Looking for a Napali sunset cruise? Look no further because Capt Andy's is the one. I was debating between Capt Andy's and Holo Holo due to price but decided to chose the Yacht sunset cruise on capt Andy's to treat myself and my family. I am so glad I did. This trip was worth it. The captain Tony was very skilled in maneuvering the boat where we avoided some pretty intense swells. The chef Garett made delicious steaks and sides....holy smokes I never knew boat food could taste as good! The chef later revealed that they are the only boat or company that actually cooks their own food. The crew members Kana and Jance helped my family a lot where even my mom got sick and they made sure they packed her dinner and provided extra assistance to my family. Overall, the experience was worth it! The only thing I would add is bring a towel or a change of clothes or even something that can get wet and dry easily because we did get pretty wet in the beginning which is only natural due to the wind and speed. For example, I would dress casual for the beginning and then change to something nicer for the second half which is dinner and sunset for pictures. Also, I would recommend taking some sea sick pills just incase or bring some if you aren't use to possibly intense boat rides because the ride could be pretty bumpy due to the wind and weather. read more

Incredible experience! The staff, the boat and not to mention the VIEWS were absolutely amazing! This tour from start to finish was around 5 hours long, we dent on the sunset cruise and I highly recommend it. We witnessed sea turtles, sea caves, famous beaches and arches along with 4 rainbows! The ride can get pretty bumpy and prepare to get soaked. Do not wear a hat or anything white! Note: the dinner was buffet style and I'd give it a solid 7 out of 10. They expertly navigated us through (what felt like) huge swells and in and out of sea caves, and we saw dolphins, whales, and sea turtles. We were on both their 55 ft catamaran Na Pali Sunset boat tour and their 65 ft catamaran Na Pali BBQ snorkel boat tour and my wife and I preferred the latter. There were a lot more dolphins in the BBQ snorkel tour as well. We highly, HIGHLY recommend Captain Sky from the BBQ snorkel tour! It was the best boat trip we have ever been on and it was non stop fun during the whole adventure. Make sure to book early so you can get on the 65 ft catamaran instead of the smaller 55 ft one. The views are stunning but not worth it. What they don't disclose is over half the boat will get seasick. There is no prebrief or warning that almost everyone will throw up. Being around multiple people throwing up is not good for the vibes either, I got sick just watching that. I have never gotten motion sickness in my life and was feeling it, didn't get a single photo because the water was too rough that if I stood up, I knew I would throw up. As well as it is absolutely freezing (I am from Arizona and get cold easily but never warmed up after the snorkeling and was miserable the remainder of the day-this was in January). Food is incredible if you can stomach it after throwing up for an hour. Staff are the nicest people I have ever met and are very tentative. I would never recommend this unless you know you have sea legs, do it by helicopter if you have that option. read more

Wife, me and our two daughters (10 & 7) went on the Star Na Pali Sunset Dinner Sunset Sail on 8/3/2021 and had just the best time. The crew went above and beyond to make everything relaxed and enjoyable. Always going around asking if you need a drink refilled or if you want them to take your picture with the amazing Kauai coast in the background. Captain even let each of my daughters "steer" the boat, which made for some amazing smiles and lifetime pictures. And the dinner was straight 5 star; Filet Mignon, Jumbo Shrimp Skewer, Roasted Potatoes, Asparagus and Carrots. My wife got the Vegetarian option which replaced the Filet /Shrimp with a stuffed bell pepper. And the dessert was sublime: mini key-lime cheesecake. Not to mention the endless drinks served... the "sneaky tikis" adult bevies are a must and will definitely sneak up on you if you're not careful. We also saw some dolphins and at least a dozen or so perfect picture rainbows painting the Kauai island in the backdrop. But by far the best part of the whole trip was the crew. From the captain on down, every crew member was hustling around with smiles to make sure each of their guests were having a blast and wanted for nothing. 21-Jun-2018 Today my wife and I experienced the snorkel/ barbecue tour with Captain Andy's Sailing Adventures and it was everything we had heard about from Trip Advisor and friends. We arrived at about 7:15 am to check-in for our 8:00 am tour. There were poppyseed muffins and coffee to hold us over until the tour started. We left promptly at 8:00 am and had quiche and fresh fruit for breakfast. We had a smooth trip to the sea while learning the history of the island and waterfalls. We saw a pod of dolphins on our way to our destination to snorkel with sea turtles. After snorkeling, we had a delicious and very hearty cheeseburger. After lunch, we headed back and enjoyed perfect weather and waves that splashed us until we returned to dock at 1:30 pm as promised. It was a perfect day out on the ocean. We had an incredible time today on our Captain Andy's NaPali Coast Tour! We were fortunate to have Captain