The churros were warm and crispy on the outside and soft inside but had a slight burnt flavor. Both dipping sauces were good but in a different way. It's like donuts topped with caramel or guava, one is more fruity and the other more sweet. Just depends what you're in the mood for or what you prefer. I also got the frances hot chocolate which is their hot chocolate with vanilla. It was better than what I had earlier at another place. Overall the churros were good but not the best i've had.

You select what you want, pay, and then pick up your order. Their cookie selection is immense, and they sell them by the pound. I ordered two boxes at half a pound each. The cookies are delicious (think Whole Foods cookies, but better). For sweet bread, I only chose six pieces since they don't travel well on a plane, but wow... the quality was outstanding and the variety is incredible. Service is quick and cordial. The place itself is an old bakery with amazing lighting and original floors from the 1930s. If you're in CDMX, this is a must stop.

The guava roll had a tangy cream and there wasn't enough filling to pastry. The cacao roll also was tangy and had a waxy texture due to the nibs. I wished both were a little sweeter. The dulce de leche bun was also dry and very messy to eat. It did taste the best out of the three pastries though. My favorite from the trip was the beetroot juice, it was so refreshing.

I randomly passed Pastelnara in La Zona Rosa (CDMX's gayborhood), and being a fan of most things Korean, I couldn't help but grab the green tea cup bingsu (pictured). It did not disappoint. While it was slightly different than the bingsu I'm used to, it was a surprisingly pleasant take on a traditional Korean dessert. The dish was served in a 12oz recyclable cup and consisted of finely shaved ice, green tea syrup that made its way through most of the dish, and it was all topped off with vanilla ice cream and finely chopped nuts. It tasted great, and the best part--it was less than $2.50 USD.
