This is among the best pizza I have ever had. Crust is unique with good flavor. Staff is upbeat and welcoming. Great local place!

Best pizza I've had in the Midwest. Rivals New York pizza. Simple yet delicious menu with premium ingredients. Salads are well thought out, pizzas are perfectly cooked. Not too expensive for what you get. The interior is awesome and they reuse old vinyl records for menus. Haven't drank beers but they have a good selection of craft beers. Definitely spend the extra 3 dollars here for a pizza instead of a chain! read more

Awesome local restaurant! I had a ham and pineapple New York style pizza that was the bomb! Great selection of beer and I liked the self serve cooler. Very friendly staff. Definitely will be back! read more

Funky pizza place in an unlikely location. Solid selection of brews, but the pizzas... Ahhh the pizza. I can't speak to the Chicago style, but the New York thin has a delicious crackly crust. Fresh tasting ingredients and sauce. They have a fun, timely staff too! Dont miss the garlic bread or cheesy bread! The music and menus are fun too! read more

I love that they have vegan options, which aren't necessarily plentiful in Cedar Rapids. We had the deep dish and it was perfect. Service was a little slow to get us our starter but other than that, no complaints. Bonus points for the good playlist! read more

Definitely a great place to get local pizza. Fresh ingredients (watched them cut up/slice/make most of them). Breadsticks were also a hit for my wife and I. If you haven't checked out Cappy's, it's time to do so... read more

This is one of our favorite pizza places. Our favorite is the Cappy's calzone and the Greek salad. They are delicious. We have also gotten the New York and Chicago which are great too. We often get it for carry out, but when we have eaten there we have been very pleased with the servers and the atmosphere. Great place for date night! read more

This is a really cool small Pizzeria the food is just OK, not sure I would order from here again maybe once to try the Chicago style pizza. Not much else to say read more

Close to home Pizza parlor. Not my favorite Za by any means, it certainly beats the majority of pies served locally. Inside, it's not very spacious, but there are booths and a few tables. Wait staff changes frequently, so the level of service is hit or miss. Be nice if they offered occasional specials like other establishments do, particularly on Tuesdays. Price is pretty much in line with all of the other pizza places in town. No beers on tap, just a wine cooler where you grab your own bottle or can. read more

We were in town and craving pizza, so we checked the Yelp reviews and found that Cappy's was just down the street from our hotel. We ordered carry out, but the restaurant itself is quaint with a hip vintage vibe. We ordered NYStyle pizza which was on point! We also ordered Caesar and Greek salads which were good, but not necessarily remarkable. There was also a great variety of unique beers available for carry out. Super service and incredibly friendly staff. Well worth the visit! Highly recommend! read more

We absolutely loved our whole Cappy's experience. From the kind voice on the phone that took my order, to absolutely sweetest decor, and every delicious bite. Thank you for a wonderful experience! read more

Wow, i've tried many pizza places around and this is definitely up there on the list. Usually i am a meat pizza person but their veggie options were also very delicious. This place is a must visit when in town read more

Stopped by to order a pizza for carry out. I hadn't eaten here for 3 years since there are many pizza joints in the area. Thought I'd give it a try. I ordered a large pepperoni pizza and a large Greek salad to go. The pizza tasted good, but was very greasy. The Greek salad had no olives, but tasted ok. I called and they told me they must have forgotten to put them. For a $10 salad I was disappointed that it wasn't better. We probably will not be eating here again. Service was vary good while we waited for our order. Very friendly, hardworking staff. read more

This is by far our favorite pizza place in town...especially for Chicago style pizza. The food, service and atmosphere are consistently exceptional. For as often as we eat here, we have never had a bad experience. Keep up the good work Cappy's!! read more

The best freaking Greek salad on the planet!!!! It's my weekly go to dinner! Top that off with one of their amazing pizzas and it's a date! the staff is super friendly and service is always fantastic. They do have an incredible beer selection also!!! Only downside is the Barefoot wine, so bring your own fancy bottle to go with their amazing food!!! Fantastic family business!!! read more

Excellent Pizza and Greek Salad! We had a Chicago Style Cappy and added black olives. Nice place and awesome service too! read more

