I'll never buy a suit anywhere but Capra again. They were one of the first places I went in when I needed a suit for my sister's wedding. In an effort to save money, I ended up buying one from Jos. A Bank in the Arboretum. However, when JAB failed to deliver after three weeks, I was in dire straits. The day before my sister's wedding, I texted Victor (who had given me his card the first time I went in) and asked if he could help. I showed up at noon, tried one a couple of suits, he took measurements, I picked up my suit at 6:30 that evening, and I have been raving about them to everyone who will listen. I will say, as far as their other items, they are too expensive for most people, myself included, to afford. But if I ever need another suit, I will 100% be going back to Capra and asking for Victor in particular. My husband and I recently stayed at the Hilton in downtown Austin and wandered into C&C in the hotel lobby. I thought it was a hotel gift store and much to our surprise this turned out to be a wonderful boutique clothing store that had a wide variety of clothing and was well stocked. Sandy was an amazing resource and we stopped in twice during our stay to shop. We then found out they had an even larger store at 35th and Lamar and we went shopping there and found the selection and staff to be equally helpful. I recently got married and needed a suit for the occasion. I went to Capra and Cavelli as my first stop, since I live right by the location, thinking this would be the first of many places that I would visit. Turns out it was my only stop. My wife an I decided that I needed my own tuxedo because my children have become at that "marrying age" I started researching the world of tuxedos. I am a physician so the extent of my wardrobe is mainly scrubs, jeans and gym attire. So many questions came up through my research. Should I rent? or buy? This proved to be little help because there is such a wide range in both areas. During my online search I came upon the "other" option in tuxedos, tailor made. I am writing this review with such detail because the online reviews of tailors in Austin were vague. I eventually came across a name that I recognized, Capra and Cavelli. I knew it because of its proximity to the hospital. We were greeted by Mikhael, and the fun began! Mikhael began his magic and declared very confidently that he had "sized me up the minute I walked in". I went through the relatively painless process of getting measured and realized that what I thought was a "proper fitting suit" was woefully underestimated over these past years. So I had a nightmare experience from one of the online custom suit companies and long story short it didn't work out and I needed a Tux ASAP for an upcoming wedding. We checked out Capra & Cavelli in hopes they sold tuxedos. Not only do they carry them, the quality and service we received was top notch. We met Buddy Estrella who was on point with his knowledge of clothing design and overall sense of what the customer wants. I had a bunch of questions and anxiety given the shortened time frame and prior experience, yet he addressed all my concerns and above all got me fitted into a tux that fits and looks perfect on me. Ken is the dearest and most delightful man who has worked there for many years. He knows his stuff and will care for you with utmost respect. I went to C&C with my boyfriend to buy him a sport coat, slacks and shirt for an event we needed to attend in a few weeks. We were so lucky that Buddy Estrella was there to help us. I was impressed immediately as he first measured my boyfriend in order to determine his exact size, something the other two retailers we visited had not done. Not only did my boyfriend get a perfect fit for all garments but Buddy personalized everything by altering the cuffs on the shirt a bit so they fit perfectly and even offered to take and pick up the shirt at the cleaners so it would be completely ready to go after the alterations were done. He also picked up my dress at the cleaners, which I did not buy at C&C, and altered the hem. Buddy listens carefully to what you need, is knowledgeable about the appropriate dress for various types of events and is very detailed and personable in his service. And the clothing quality at C&C is top notch. I highly recommend shopping at C&C and asking for Buddy when you do. read more
