We stayed on the beach in Indian Shores, and I really wanted a water experience for all of us that wasn't on a large boat with a lot of other tourists. Looking for a private "captain" close to our beach house, and that's how we found Greg. We saw dolphins within the first 10 minutes on the pontoon. :) After perching on the sand bar and getting off the pontoon to look for shells and sealife, that's when the fun for the family really started. Greg explained the different types of birds in the area, the type of shells we may find. The kids were absolutely enthralled (ages 13-24). Greg was so friendly, informative and just plain fun. I was very pleased with how well Captain Randy communicated and provided additional insight. Upon closer to the time for our day I had a follow up conversation with Cassie who provided even more information that brought comfort not only to me but my guests as well. They provided a cooler with ice and water as well as numerous floats and shelling bags. The whole experience was relaxing and refreshing. Our captain for the day was Jordan and she was Spectacular with keeping us on time and showing us around. We did a 4 hour boat tour but were able to have time on the slide and visit two islands. Wow!!! What a day with Sliprock Charters and Captain Phil! We (my daughter and I) booked an 8…read morehour charter. Besides Capt. Phil just being a hardworking, knowledgeable, and fun guy to be around... it was such a great day chasing multiple species of fish. We started the day chasing Tarpon. We had 2 tarpon hookups but couldn't seal the deal. I fought one that jumped 7 or 8 times but broke me off in the end. What a rush!!! Then my daughter had a shark break her off at the back of the boat. We moved spots and caught a 4.5 foot Black Tip Shark! What a battle! We also caught our limit on Mangrove Snappers and caught some Red Fish to finish out the day. Besides all the fish we caught, we saw alot of the wildlife that Florida has to offer while out fishing today. We saw a manatee, sea turtles, so many dolphins, a 7-8 foot hammerhead shark that swam right under the back corner of the boat. Also, the dolphins ate a couple of the fish that we released! The 4 Hour Cruise is $350, which includes up to six people. I have a 20% Discount in effect through the end of February. This makes the rate $280. Normal departure time is 11AM and is typically from the Clearwater Harbor Marina Yacht & Boat (yes, that's the name) on the mainland side of the Causeway Bridge (aka "Clearwater Memorial Causeway"). Another popular pickup point is the Belleair Causeway Boat Ramp in Belleair Bluffs (Largo area). We can return to either one. I often recommend calling in a deli sandwich order to either of the wonderful Publix supermarkets close to these pickup spots.  Call in your order so you can pick up all your sandwiches, snacks and drinks (alcoholic beverages are certainly allowed) roughly a half an hour before our departure time. We had an 11:45 cruise with Dylan on Saturday, March 14. We were a party of four and there was…read moreanother couple aboard. After we established a DJ and got our coolers and bags settled, we were off! We saw tons of dolphins, the weather was beautiful, and we peppered Dylan with questions about the boat, about his career, about the area. After we turned back towards the marina, Dylan started to experience some issues with the boat. It was sputtering and stalling -- it seemed as though it wasn't getting fuel through the fuel line. Dylan kept his cool and tried to troubleshoot, and then decided to throw out an anchor and get out of the channel for safety's sake. We were all in great spirits and nobody was worried about anything. We felt completely safe and nobody was hard-pressed to return by a certain hour. He managed to work it out and we returned about 15-20 minutes later. (We thought it was an extra bonus!) We applaud his professionalism and his ability to keep his cool. Would recommend this tour to ANYONE!
