been going here for many years the pizza was always consistent with no issues. the waitress/server Eryka, is always phenomenal. the last four times we were there the pizza has been kinda lousy either not enough sauce or sauce not take. all the way up to crust. or soggy or burnt don't know what happened apparently new cooks well these cooks are not good enough to make the pizza like it was so I probs will not come here much anymore very truly disappointed. as all good things have been coming to an end everywhere sadly but true. read more

This evening, when I arrived in town, my sister, mom, and I went to this restaurant. I ordered the steak salad like I always do when in PA because steak salads in western PA always come with French fries and morzarella cheese. I have eaten steak salads where they asked me how I wanted my steak. When I got the salad, no fries, and cheddar cheese. I questioned the waitress, and she told me that was the salad I ordered. I showed her the menu, and she told me I didn't order steak salad with French fries, and if I wanted fries, she would need to charge me. She then went on to tell me she was right and I was wrong. My sweetheart brought home some kinda forgettable antipasto insalata con pollo AND Banana Peppers Stuffed with Hot Sausage. The stuffed peppers are so good, there is no reason to make them at home. This is the third time I have had them and the quality is consistently EXCELLENT. The red sauce on the peppers is also EXCELLENT, nice and bright and fresh. The only thing I will change the next time I order these peppers (and there will be a next time) is to ask the cook to hold the mozzarel; a little Romano is all this great dish needs. Can't say much about the rest of the menu, but if the peppers are the only good thing they make (kinda doubt it), Capri has done enough. PS - So many Yelps count down a restaurant's decor or service and never mention the food. These beaters are looking for the ambiance of The Four Seasons or The Rattlesnake Club at a McDonalds. A once good restaurant that has suffered from post Covid decline. Friendly waitress's but food quality and shabbiness of the restaurant make it hard to justify the prices. Also if you use a card you will be assessed an additional fee. They are up front about this but for me it is another reason to go elsewhere. read more

Ok food was fantastic chicken pastini yummy! Pizza great. Waitress great this afternoon. With that being said I need to address the Hostess at the front door with her mask around her chin and her mouth and nose exposed coughing and sniffling as you come in and she walks around the whole dang place. I'm not sure if she has not been watching the news but there's a coronavirus. That was very disturbing. So owner keep your sick workers at home. Another thing is there's a cash shortage in America that also was on the news. So if you go there to eat make sure you bring cash that you have stashed somewhere because if you pay with a card you will owe them 4% more than your bill. I consider this to be a small local chain. There are several of these throughout this region. I decided to dine here by myself. When I walked in I was greeted rather quickly and had a menu in hand. The space, even though it was on the small side, felt big. They use the space well and with the minimal decoration doesn't feel crowded. With there being not too many people in here my service was super fast. Not having anything in mind on what to order, I just decided to mash up my meal. I ordered a BLT which came with chips and a slice of pizza. I figured since I was at a pizza shop I should give the pizza a try. As with the service, the food came out rather quickly. It's not really hard to put together a BLT and make sure that the pizza was warm. The BLT was simple. The bacon was cooked to my liking. Where it has that crunch you like but at the same time it just doesn't fall off the sandwich. Fresh lettuce and the tomato was just sliced. Mayo on the side so I could add as much or as little as I'd like. What irked me here is that you could tell that they just opened up a bag of generic chips and poured a few on the plate. I would have thought that they would have been able to whip up a batch of these in the back in a few minutes. That was the big disappointment of the plate. As for the pizza I just got a piece of plain cheese. The crust was great, baked perfectly and thin. However I do have to say that this one slice of pizza was mighty salty. And I can't contribute the saltiness to toppings. Maybe it was the cheese, but I think it might have been the sauce. Things to note about this place: It's more like seat yourself, don't be like me and stand there for a few minutes before the server tells you that you can have a seat anywhere. You can order a pick up order here, when you do that you can enter through a side door that basically takes you to the kitchen counter where you can pick up your pizza. Cards accepted. read more

My husband and I went to Capri Restaurant tonight for dinner. We ordered garlic knots , a chicken roll which were both very good, and a slice of cheese pizza. My husband took one bite of the slice and said it was terrible. It wasn't fresh and seemed like it had been sitting around all day. We told our waitress and she asked the owner if she would take it off the bill. The owner said no. If you are a business owner, you should always be looking to satisfy your customers and preserve your reputation. Poor customer relations!!! We would never give them our business again!! read more

