I have never been this disappointed with alterations. I was referred to Christine's Tailoring…read moreAlterations by a friend and trusted Christine with an important gown I was wearing to the Emmy Awards. I paid $400, and the result was honestly unbelievable. Christine never measured me. Not once. Everything was guesstimated. The corset was originally too small and the skirt was enormous, so Christine took excess fabric from the skirt to expand the back of the corset. Somehow, after alterations, a dress that started out too small came back MASSIVE and literally falling off my body. Christine pinned it smaller and had me return the day before the Emmys. I tried it on again and it was STILL too big, even with the corset tightened completely. I specifically asked Christine to replace a zipper I didn't trust. She assured me it was fine. It wasn't. It slid down all night, and my husband eventually had to knot the corset string around it just to keep my dress closed. I also repeatedly asked for a hook and eye. It still hadn't been added at my second fitting, and when Christine finally added one, it snapped in half at the Emmys. The hardware felt incredibly cheap. The dress was also still too long despite my asking for it to be shortened. So after paying $400 for "professional alterations," I spent the Emmy Awards pulling my dress up because it was too large, picking it up off the floor because it was too long, and having my husband rig the zipper because it wouldn't stay up. I should have been enjoying and celebrating one of the biggest nights of my career. Instead, I spent the entire night stressed, uncomfortable, embarrassed, and worrying about whether my dress was going to stay on my body. Never again.

When looking for their shop, their door is not visible right away. You take the elevator to get to the 2nd floor of the plaza, then if you look to your left upon exiting the elevator, there will be a sign on the wall that points to a little corridor that leads to their shop! For some context, my dress was bought as is from a sample sale. As someone who is is not very tall in height, the dress visibly needed hemming. The wonderful team of Luxury Alterations successfully and beautifully hemmed my dress to my liking without losing its integrity. Even with the inches taken off from the front of my dress, they were still able to allow a beautiful train in the back which looked beautiful as shown in the photos. Additionally, I also wanted to be able to move around during my wedding dance and reception. Marine suggested a 5 point bustle that allowed me to move around and dance comfortably throughout the night. And she did it beautifully without making my dress look frumpy. It was like wearing two dresses for the price of one. As a budget bride, I was worried about cost as many times the price of alterations is as much, if not more, than the price of the gown. Fortunately, I was quoted a very fair price that, to my delight, was less than the cost of my discounted dress. My wedding was 8 months ago but I still look at my dress with awe and I have Luxury Alterations to thank for it.

Lily Bridal, where I purchased my wedding gown, highly recommended them, and I'm so grateful they did. My gown was a stunning Kitty Chen designer wedding dress, and together with my cathedral veil, it was an investment many thousands of dollars. It was incredibly important to me to trust an experienced alterations expert with something so special, and from the very first fitting, I knew my dress was in the best hands. Marine and her husband were incredibly kind, patient, and welcoming throughout the entire process. They listened to every detail I wanted, treated my gown with the utmost care, and made every appointment feel stress-free and enjoyable. They met every deadline and every wish I could have asked for. My gown fit like it had been custom-made just for me, and I felt absolutely beautiful and confident on my wedding day. To further clarify I want to clarify that nothing I shared was misinformation. I described the interaction exactly as it happened. I showed two photos to communicate the style I was hoping to achieve, and I asked what could be done. You explained that you only do alterations and that the only option would be shortening the dress. That part is completely understood and I never claimed otherwise. My feedback was about how the conversation felt, not about your skills or your ability to alter the dress. I didn't say you promised something you couldn't do, and I didn't claim you make custom dresses. The facts are straightforward: I asked what was possible, you explained the limitations, and I shared how the conversation came across from my perspective. That is not falsification, it is my honest experience. My feedback was about how the interaction felt. The communication came across as dismissive, and I left unsure of what could or couldn't be done. That is not misinformation; it is my honest experience as a customer. I believe clearer communication and more effective customer interaction would help avoid misunderstandings like this in the future. Training employees on how to explain limitations and options in a more welcoming way could make a big difference. Again, I did not falsify anything,I simply shared how the conversation came across from my perspective.

I was just ready to be rushed or something because it was so last minute, but she took her time and the amount of work I needed basically a suit jacket to be taken in two sizes. My wife and I got married a couple months ago and this review is long overdue. I wanted to wait…read moreuntil I had some pictures to post before I wrote this review, and it took us a little while to get our photos (good work takes time!). It's also a super long review, but for Suzanna it's worth it. My wife is actually the one who recommended me to Suzanna. I was stressing out about where to take my tuxedo. I've worked with several tailors around the area and while all of them were pretty decent, none of them wowed me. It didn't help that I had some unusual requests that I knew would get some judgment and pushback from most tailors (I wanted tux sleeves and pant hem at about 4/5 length, VERY short). That's when my wife recommended Suzanna. My wife actually brought THREE of her dresses to Suzanna. My wife also had some unusual requests and she said Suzanna was super nice and easy to work with, and was willing to do the odd requests after a small amount of explaining. Encouraged by my wife's experience, I gave Suzanna a visit. She was sooo incredibly nice and friendly. She was an absolute darling. I explained to her my untraditional requests, and she gave me an unsure (but still friendly) look. She made a joke that she's gonna have to make me sign a waiver promising that I won't write a poor review if she does what I'm asking, LOL. I promised her I knew what I was asking for, and that I would not blame her for the outcome if it looked bad. She agreed to take on the job. The whole exchange was very funny and friendly. She also has great memory, I told her my then-fiancée had come in 2-3 weeks prior to drop off her dress and she still remembered exactly who I was talking about! She made sure to give me a pickup date for my tuxedo on a different day than my fiancée's so that I don't accidentally see her dress. When she told me the price for those several major alterations on a total of 3 pieces of clothing (tux top, tux pants, tux shirt), I guffawed. Suzanna asked me if it was too much. But no, it was the exact opposite. I couldn't believe how reasonable it was. It was more than fair. My then-fiancée and I went to pick up my entire wedding outfit, just 2 weeks later. When I put on the whole tux, I couldn't believe how nice everything felt. It felt so premium and so comfortable. It was literally made for me. It fit exactly how I wanted, it was perfect in every single way. Not only did it make me LOOK good, it made me FEEL comfortable, it made me FEEL good and confident, everything a well-tailored outfit should be. It was clear she is extremely talented and has an eye for her craft. So much care and effort and precision went into each article of clothing, into each stitch. And it's not just my tuxedo either, every single one of my wife's wedding dresses came out perfectly and flawlessly. She loved how each one felt and flowed. Suzanna literally did both of our entire wedding outfits. You can tell from the pictures I've posted that Suzanna did an incredible job and the outfits not only looked good in person but also came out beautifully in photographs. We'd like to thank Suzanna sincerely from the bottom of our hearts for making us look so good and feel so good for our wedding. Thanks for all the kindness and caring. Thanks for being understanding of our weird and unorthodox requests and executing our vision. Suzanna played such a big part of our wedding and her beautiful work will forever be immortalized on the photos we hang on our walls and pass down to our children. If you want your clothes done perfectly with tons of care, if you want to look and feel confident, elegant, perfectly fitted for your special day or any other occasion, definitely come here. Suzanna is an artist and an absolute joy to work with.
