We headed over for dinner on a Friday night and we made a reservation a day or two before for 6:30 pm as it does get pretty busy. They had a mix of indoor and outdoor seating with very vibrant blue and yellow decor throughout the restaurant and in the plating as well. Our server was very helpful and made small talk with us throughout ordering and checking in. Lavender Arnold Palmer and Cucumber Mojito - Started out with two drinks. Both were very refreshing and light which helped cut through the heavier dishes we were eating. Calamari Alla Griglia - I love grilled calamari but this portion wasn't too big. It was soft and had a nice chewy texture. It had a strong peppery, grilled taste and leaned more on the sour side even without the lemon added. Linguine Diavolo - This was spicier than I expected but the tomato sauce had depth and flavor. It was piping hot and the pasta had a great texture. I do wish they had more shrimp in the dish as the ratio was a bit off. My sister ordered the lamb rack which came with creamy mashed potatoes and a nice pesto sauce. A great place for a fancier meal and take a walk to the waterfront with some pretty views. read more

FYI: We came here for New Year's Eve so it was a set menu but please believe I most likely will not be returning even for a normal menu because nothing about this place was really normal PROS: The food tasted okay. The hostesses were also very friendly so shout out to them and how they were handling a very crappy situation (the owners had overbooked the restaurant and the reservations were extremely backed up) CONS: Where do I even start...for starters, we had to wait AN HOUR to get seated for our RESERVATION which is insane on its own. The front bar area was jam packed with parties who were waiting to be seated, you could barely move around. They seated us after we approached them about the wait time several times but tried to give our table away to another party (who looked to be family or friends) by literally offering me $100 if we could wait a few more minutes for a "nicer table". The service in between courses was so inconsistent that you couldn't even tell that they were pressed for open tables. Our appetizers and drinks came out at lightening speed but we had to wait about 30-40 minutes for our second course. The music was so incredibly loud that I couldn't even hear the people sitting right next to me and even after our party asked to turn the volume down a bit TWICE, I could've sworn the volume got louder. Like yes, I know it was NYE but there's a difference between restaurant volume background music and club volume. This ain't a club, the music doesn't have to be deafening. But lo and behold the universe loves proving me wrong, and I kid you not, the area right next to us suddenly turned into a glorified dance floor. I'm going to remind you that I was supposedly at a restaurant, but here I was feeling like I just crashed a wedding looking at this group of people, one of them being a hostess, dancing and waving napkins above their heads 2 feet away from where my family was trying to have a nice meal together. I cannot make this up, I literally watched some middle aged man GET UP ON HIS CHAIR AND START DANCING. I get being a family owned restaurant (if that's what this is) but having your entire family of 15+ people parading around, dancing, and blowing on noise makers while other people are trying to eat is taking it to a level that's flat out rude. This whole restaurant felt like they opened it specifically for their family to come eat at and all other customers who weren't related to them or are family friends with them are excluded from some big inside joke. Our party got so annoyed that we decided to skip the dessert course and the complimentary champagne, paid the bill right after our main course, and left. read more

We just had the worst experience. It was my parents' 80th birthday, and it was 100 degrees outside. We weren't told the HVAC didn't work. It was so hot, we waited over an hour for our food, and we had to leave when we got it because we were so hot. We were charged for everything even though we complained several times about our experience. Do not eat here, especially not for a special occasion. read more