Larry, Makana and Tristan as our crew. We left Port Allen around 8:00 am, and due to very favorable weather we were able to travel further than usual along the NaPali coast. Captain Larry is very knowledgeable about Kauai and shared lots of great information. We saw tons of dolphins - we literally stopped about six times to watch dolphins playing, spinning and generally showing off. It was magical!! We snorkeled for about 50 minutes; saw Honu and a big variety of fish. Lunch was delicious - a really good turkey sandwich on ciabatta bread, rice salad and a cookie. I've taken 4 trips with Captain Andy's over the years, most recently this week and if anything the experience just continues to get better. The crew was professional, friendly, attentive and happy to answer questions. I believe we had a full catamaran because there was a second group boarding another catamaran at the same departure time; so assuming ours was at capacity I can say there was still plenty of room to move around and sit. The lunch was great - plenty of food that included vegetarian options, fresh and well-prepared. Crew was great about coming around to ask if they could get anything for you - working with the public can sometimes be a real drag but they seem genuinely enthusiastic about the job. This was without a doubt. 5 Star experience. Since we are on the Island of Kauai, Hawaii, on business we wanted to take in as much of Hawaii that we could. So we booked the dinner cruise along the Napali Coast. We were told that the sights would be amazing and yes they were. Our cruise began at around 2:30. Immediately after boarding the boat, a 65' catamaran, the crew was everywhere offering everyone drinks. BTW , we had to take our shoes off and store them in a rack on shore. You need to know that you will definitely get wet on this cruise. The boat is traveling pretty fast and the wake was spraying water on everyone. Just bring a towel and enjoy it. The tour covers about 80 miles, but the sights are just amazing. Occasionally a pod of porpoises will come over and ride the bow. That was fabulous. We also saw two whales which was an unexpected treat. The captain and crew were very attentive and always checking to make sure everyone was ok. I can't say enough about how professional the crew was. On our way back the captain found a calm spot for dinner. The menu, filet, and shrimp, with asparagus and potatoes. Open bar the entire trip. Music playing all the time which was very relaxing. Finally, the sunset. It was unbelievable, just fabulous. The pics don't do it justice. So beautiful it almost makes you cry. My boyfriend and I did the Star Na Pali Dinner Sunset Sail on 4/26/21. On the drive there, we were stuck behind traffic as there was construction work going on during that time. I gave them a call and told them we may be running late, the lady who answered the phone was very polite and told us where to park and to check-in at the parking lot as there was a QR code posted there. Parked and went to the place of the meet up and was told to just have a seat and wait. We had 15 minutes before we even walked to the boat. We even noticed 3 other parties came much later than us. Our Captain for that night, I forget his name, knew his way around the Na Pali Coast and had a great sense of humor! The crew were just as great and accommodating. They were approachable and basically our part time photographer. We got some really nice shots, honestly I think every photo was beautiful as the views were breathtaking. We saw some whales and dolphins, the dolphins were so cute because they wanted to play. They were swimming side by side with the boat. Half way through the tour, drinks were offered and dinner was being served. The 'Sneaky Tiki' sure did live up to its name. I didn't think there were much alcohol in there, got a couple of those and it made the dinner and the rest of the tour more enjoyable than it already is. For dinner, we started off with a salad then we had about an 8-oz portion of steak and 3 grilled shrimp with asparagus and carrots. My boyfriend thought it wouldn't fill him up but it was just the right amount! The dinner itself was delicious and seasoned right! We also had a tiny cheesecake to top it off. Boyfriend approves since he's a sweet-toothed enthusiast. We saw the sun setting while sipping on our Sneaky Tiki while enjoying the nice breeze. If you like to get splashed with a bit of salty ocean water, go to the front. If not, stay more to the back. There are plenty of places to sit and to hold on all around. we booked this tour based on the website video and pictures as well as the description. I think the video is of the boat Northern Star. We were on the Southern Star which is older and a bit more worn. The seating didn't all have tables like the video showed and the bathrooms were not real clean. We crossed over the Northern Star to board our boat and you could see the difference quite clearly. The meal was Ok. It is very similar to most conference or banquet fare. The vegetables were good but the filets were overcooked and dry. the bar doesn't open until 2 hours into the trip and the selection was very limited We have taken several catamaran cruises in Kauai and this was the first one that didn't serve drinks for most of the cruise. We did the raft tour that was exploring caves and snorkeling and loved it! Chase and Keanu were the most incredible crew and made the day so much fun! They