Captain Corndog was a funny and fun experience. The gal working the cart was extremely nice and helpful. I got a regular corndog, a honey corndog, and the onion rings. One thing worth noting is that they are new, very new. My only complaint is that service was very slow. I came in when there was a little line and it definitely moved very slow. I think they could benefit from having two people working during peak lunch hours. The ambiance is fairly nonexistent as it is just a parking lot. The owner is a very nice guy and explained the menu to us and let us know what was popular. We had two carnival dogs and an order if mozzarella sticks. The corn dog was great. They use 100% beef dog and a corn meal based coating. The dogs were cooked to perfection and the mozzarella sticks are delicious. I like corndogs so it was only appropriate that I give Captain Corndog's a go. Stopped by on a Tuesday around 5pm, there were a couple cars in the lot. Getting there though took a little bit as there was traffic (assuming from rush hour/shipyard traffic). The person taking our order was really friendly. We got the Captain Corndog and the corn dog with the cheesy powder dusted on top, both 8" sized wieners. I personally liked it! My person said it was "okay." I found it to be a good size, very filling! I liked the batter they use, it had that hint of sweet from the honey. The only "complaint" I have is that the crunchiness from the panko shredded parts of my mouth! I like crunchy and can overlook it, but inside my mouth kind of hurt through the rest of the day. Luckily for us humans, the inside of the mouth heals fast. They do have a carnival dog that doesn't have panko so when I come by again, I'll order that one! read more

When I saw a friend's post about this food truck, I HAD to include it as a MUST See when I traveled to the PNW from Texas!! The service was amazing and the food was truly delicious I was shocked to learn that this is a relatively new food spot!! The owner is very innovative with his menu items! Captain Corndog? More like Captain Snatch My Soul. The genius behind these hot dogs has all the audacity in the world to live in my mind rent free. I genuinely have not been able to stop thinking about corn dogs for the whole 5 days since we found this place. Send help. Listen, I'm not even a woman who is particularly passionate about meaty rods, but these sticks of glory haven't failed to make a lasting positive impression on my overall mood. I've always liked Korean dogs, but wouldn't usually go out of my way for them (in WA state) because the franks aren't always very good. But I think Captain SMS uses homescratched and battered meat (all puns very intended). I swear I'm not being dramatic when I say these are the best corn dogs I've ever had in my life. Juicy, flavorful, crunchy, and pillowy soft at the same time... it's absolute heaven in my mouth. If I fall more in love with this place, my husband might refuse to ever take me there again bc this hot dog stand on the side of the road is giving him some serious competition in the meat department. Awesome service and food! We stopped at the stand in Belfair and felt very welcomed. We got the honey crunch corn dog (I think that's what it was called) and the fried mozzarella sticks. I was honestly expecting it to taste *just* decent, but there was actually really good flavor to both items we ordered. And I guess he makes his own ranch which was also super yummy! Captain Corndog is kind of a pop-up business run by A GENIUS who opens when he can. Best way to know is to go to Captain Corndog's Facebook. We managed to catch them today after seeing they were open on Facebook. BEST PLACE IN MASON COUNTY!!! These hot dogs and corn dogs are works of art!!! The tempura wrapped bacon... never experienced anything like it. The onion rings are out of this world. Oh my god! This is the best new food in Mason since JRs BBQ left. I am a hot dog fanatic! Usually when we go on vacation the lynch pin of where we go depends of if they have hot dogs there. Captain Corndog's Hot Dogs are GIGANTIC and amazing. So good with so many options. And I've never seen corndogs this big before. I ordered two hot dogs and two corndogs just to see what they were like, thinking they couldn't be that amazing... Captain Corndog called my bluff... Five stars for a corn dog pop-up stand?. Yes, that's my rating. True, it's on the side of a road in Belfair. It's nothing fancy. There's no tables to dine at. You'll either be eating in your car, taking it home with you or eating while standing in the parking lot. But you won't find a better corn dog or onion rings within 100 miles. First step is to pick the size of the corn dog, he has three sizes to choose from. Then he hand dips the corn dog in the batter. If you choose the crunchy version then that gets rolled in the crunchy bits. It's the same for the onion rings, they are hand dipped in the batter when you order and then dropped in the fryer. The rings (onion hemispheres) are served with a side of thick homemade ranch dressing. read more

We received very poor service. When we arrived, the two staff members did not acknowledge us. We stood about 6 feet from the staff and they continued to talk amongst one-another for several minutes.