Ordered for pickup with coworkers for lunch. Ordered the stromboli which is advertised online for $7.75 with three "toppings". Ordered onion, mushroom and chicken. Got a 6" Stromboli with canned mushrooms and was charged $15! When I called to inquire, I was informed that online prices are not updated (for which I shouldn't be held responsible but I can understand) and strombolis are $10. They charged me $5 for the chicken and, I assure you, the chicken was not plentiful. I just believe that a $5 upcharge should have come with a heads up. We went to Capri based on the previous reputation when it used to be in the Richland Mall. (Yes, I am showing my age here.) We were sorely disappointed. We waited for almost 10 minutes at the door until we finally just seated ourselves. We then overheard one of the waitresses telling the other one "Look at where they are sitting!" after which they had a discussion on who should take our table. After we were seated, we then proceeded to wait more than 10 minutes again to receive a menu. We were only 1 table out of 4 occupied in the place, and the other tables already had their food. As the 1 waitress passed by our table she threw 2 menus on our table as she quicklyrushed by, quite in a hurry. When the other waitress came to take our order, she stopped no less than 3 times to say either they didn't have it (the veal parm.) or that something wasn't on the menu (the chicken parm). She then proceeded to say she had to go ask the cook. She came back and said that I had to show it to her on the menu! It's one thing to be unfamiliar with a menu that clearly had too many items) then to insist that they did not offer something on the menu. (The item in question was chicken parm). I proceeded to finally get our order successfully placed. We sat and waited. and waited. and waited. The waitresses never came back out during this time and we could see them going over the menu. She them came out and said that we had to show her where chicken parm. was on the menu. AGAIN. Needless to say, I showed her where it was and she took several minutes to read it (I had to point it out) and still tried to argue that I must be seeing things because she did not believe me. (Did I not just show her where it was?)After it was some time after she took our order, I told her that I wanted my salad before the rest of my meal. She looked at me like I was crazy. When she brought my salad out, she went into the waitress area and brought out my entrée immediately. She brought out the chicken parm- two large pieces of the chicken parm all alone on the plate. When I reminded her about the spaghetti on the side she told me that it didn't come with it even though I had ordered it with the spaghetti. It didn't matter what I said to her, she insisted that I couldn't get it that way. How can you serve chicken parm. without spaghetti? I was PO'd! She just didn't want to stop arguing with me and let me have the darn spaghetti! I finally had to ask her repeatedly to leave so I could eat the food items that I been given This whole meal was a comedy of errors and it was only the previously excellent reputation of Capri that we had stopped in there in the first place. After we had received our meal, the place really began to fill up. There weren't enough waitresses and I think it was the first waitress's first night since I had to keep showing her where things were on the menu. I had to ask 3 times for our bill. I honestly don't know if we will go back there again or not. The meal items that we DID receive were excellent! The mixed veggies were soft without being mushy, the chicken parm (sans spaghetti) was extremely appealing and quite delicious, and the salad was clean crisp and came excellently presented. My wife, my 2 children and I came in for dinner today and before we even got menus the waitresse asked if we knew what we wanted. We informed her that we didn't have menus. After that we ordered food. As the food got to the table in a timely manner, the waitress before I even took a bite of my food, had the check in hand asking if we were going to want dessert. She asked again a short while later, again we weren't even close to finishing our food yet. She seemed to be trying to rush us out. After we finished our food we start getting ready we asked for the check my wife and kids head to the car. I waited 10 more minutes until the check was brought to me. This was a terrible experience. This evening I ordered take out from the Capri Pizza located on Town Centre Drive. What a disappointment. I had one slice of regular pizza and one slice of sicilian. Pizza is one of my favorite foods, and I am not hard to please. That being said, this pizza was simply not edible. Both slices were dry, hard and over cooked. Sadly, I ended up throwing the slices in the trash. My daughter ordered the stuffed shells which were also disappointing, They looked like deflated, limp noodles with no substance to them. Some of the best pizza in town! Their calzones are also yummy as well! Nice sized portion. Their meatballs are amazing as well. The only thing that isn't amazing is the service. The waitresses are often rude and don't always check on you. I think it's ridiculous the negative comments. If you live in Johnstown you should know there isn't much to choose from. I've tried most of the pizza places from Papa johns to Capri pizza. This is the first pizza place I have found that tops the rest of the other places. I moved from CT to this crappy town and I had a fav pizza place there and no pizza place in Johnstown tops them. However, Capri pizza is maybe my second place. I mean everyone has a bad experience at food restaurants it happens all the time but just because you had a bad experience doesn't mean the next person will. Tried them out after much hesitation. Consistency is NOT their strong point. My server didn't know what fried calamari was. She never brought them out. Pizza was great! Soup was ok. Chicken Marsala was rubber chicken and brown stuff 1.5 hours later. I felt bad asking for our appetizer after she said she was choking and "Didn't you hear me choking?" My kids and I laughed so hard. Today I had ordered a salad and a club sandwich. While I was eating my salad I found a dead fly and I called to let know. I told them I wanted my money back for both since I would not be eating my lunch Bc the same lettuce was used both in the salad and on the sandwich.
