This is still a nice neighborhood place, but there have been some quality issues in the kitchen: felafel is inedibly salty, koftedes overcooked are over cooked and drowned in an overly sweet sauce, chicken tasteless. Beef/lamb gyro is usually ok, but 3 stars is as high as it can go until the quality control improves. read more

I wish I could give more than five stars, because that is how much I (and my family) love Capo. We literally order from here every week and it is such a favorite. Our staples are the beef/lamb and chicken plates, beet labni (so good!!!), and the lemon fries. The food is always fresh, so delicious, and relatively healthy with that mediterranean diet. This is our weekly go to place. The kids love the chicken nuggets and we love their shawarma and kababs. Total value for money. We always do take outs and the service has been top class. They really pride themselves in what they serve, as an example one time the baklava tasted stale and they gave us a complimentary Panna Cotta which was yum! Yoooooo get a fat plate of spitfire chicken, dip it in the sauce, and then pour some of there homemade hot sauce on it. Fire! It came with pickled veggies that were equally delish! Capo is a favorite place of mine. They are consistent with the quality and flavor, and the staff is always so friendly. My latest addiction has been the capo burger. Capo is a small quirky Mediterranean place in a mini-mall across for the Carlmont Shopping Center in Belmont. Service was friendly and the food was, well, fine. It's not quite classical Mediterranean. Nothing great, nothing bad, just kinda okay. This place is within a reasonable walk from my house, so it's somewhat likely we'll get there once in a while, but it's not a destination I'm going to be telling people about. read more

Excellent place to buy a gyro for lunch. I took the advice of another reviewer and also ordered The calamari and the cauliflower. Everything came out super quick like in 10 minutes and the calamari was so hot and chewy. The cauliflower comes in some kind of spice with two sauces one of which is dill-based. The chicken gyro came with something pickled in a bright fuchsia color and there were French fries in the gyro. Seating outside was adequate and we could hear the bells playing in the church down the street. I also ordered the baklava but am so full from lunch that I haven't tried it yet. read more

The chicken was tender and juicy even without the spicy feta sauce on it. The portion was perfect and filled me up. We also had the 5 spread combo, a must if you have no idea about the spreads. We were very happy to hear they opened despite the pandemic! We are big supporters of Vivace so when they told us they're opening Capo, we were very excited. Decided to place an online order on Sat. Sept. 16th, which was their grand opening. We ordered Spitfire Beef & Lamb Salad, Spitfire Beef & Lamb Pita, Lemon Fries, Tzatziki spread, and Harissa Cauliflower. The service was great when we arrived to pick up our food. It was a bit delayed, but understood that it was their first night. When we brought it home (5 min), the food was cold. Again, we understood that it was their first night. Now on to the food. Although the protein in the salad and the pita were delicious, the beet coloring in the pita was interesting. It's a pretty pink but my daughter could not look past it. She wished we could of asked for no beet sauce. Maybe I missed the options section when ordering or I guess I should have put it in the notes. Nevertheless she ate it all! As for the Harissa Cauliflower, I highly recommend it. Lots of flavor and makes for a great side dish with your main plate. The Tzatziki was really good too! They even provided pita bread which was nice to dip into the spread. Capo Mediterranean Kitchen is a great new favorite food location. We stumbled upon it driving up Ralston and decided to stop in a few weeks later. They were in the middle of building new seating outside (which I believe is now finished) but had just opened up for indoor dining after the pandemic. The owner and the team greeted us and offered us an indoor table and then helped us figure out our order. We went for both lamb and beef combo and a chicken combo plate. We would consider ourselves Mediterranean food experts, having tried it all over the world. Capo was different. The colors of the hummus were bright (Yes there's literally a purple hummus!). The meats were roasted with some savory spices. And they even brought over a pitcher of chilled, filtered water on the house. We loved it so much, we decided to ask them about their catering menu to use their food as a mainstay for hosting. We have now used them for 2 events for catering and the food keeps getting better. Little things like the Pita Bread being perfectly roasted so that it's fresh and crispy. The feta ranch dressing for their classic salads. The Babaganoush and Tzatziki are super fresh and creamy. Yes, that's it...the texture of their spreads is incredible...And this time we got some really great hot sauce to top off the meats which are naturally already super flavorful, sizzling delights. So, thanks so much to the Capo Team for coming through on the catering for our last event. This was our second time and it keeps getting better. We know you are working hard out there and sometimes may not hear all the feedback, so we're here to say THANK YOU! Please keep doing catering and more people will get to try your food. Another thing to add for everyone is that the appearance of their food is different than most Mediterranean restaurants. We don't know how they do it but everything is so fresh and colorful...and you taste it in their food. One piece of final advice is to not forget to order some extra for after your event so have have some leftovers. Food was tasty and delicious but portions for what you get is just not worth it. Next time we went we got the kofte rice plate that tasted like a sweet bbq meatball. It was good though. They changed the type of fries and they were pretty soggy. Also got the chicken rice plate. It was a little greasy and dry unfortunately. In the end the food is hit or miss good one day a little subpar the next. For what you pay, unfortunately just don't know if it's worth it.
