We love coming to Leonardo's pizza when we are in town. You walk in and it's like stepping back in time with the decor. The service is always good, just know if it's busy you will wait, but it's so worth it! We ordered the all meat pizza and the bacon cheese burger pizza. Also a full order of the cheesy garlic bread, family grabbed most of it before I could grab a picture. Also the mozzarella sticks are amazing. Drinks are also good. My friend and I sat the bar and the bartender was friendly and efficient. My buddy's drink was good and looked like a good pour, not burnt but not too light either. My margarita had a good flavor but I tasted no tequila or triple sec in it, I ordered a second one, same thing. We ordered food as well, my friend ordered a quesadilla which looked good and was good according to him. I ordered a lasagna and was not impressed - the temperature was slightly less than the surface of the sun, the marinara sauce had too much sugar in it (like Filipino spaghetti sauce), the portion size was small (I ate again later that night), and for it being lasagna, it had one lasagna noodle in it. I've had a similar dish in Napa, CA with similar results. I wasn't impressed, not in Napa, not here. Not sure where they got their lasagna recipe from but it needs to go back and stay there. The "cheese bread" on the side was disappointing as well. It was essentially dry French bread with pepperjack cheese melted on it. If you're going to do that, at least put some butter on it and grill it, otherwise it's a bland, tasteless side mess, which it was. I usually have a mixed drink and their pizza and have yet to be disappointed, so next time, that's what I'll do. Avoid the lasagna or whatever it is they call lasagna. As far as the bar itself is concerned? I love the retro look and feel of the place, always have, always will. This time though, there were A LOT of kids there - must've had some sort of special going on. It wasn't loud or obnoxious or kids running everywhere while we there, I've just never seen that many kids there before. No biggie. read more

Classic. This place evolves, but never changes to the point where it's not nostalgic. My friends and I have gathered here for many, many years. The red and black tufted vinyl walls, massive wrap-around booths, even the entryway with embedded black rocks... it's hard to describe. It's like just a tiny bit goth, torture chamber, medieval, BDSM even. But beyond that, it's also a great towny bar. It's not that the food is amazing. I mean the ranch is good, the fried appetizers like corn nuggets never disappoint, the pizza has a really nice floury crust. It's just consistent. It's just what you need. It's good food for sharing, and it leaves the focus on the conversations. Service is, well, you know. It's a towny bar. It's okay. The drinks aren't super strong, nor are they super cheap. Went there for a Murdoch Funeral Home Meeting in the meeting room. I ordered a large pizza with Hamburger and Onion and IT WAS TRULY DELICIOUS. The combination of the sauce and thin crust and toppings was exceptional. It made me feel good. Met my son and grand daughter at Leonardo's on Sunday, June 22nd, 2025. There were people leaving at the back entrance, with two boothes of patrons besides ours. We each had two beers, my grand daughter had a soda, and we ordered a half and half large pizza. Other patrons arrived after we had been there awhile, that's why we ordered another beer. When I questioned the waitress she said it takes longer to cook a pizza than the orders the other tables made, but IF WE WERE IN A HURRY, SHE COULD BRING IT OUT!! SAY,WHAT? I've never heard such a lame excuse for falling behind the ball. The $4.50 beers were quite the surprise also. Two bush light 12 ounces, and two tap Coors light. My grand daughter wasn't asked if she needed a refill on her soda, so we asked her if she would like more, which she didn't. Leonardo's used to be my all time favorite place to go, since before I graduated in 1972. What a sad disappointment, we ate our pizza, but the quality of the ingredients was disappointing. My husband and I have been going to Leonardo's for over 50 years. We went there for our first date. We have always gotten shrimp pizza. The new owner eliminated from the menu right away. We loved that pizza. We are so disappointed because that was our celebration place. But new is good I guess. But we will not try their food any longer. Saw reviews, enough for us. read more