My wife and I go here all the time. It's a beautiful restaurant and everyone we have fought to the restaurant has loved the ambience. The food is absolutely amazing. The pasta is so delicious and very few restaurants cook it as well. The seafood is always super fresh and the beef is awesome. Please try this restaurant. You will have a great time. Beautiful place! Our friends live one block away so we walked to our Saturday night reservation. Parking in this area is extremely challenging. It's residential and these people never seem to move their cars! We were warmly greeted and seated at a cozy table for 4. This restaurant is aesthetically pleasing and I loved the loungey music. Nice warm bread for the table. Thank you! Our appetizers and entrees included the Caesar Salad, Bacon Wrapped Scallops, Lobster Ravioli, Chicken Parm, Gnocchi with gorgonzola, and the pasta special (Squid Ink with seafood). Everything was delicious but the gnocchi stole the show. Amazing! Nary a leftover to be had. Bea was our server and she was fantastic! She was kind, warm, and made great recommendations. Love me some Capri! Stopped in with a resy for date night on a Saturday. Immediately the hosts and staff were accommodating and friendly. The ambiance is super romantic, cozy, Almafi coast vibes. Crazy that they offer outside seating in this weather but hey. We ordered the chicken parm and shrimp linguine which was amazing. I didnt even think something so simple like chicken parm could be elevated but it was really good. They do have a full bar if you're not interested in their cocktail list. Very very upset. Came 15 min early for our reservation and was told there's no tables to seat us outside nor any coming available for 2. We had reserved an outside table. Best they could do was inside. There were empty tables outside and could have seated us and instead was told that was reserved for other people. That's not how you treat someone who has dined here before and made a reservation for outdoors. Very least you could say well comp you a drink since we can't honor your request but that wasn't even presented as an option so we left. read more