were incredibly knowledgeable about the history of the area, the species we encountered, and kept us engaged the entire tour. The boat ride up the coast was a ton of fun - we saw dolphins more than 4 times and the view of the coast was incredible. The lunch was above and beyond what we expected and we went back for seconds. Chase and Keanu created a rapport with everyone on the tour, checked in with us throughout the trip, and helped us feel safe the whole time. Even after docking they took the time to give us recommendations about what to do and see during our time on the island. This is the second time we experienced Captain Andy's Cruise to the Na Pali coast. This time we went on a dinner cruise that was set to enjoy the sunset on the way back. My biggest concern was to be able to have a seat and a table to enjoy my meal....lol. I'll explain more on that later. After parking across the street you walk back to check in. You're give a color so you could line up for your cruise and Captain. Lots of seating inside and outside while your waiting to leave. Gotta love the Captain Andy weather chart...see the pic. We were escorted down to the dock where we left our shoes in a locker. No worries they will be there when you return. Once on the boat Captain Kyler gave a briefing and safety speech. We were fortunate for good seas today. The day before it was pretty big swells. Our average was around 20 feet. About the seating and tables for eating....I was pleased to see ample of both....whew. As we were sailing Dillon, our chef who looked like he was 16 was preparing our meal. We could see him in the galley grilling up our filet mignon! We weren't disappointed in seeing several playful Humpback whales along the way. In addition there was a huge school of spinner dolphins that wrapped around the boat. They gave us a wonderful show. Captain Kyler also gave a great narration about the coast's history, sugar cane plantations, buildings and military sites etc. The views if the Na Pali coast were breathtaking. The cliffs here were very high about 1500 feet. Geologist say by the height of the cliffs Kauai is probably the oldest Island. All you could drink beer, wine and sodas. They had a craft cocktail that was pretty good too. We got to eat on the way back....quite a nice meal. Filet mignon, shrimp, carrots, potatoes and asparagus. For dessert cheese cake! Great way to spend your mid day to early evening. Staff were all professional and friendly! read more

What an amazing way to spend an evening in Kaua'i! The weather in January isn't ideal for going up the Na Pali side of the island as we had planned for. However we made the alternative trip down the Southern side and it was still beautiful. We saw hump back whales, spinner dolphins, and huge sea turtles! Along with some good music, great food and a memorable sunset! We also heard a lot of history about the island, names of rock, and Queen Emma. We recommend this trip to those looking for a special way to spend the day/evening enjoying this beautiful world. read more

Cheeeeehooooo!!! We had an incredible morning sail with the crew at Captain Andy's last week (10/7/2022) while we were in Kauai. Starting off, Victor who was greeting everyone and checking them was so friendly and helpful. Captain Dane, sidenote: although had just flown in from Paris the night before, was so energetic and set the tone for the amazing sail along the Na Pali coast. Victoria served up a delicious lunch and made us feel like we'd known each other for years. Mark and Carly were amazing. They were always making sure everyone on board was comfortable and never to far to call on if you had a concern. Seriously the best crew for our first time sailing adventure! We saw dolphins, turtles, and a bunch of fishes while we snorkeled. Captain Dane is so knowledgeable of the island and the ocean, it was really just captivating listening to him. My husband had 3 things on his "to do" list on our first trip to Kauai: ride on a catamaran, go snorkeling and see the Napali Coast. We were able to accomplish all 3 in our Capt. Andy excursion. While I tend to get seasick, I applied the little patches behind my ears before the trip, took a non-drowsy Bonine, and limited my time in the cabin, and had a great time. The captain and crew provided tons of information along the way about the wildlife and history of the island, pointing out dolphins and whales along the way. The views were stunning, the food was good, the snorkeling was fun (although, honestly, we saw a ton more fish at Poipu Beach), and the music was enjoyable. We had a wonderful time today on the water with this group! Our captain Blane was great and Sam the chef and I forgot the other 2 people ( both wonderful too). We saw tons of dolphins, turtles and even some whales breaching! So beautiful! We snorkeled for an hour and the water was so warm. It rained which was ok and then at the end of our trip the sun came out. Lunch was decent. All our staff and captain were beyond helpful and attentive, and I don't mean because they have to, Victoria, Braydon, Deeda and Jacob were so friendly and there anytime you needed anything. We've done a few activities here on the island and these guys by far have had the best customer service we've ever experienced. The snorkeling was so much fun and we got to swim next to two sea turtles and beautiful fish. We also had the opportunity to see two different types of dolphins.