This was such a cool surprise... The instant you walk in, you know you are going to be in for a fun night out. This is not fine dining nor will you find anyone taking themselves too seriously here... It's a pizza and beer place with a super cool vibe. The interior decor is a total throwback to the mid-60s or 70s, right down to the red high back bar stools and walls covered in local team memorabilia. You should take a few minutes to walk around and appreciate the look and feel of this bar - it's unique. We had a really good waitress, and the rest of the staff was working their tails off. For a Saturday night, it was amazing we were able to eat in 90-minutes with 14 people (six of them were kids). There is plenty of sitting in the place - and people move through quickly. Of course we had some pizzas, but we also enjoyed chicken salad (it was huge - enough for two to share), onion rings (a bit greasy, but not terrible), and nachos (I would skip these next time). The pizza is incredible, we had BBQ chicken, taco and pepperoni. The BBQ chicken pizza was some of the best that I've ever had. Overall, this is a real gem. There's no windows, which is fine, but the lighting should have been a little darker to match the dark theme of the walls without windows. Overall, the prices were fair and the food was good. When we want "inexpensive" pizza, we buy one of those $2-$3 frozen ones and heat it ourselves. It has hand tossed crust, which is good, but it is very overpriced, at around $40 for a 3 topping, it is very expensive. They also have a long list of sandwiches, which I would say average around three stars. They are all right, but nothing special. Booths from the 60/70 timeframe nothing appears to be updated the decor was awful. Food was worse. Ordered pizza and garlic bread. Toast was what we got Texas stale toast with slices of "Parmesan" cheese. Who does that? Pizza was worse. Seemed like a large Totinos or store bought cheap crust. One side was over cooked other was under. Cheese was old and not taste expected. Wow. If you want to get lost and relive the wild 70s swinger state come visit. We have had two hour waits for carry out orders the last two times we ordered here as they seem to be struggling with the volume of carry out and eat in orders. I've gone here for years and it's always consistent. The atmosphere hasn't changed dine the 70's. Red naugahyde and dark, but the staff is friendly and the food is good. Five of us celebrated a Birthday @ Leonardo's on Pizza/ pitcher of soda special night. Cheese!!! Oh my gosh, the cheese on the pizza's is amazing. Two guests love the stromboli, it didn't disappoint, the remaining three did 1/2 chicken/ 1/2 cheese. This combo was a success with the three. Leonardo's is still the friendly/ welcoming place we discovered in the '60's when we couldn't afford pizza, and could only afford an occasional soda. This place has been a popular hangout for my family for ages! While the food isn't spectacular, we go here for the atmosphere and because the staff is great in accommodating us. Yes, the decor still looks very... let's say retro, but if you don't like black and red leather cushy booths, with a dark interior... you may not enjoy this. Not a whole lot of choice on beers, but pitchers are cheap. Food is cheap too... if anything I enjoy their taco pizza. I think it is one of the better items they do. Ask for extra salsa as the small side that comes with it, is enough for one large slice. Their potato skins are good too, avoid the mozzarella sticks (they're not really sticks, more like nuggets), and their waffle fries a great too. I think this place probably rates higher for those who have a bit of history with it. If you are looking for a fine dining, culinary experience, you may want to stop into Leo's for a drink, but then head somewhere else for your gourmet meal. read more

This restaurant hasn't changed since my Mom was in high-school (1970s), so the family gets a real kick out of seeing the retro decor, old LaSalle high school memorabilia, etc. I like anything fried here and the veggie pizza is delicious, too. This is an older establishment that is evident in the wear and tear of the booths. While this is important for ambiance, it also matters to your skin as you slide in and out of the booths. The fried clams we ordered seemed a bit dry and tasted of scorched oil. We ordered 2 pizzas that were flavorful but the crust seemed over cooked. One was Canadian sauerkraut and pepperoni and black olive. We also ordered spicy bloody Mary's that were tasty. The customer service was good but overall seemed expensive for what we received. Not sure I'll be back but due to the history probably should give it a try. read more