Okay, new restaurant who this ?! Well I needed to check out this spot and although we can all use some warmth in our lives during this brutal cold Philly cold, Capri's debut has fallen short for me. Here is why. The place itself is Gorgeous! The vibes are immaculately and even the cutlery high class. Menu is modern Italian with specials. The service however leaves a lot of lacking. Don't get me wrong the bus boys are amazing , but the servers who put in orders are lost and unfortunately not as attentive. I mean to wait 15 mins to put in an order for drinks is kind of a stretch. And then the appetizer arrives before the drinks. Any way from the food the risotto with shrimp was phenomenal, so was the chocolates hazelnut cake. My girlfriend was ecstatic that Capri had just opened, as she had been showing me tiktoks of it all week. We came for a pre-dinner drink to see if it passed the vibe check, and boy did it. We got a seat at two of the yellow bar stools and immediately ordered drinks. They had just got their liquor license only a few days before, so they were still working out all the kinks but we started chopping it up with the bartenders. I learned why they made their Negroni with Italicus instead of Campari and why there is a curry leaf at the bottom of it. Great people in here, and even better attention to detail. It was hella early, so was just us and 2 Albanian dudes at the bar who were cranking away at their laptops while sipping some martinis. One of them got a pasta dish that looked delectable. He 100% saw me breaking my neck and eyeing it up, as he came over and said it was a house special and put 1/4 of it on a plate for my gf and I to split. Next level hospitality, literally taking food off their plate and giving it to us... and those seared scallops were to die for. Turns out they are 2 of 6 Albanian cousins who own/operate this place, inspirational really. Family business. We were having such a blast and the vibes were so up that we ordered the caesar salad and a dozen oysters, both of which slapped... but the real MVP was this bread. It was warm and fresh, and came with a thyme butter that I would have just eaten by the scoop if I wasn't so civilized. There are levels to the bread & butter game, and Capri's is at the top. We ended up probably eating a pound of it as it was so damn fresh. Capri is the perfect intersection of being a trendy/instagramable place while also serving up bomb food and ode drinks. This is a newer restaurant in Philly. My wife and I went here for our anniversary. The food was fantastic. The portions were just right and the flavor was fantastic. We had the fried calamari to start. It was crispy on the outside, and the calamari was cooked to tender perfection. The squid ink pastas was a special and it had grilled calamari, scallops and shrimp. My wife had the risotto, which was equally satisfying. She was able to add a protein and loved it. The service was right on time every time. The staff were polite and it seems like a family owned restaurant which means you get family owned attention to detail. The atmosphere is coastal, with light colors, wall art and wicker light fixtures, black and gold. It was a fun, modern atmosphere that we appreciated. This place was hit or miss - my branzino was good but my husbands veal parm was disgusting. The service was also just ok. I feel like they try to project good service but were only checking to dos off a list without really caring. For example our server hovered and came by multiple times to check how ourfood was, but right after each dish had just been served. A huge pet peeve of mine as I can't tell you anything if you don't give me a chance to eat it. I also told her about how tough the veal parm was at the end and that entire table shook when trying to cut into it and she barely acknowledged. As someone who works in the restaurant industry myself, it really upsets me to have to write this. I came here with my friend to celebrate her birthday, and we were hoping for a good experience but what we got was the complete opposite. The food was average, which we honestly didn't mind. What was truly upsetting was the service. The restaurant was nearly empty, yet we somehow received some of the worst service I've ever experienced. Our server, Beatrice, never once checked in on us not to ask how the food was, not to see if we needed anything. She completely ignored us until it was time to drop the check, which she auto gratted at 20% without any explanation. To make matters worse, we noticed that other tables around us were being given birthday candles or desserts, and we didn't receive anything, even though we clearly mentioned it was a birthday celebration in the reservation. We asked to speak to a manager, and they told us there wasn't one available. Like, what kind of restaurant doesn't have a manager on duty? We were seriously confused. Then the server, visibly upset, grabbed the check and stormed off to remove the auto grat still no apology, no explanation, nothing. The entire time, all we were hoping for was a simple, Hey, I'm so sorry, we're short-staffed today or just some acknowledgment and accountability. Instead, we were left feeling ignored and disrespected. Honestly, it was really disappointing. Mind you, there was probably 1 large group in the whole restaurant and 5 small table. AND she had helpers lol. Anyways, I just find it funny she just didn't give a shit about our concern. We had a nice group luncheon on the second floor of the restaurant. It's a residential neighborhood, but we didn't have any issues with Parking. We started our event with a nice mimosa toast The restaurant offered a fixed menu with delicious appetizers, including mussels, fried Burrata and an antipasto plate followed by a choice of two different salads, and then several different entrées. I had a Capri salad followed by the salmon dish. Portions were just right and the meal was excellent. to top it off, we had a dessert selection which included cannolis , cheesecake and other pastries. The service was excellent. The waiter and waitress assigned to our private upstairs room were very attentive to making sure our meal was perfect. The building is very beautiful inside and historically significant. Then it took 10 minutes to track down a server just for salt. Was so excited to try this new restaurant! Unfortunately very disappointed all around. We had a 730 reservation, and were not seated until after 8, with no apology or explanation. We quickly ordered drinks and an appetizer. The appetizer came many minutes before the drinks, and far too quickly for it to be fresh. The octopus was fishy and chewy. The lavender mocktail was way too sweet. The tomato martini was not good, but they replaced for a regular martini. Entree time. It came out within 5 minutes. No way it was fresh. It was lacking in flavor, warmth, and was bland. We had the gnocchi, chicken parm and penne a la vodka. Blah. For dessert, we had the "gelato". It was 100 percent breyers ice cream. She was an absolute sweetheart--attentive, kind, and just delightful. Which, ironically, made the meal even worse because it felt like a crime to complain to someone so lovely. OK, so first I want to say the customer service was impeccable. The ambience in there is beautiful. I will definitely be going back. So my parents got the lamb and they did not really like it because the mashed potatoes came out cold. We also originally got the calamari that was grilled in. It tasted uncooked. It was not good so we ended up getting the fried calamari, but it was not seasoned. The pasta dishes were pretty good. The fish was pretty good as well and the crème brûlée was OK. I will definitely give them another try I will say their food was about three stars in the overall experience was five stars so that's why I have to give them a four star rating. read more

Food was not bad but service was terrible. My friends and I came for a birthday celebration which we wrote in our reservation. We saw 4 other birthdays with candles and my friends didn't get any when we ordered dessert. Then we were hit with a 20% auto gratuity for a party of 5 which I don't think they deserve since they didn't check up on us. We talked to our waitress Beatrice about how we felt and she only defended herself saying we didn't tell her about the birthday and it's their restaurant policy for the 20% gratuity. We were left speechless for no apology and she just stormed off to take the grad off. I hope everyone read all the reviews and reconsider coming here. read more