Cappy's Pizzeria - Chicago Style Cappy with black olives added - Pizza Near Me - Cedar Rapids, Iowa

The calzone was fit for two. I could barely eat half of it before getting full. Filled with meat and cheese. One of the best I've had. The value was ridiculous. A calzone the size of a big plate and I was able to get it for less than $10. Highly recommend. To top it all off they had trivial pursuit cards at the table to look at/play while eating and waiting. read more

This place is a real gem. Nice ambiance, very low key. We were seated within minutes of arrival. The wait staff were meticulous with cleaning off the table before we sat. We looked around and all of the pizzas looked so good on all the tables around us. The waitress we had was very friendly and attentive. Now to the good stuff. We ordered a large (16") plain cheese NY style pizza. It came out of the oven super quick and we dove in. People, this is some seriously good pizza. Everything you'd want in a pizza, gooey cheese, light sauce, and a nice chewy crust. We devoured it in record time. I will definitely be back here again. read more

Easily my favorite place in town. Best pizza in CR...both NY and Chicago style. Dining in has a cute kitchen feel and the staff are always friendly. This place should get more recognition than it does. read more

This place was highly recommended to me by a couple people, but the pizza did not live up to the expectations. Maybe it was because when I called to order a large pepperoni pizza for pick up, they quoted me a 2 hour wait (?). I picked it up a little less than 2 hours later and the pizza was barely warm and smelled off-putting. I took 1 bite and couldn't finish. My husband didn't even try it based on the smell alone. Such a bummer, especially considering it was $21 with a tip. I gave it 2 stars because the restaurant was quaint and I always try to support locally. Unfortunately, this was just a miss for me. read more

Tried Cappys for the first time tonight, and it won't be the last!! Great atmosphere not huge and maybe 1 or 2 tables big enough for a big group several booths and tables with happy Christmas lights and great music. Pizza tasty and hot! Service outstanding! Mentioned it was our first time and our waitress took time to explain their menu and popular choices! Next time we will try the Greek salad heard several people order!ing it! Truly a hidden gem!! read more

Best pizza in town! Personal favorite is Chicago. Must try Greek salad! Also recommend cheesy bread. Great atmosphere as well.

The vegan cheeseburger pizza was amazing! Some of the best food I've had. I don't always like vegan cheese but this vegan cheese was perfect. read more

Tonight we had a LG NYC veg pizza and a LG Chicago pizza. They have risen to the occasion by once again serving a fantastic pizza.

I am so disappointed. When I first had cappy's pizza, I was so happy. The Cappy beat out even Tomaso's Mombo Combo, which is quite a feat in my eyes. Unfortunately, as the months went by, I feel like the quality of this pizza place has gone down. The first offense was takeout where the crust was black, and I mean burnt to a crisp and tasted bad. I've had takeout where I got home and the pizza had been hilariously tipped to the side so all the ingredients were only baked on maybe a fourth of the pizza (the cheese was still there so I know they saw it and it didn't move in the car) and the last time I was there, we waited quite awhile for a pizza that was soggy. The server said that there was something wrong with the new baker and a lot of dough had just been turning out that way. Yuck. I would have had to eat it with a spoon; I am not exaggerating. If Cappy's can get back on the level they were when they opened, I would go back, but honestly there's enough good pizza places in Cedar Rapids unless someone else buys it for me, I'm probably not going to try it again. Why waste time and money? read more

Easily my favorite pizza place in Cedar Rapids, possibly my favorite restaurant overall given how good the pizza is. Both the New York and Chicago styles are excellent. I would choose this place over Zooey's any day of the week, they don't even compare. read more

our team went here after a soccer tournament on a Saturday night around 730. The woman who waited on us possibly the owner couldn't be any nicer and sweeter to accommodate us, she made us welcome! The food was absolutely outstanding. The Greek salad was so good that next time I'm going to order two portions of it. It's a very family-style meal so you can order many things and share. The Greek salad to serve anywhere from 6 to 8 people but it was so good that will definitely order a bigger size so we can all have seconds. this is probably one of the best restaurants in Cedar Rapids. read more

