My wife took her to her next appointment with him at the wound center. The experience was even worse with him talking to patients, nurses and assistants as if they were garbage. Don't subject yourself or a loved one to someone in a vocation whose heart isn't in it. There are too many other podiatrists in the Hudson Valley who do care. Dr. Cappa crosses the line as a human being. The best thing we've done for my mother was to make sure she never had to endure him again.

Only recommendation was a cream concoction developed Dr. Cappa for $140 not covered by insurance. I tried it and it was useless. In addition they scheduled me for an appointment several months down the road. I forgot to put in on my calendar but they never sent out a reminder via text or e-mal or phone a few days before the visit. EVERY doctor or group I go to provides a reminder of some sort. Very deceptive business practices in the business of orthotics and insurance. Floor price for…read moreorthotics is 475.00 if you have no ins but 690.00 to insurance carrier so your out of pocket is higher when you do not have 100% coverage. They ask for 100.00 deposit before ordering but do not take any time to advise you of what you costs could be. I was told 100% coverage and they moved my appointment up to be sure they utilized the insurance approval but I would of been presented with a 340.00 bill when I went to pick them up. What a shame as the Doctor seemed to be decent but the staff, especially billing, leaves much to be desired. Kelly Bruce, billing manager, thought that this was all ok. Someone needs to review this and CDHDP has been informed.

I was told this is because insurance promises but does not always pay. This office is so worried about getting their money that they are denying patients care because they can't come up with $100 to sit in the offices bank account collecting interest when it is not needed. He seems like he knows what he's doing but visit after visit seemed to prove useless. After several visits for the same foot issue I had to switch doctors which rectified my issue (which was minor) after two visits while Mr. Houdini kept me coming back several times, I'm convinced, to pocket my co-payments. His wonderful personality and bedside manner really got me on my initial review but I need great treatment as well as a wonderfully spirited doctor. My issue wasn't that serious but had I needed surgery I would be called "The One Foot Bandit" right about now cause I would have probably lost a foot.

Visited the walk in center at Orthopedic Associates in Poughkeepsie out of desperation this…read moremorning. Got the around 845am. The waiting room was pretty full, still no one acknowledged me or gave me any directions. After approximately 10 minutes I found out that I needed to put my name on a list which I did. I sat down to wait for my name to be called and as I waited as most people do I was on my c Cell phone. After several minutes I saw people that came after me getting signed in, checked the list and sad my name crossed off. When I asked why I was told that I looked as if I was busy so she skipped right over me. Didn't even want to come here because of previous terrible care like a doctor who when I cried following a diagnosis said, " it's not like I told you you have cancer" . Now just one more reason why I need to find a new orthopedic doctor. DONT USE ORTHOPEDIC ASSOCIATES OF DUTCHESS COUNTY!!!!!!!
