONNGG time. So before I ordered I called and made sure everyone liked the Capt as much as I did. The food was alright . The fries seemed like they're could have been fresher but I'm okay with drowning them in ketchup. I was really disappointed that the "Family MEAL" did not come with any (none, zero, nada) tarter sauce. So that's 10 pieces of breaded fish for more that one person, and they cannot take it upon themselves to assume 1-2 people in the family might require tarter sauce? Just because the driver was not aware she had to ask for sauce, maybe just throw one or two in there. Just assume that tarter sauce is the staple for breaded fish. The place is well-maintained inside and outside. Except for some crumbs and pieces of papers on the floor, the restaurant is pretty clean. We ordered some fish, popcorn shrimp, butterflies shrimp, coleslaw and fries. Everything was hot but the fries were soggy. The sweet tea was very weak. Fish n Chips... really its what I expected. I'd never heard of these guys, but its just a typical chain, fast-food seafood joint. The fish was alright- cod I'm assuming. The breading wasn't too bad- not greasy- which is nice. In the combo I think they give you like 12 fries... and not the large kind either, we're talking regular shoe-string fries. Coleslaw was blah. The only thing I saw as a highlight was I liked the Malt Vinegar- it was very mild. I could douse my food with it and not be overpowered with the vinegar fumes and taste. You ought to try it sometime- its how the Brits do it. Speaking of Brits, I sure wish there was a traditional, cheap fish n chips joint around. This has to be the slowest drive thru I've ever been to. It took 15 minutes for me to get my food. I passed 3 levels on Candy Crush (I have a lot of saved lives) between the time I ordered to when I got my food. When I got my food, the guy that handed me the box looked like he just finished fixing his car. His hands were covered in some black dirt (grease?) and it made me question whether or not I should eat the food he just handed me. There was no mention of why it took so long either. This place has hot fresh food for lunch because the high volume but stay far far away in the evening. This fish seems like it was made at lunch and kept under a heat lamp. Both ends of all the fish was dried to a point even the fish inside was French fry like while the center was horribly dry. I won't stop going here but never in the evening again. read more

The workers are a bunch of young kids who aren't professional in the slightest bit. It's creepy quiet in here.. like no music whatsoever or anything so it's distracting and very odd to eat inside. My husband ordered catfish and it tastes DIRTY. Where did they find that poor catfish? I can't describe it... but it was awful. I paid a little extra to add on some butterfly shrimp to my meal and they were 6 pieces that were the size of like ...popcorn shrimp. The cheesecake I thought would be good until they handed me a prepackaged slice of cheesecake from some company I've never heard of. We went through the drive through today. Our order total came to $33.06. I used a debit card to pay. The clerk said the card was declined and showed me a receipt that stated it was declined. I asked her to try again, as the card definitely had money on it. The second time the card went through. We waited a short time and received our food, went home and ate. The orders were correct and the food tasty enough. However, later in the evening, upon checking the bank account I found I was charged twice for the same amount. Upon contacting Captain D's they were absolutely no help in refunding the overcharge. The local store didn't help. Corporate didn't help. Who DID help was the bank, who got the second charge refunded. Thank goodness they helped. We won't be eating again at Captain D's rip off joint and we will tell everyone about their deceptive trade practices. read more

Bravo! I went inside and the employees were super nice. I was surprised by the food. The oil must have been clean because there was no old grease smell. The fish was light and crispy on the outside and succulent on the inside. The hush puppies are so light and airy I felt like I was on a beach instead of the Prairie. This place has been around a long time and I have seen workers come and go over the years. The last time I will ever go I saw a worker refill a tea glass with wrong tea (sweet) when customer asked for unsweet. When the customer pointed out the issue the manager told the girl to just pour it back in the top of the canister. This was a used glass!
