I came here in the middle of the day on a whim, just because I happened to be next door at a cafe…read more I had been having this urge for ice cream ever since I returned back here a couple of weeks ago. The ice cream shop is nice but they have a very limited selection of ice cream. I ordered just a single scoop of the most colorful ice cream they had called boom boom. It tastes very fruity almost like marshmallow which was quite a difference to the usual coffee that I had been sipping on. There was nowhere to sit so I went on back to the chin cafe where I started from. The other cafes along the same street had tables along the sidewalk, and I'm not sure why this place didn't have those. The ice cream also seemed maybe a little bit over-priced, but it was still delicious.

This is a cute little counter service stand. The guy working there spoke perfect English, which…read morehelped us to decipher some flavors without busting out our google translates. A single small scoop was $50 MXN (~$2.50). I think a double was $70 MXN, but I could be wrong. They also had a cute little dog cup option. Favorites: - Queso de cabra con ate de membrillo: goat cheese with quince paste - my favorite - Albahaca con chocolate: basil and chocolate - Cafe: legit coffee ice cream - strong with just the right amount of sweetness. Ice cream textures were smooth, and the flavor was not too heavy nor sweet. They were very nice about letting us sample.

Very interesting ice cream flavors, mostly with an alcoholic taste. My local friend took me here…read moresince we were hanging out in Zona Rosa. Near Reforma and all the action of Zona Rosa, Helado Obscuro offers a well-priced ice cream option in the area (50 pesos for a large single scoop). Helado Obscuro accepts cash and credit card. Staff here speak both Spanish and English. For me, since I like using my foreign languages, I used Spanish to order! I tried various flavors such as Frankenstein, Monja Borracha and the Galaxia Ficticia; I found most of the alcoholic notes on most of the flavors to be a bit too strong for my liking. My friends liked these flavors though, but they weren't my cup of tea. I did find the Sangria flavor to be quite delicious. For me, I like the taste of sangria and wine, so I found the Sangria helado (ice cream!) to be quite to my liking. The alcohol notes weren't very strong on this one. For those who want something fruitier without too much alcoholic taste, the Sangria flavor would be a good choice for you. One of the cool things about this ice cream joint is that there are a LOT of areas to sit. They blast up EDM music almost like a club or lounge. As you can imagine, the place is frequented by a lot of younger folks. I'll definitely be back when I'm in CDMX!