Best New York thin in the area. Fresh ingredients and perfect blend of spices. Intimate environment that appears to do a ton of carry out business. Would direct any traveler or local here without hesitation. Glad they are here!!!!! read more

This is definitely my favorite pizza place in town. I've only tried the New York style which was really good! Additionally, the ambience of the place is really cool and cosy! Love this place. read more

Best pizza in the ia city area. Make this a weekly ritual! A laid back vibe, but quality food. Good for a quick bite or longer sit down meal. One of my favorite Cedar Rapids eateries. read more

We loved the pizza!! Decided to visit because of other positive reviews and we are so happy we did. The place shares a building with Coffeesmiths and is easy to find just north of Boyson on C Ave. Not very busy on this Tuesday night, but I bet that changes soon. Very retro decor. We enjoyed looking at the art on the walls and even the salt and peppers shakers unique to each table. Trivial Pursuit young persons version cards on each table were fun to use and won't make you feel stupid. It is a small place but that's part of the charm. Based on other reviews we started with a small Greek salad which is the best I've ever tasted. Our fantastic waitress/hostess, Morgan, made the salad herself. The addition of the house potato salad on the side was pure genius. The small salad fed both my husband and myself with a good amount left over to come home. Morgan boxed it up and stored it in their fridge for us. The large hand tossed Cappy pizza came to us fresh, hot and delicious. We substituted the sausage with bacon and it was perfect. Huge portions! We didn't want to stop eating but we had to take 1/2 the pizza home. Our bill with beer and a fountain drink was about $35. Next time, and we will be back soon, we will get the medium size pizza and salad and I know we'll still have leftovers. Great restaurant! Quite likely the best pizza in the Cedar Rapids area. read more

I love this place! The atmosphere makes you feel like your having dinner at your family's house. Last time we were there we tried the deep dish pizza with garlic and spinach. It was amazing! read more

We love this place, but my wife and I think the crust has changed. Second time in a row. It just isn't the same, as it was when it first opened. Still a great salad. read more

Both the New York and Chicago style pizzas tasted great! The overall vibe of the restaurant was welcoming and the wait staff were very nice.

Okay so me and my boyfriend were looking for a cool place to eat that we have never had before. This place is so cool. Great vibe, nice waitstaff, delicious food, and cute menus! We got the chicago style Cappy's Pizza and breadsticks and they were both AMAZING highly recommend read more

The service was horrible we were in the restaurant for an hour before a server spoke to us. Then the server proceeded to treat us poorly and was very dull. Pizza was decent but the customer service ruined it for me. Will not be back Zoeys is so much better. read more

Food was great. Had the deep dish pizza, it was everything they advertised an more. Had a small Greek salad, it was huge and fed 5 guys. They service was good, the employees were polite. Prices were reasonable. It had the feel of a small family run business. As I was ordering, a customer at another table probably picked up that we weren't from here and very politely helped us figure out what it was that we wanted. Awesome experience!!! We would all go back. read more

I'm not honestly sure what I can say about this place, went there for my birthday because its close. Service was meh, and there were about 3-4 tables occupied. The bread sticks were good, the pizza just fell flat for me. The sauce while made in house, which i fully appreciate was just bland. Quite sad because I have heard such great things. I'm sure at some point Ill go back, and hopefully it was just a fluke, but... Oh they do have a pretty cool retro vibe thing going on. read more

Definitely has a great selection of craft beers. It gets a little bit busy during the dinner hour on Friday and Saturday, but the Chicago-style pizza in particular is definitely worth the wait. Also, the only credible source of a good calzone in Cedar Rapids since Leo's closed. read more

1st time in here. Always said we needed to try it when we were up here. After all, the ones in Tampa have been voted best pizza there for 2 or 3 years in a row. Weren't let down. Cheese bread was fantastic. Son had a meatball Calzone that was bigger than the poor boys head!! Wife and I had the Chicago style. Fantastic!! Crust was crispy and very tasty! Then double bubble gum brought with the check!! Small cozy, and the wait staff is excellent!! Will definitely be back every time we're in town!!! read more
